The search for a missing 14 year old Amber LeeAnne DuBois was called off as it entered its sixth day.
Investigators have learned that DuBois talked to a friend on her cell phone on her way to class that morning, San Diego radio station KFMB reported.
Witnesses claimed to have spotted her in downtown Escondido Saturday and Sunday nights.
The teen’s father, Maurice DuBois, said reports of a possible sighting of his daughter Saturday were considered unreliable. He said his daughter is very structured — not the type of girl to disappear on her own.
Police have decided to wait to get better leads before resuming the search, KFMB reported.
UPDATE I: Investigator Explores New Lead … Was Amber DuBois Abducted?
A local investigator in the case of missing Escondido teenager Amber Dubois, said a woman, who looks a lot like the missing 14-year-old, told him that some men got out of a van February 2 near Escondido High School and approached her.
When the men asked her to get in the van, she said no, and they chased her, Bill Garcia said. The woman said she ran into an elementary school and escaped.

“We’re looking for somebody out there that has information about something that took place, or maybe has a friend who knows something,” Escondido Police Lt. Craig Carter said. “If they don’t want to get involved, they can leave an anonymous tip.”

UPDATE V: New Tip in Missing Amber Dubois Case … Seen Walking with Boy
Meantime, Amber’s mother said police were looking into a new tip Saturday night. Amber was seen walking with a tall boy the day she went missing.
“They are thinking it was a high school student. They want to make sure. They want to talk to him and no one has come forward yet,” McGonigle said.
This weekend, her family organized another search for Amber. Volunteers have been going door-to-door, handing out fliers.

Just in to Missing & Exploited, Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch is in Florida helping in the search for missing 22 year old Stepha Henry. Stepha Henry is a graduate of criminal justice who has been missing since May 29, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale, FL when she attended a club. Stepha Henry checked her voice mail at 4:13 am but was never seen or heard from again.
According to Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch, they are going to use several resources to aid in Stepha’s search. They will be using side scanner sonar and search the many water areas in the vicinity where she went missing.
Tim Miller also stated that they are trying to locate the vehicle that Stepha Henry was given a ride in to the club. Tim agrees with the police that the car could hold keys to the mystery of missing Stepha Henry.
Where is that Acura Integra? The man who drove it that night says he borrowed it from a friend of a friend. Police think if they can find the car, maybe they’ll get some answers. Is it abandoned somewhere? Or innocently being driven by its owner? Any answer would help. (AMW)
Tim Miller stated that the family of Stepha Miller asked us if we could not help bring their daughter home. Tim stated, “that law enforcement has been extremely cooperative in mapping a plan of action to search for Stepha”. We just want to bring Stepha home to her family, said Tim Miller”.
UPDATE I: Search for Missing Stepha Henry continues with aide of TES
The Henrys have also hired a high-profile search and rescue team, Texas EquuSearch, to help find Stepha. The nonprofit organization conducts searches by foot, water (diving and boats), air (using helicopters and planes), and dog teams (air scent and corpse.)
{{{SM Editors note: The Broward Times in this article stated that the family hired Texas Equusearch. That is not correct. The editors at this news paper need a understand that non-profits are not hired. The family asked for TES’s help, they did not hire them. We will make this correction of the misspoken word, if The Broward Times does not.}}}
EquuSearch director Tim Miller said the group was involved in the recovery of pregnant murder victim Jessie Davis’ body in Ohio. The company also helped in the search for murder victim Kelsey Smith, and for Natalee Holloway, a partying teen who is still listed as missing in Aruba.
“The Henrys contacted us in Texas and we wanted to get involved with the search,” he said. “We’ve brought sonar equipment to search underwater.” (Broward Times)

Stepha Henry has been missing since May 29, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She attended a reggae concert and got into a car with a man and has never been seen or heard from since.
Description:
- Sex: Female
- Age: 22
- Race: Black
- Height: 5’2″
- Weight: 110
- Hair: Red
- Eyes: Brown
The two went to a reggae concert on Sunday, then late Monday night, Stepha told her aunt she was going to Club Peppers, a nightclub in Fort Lauderdale. Her family watched her get into a dark-colored 4-door Acura Integra with a man, and that’s the last they saw of her.
Police say video taken by a promotional company at Club Peppers that night shows Stepha there, and detectives say people saw her at the club, and saw her leave. Police also questioned the man she rode with to the club. He says they separated once they got there. The only other clue for police is that Stepha checked her cell phone voice mail at 4:13 a.m. But Stepha never made it back to her aunt’s house. (AMW)

Car sought for clues to woman’s disappearance
Police said they have no suspects in the case. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Henry’s parents — Steve and Sylvia — have moved to Florida temporarily from New York to try to draw more public attention to the case.
Henry was visiting her aunt in South Florida for Memorial Day weekend along with her teenage sister. On the evening she disappeared they had been to a barbecue with friends. (CNN)
The tragedy of this case is that Stepha Henry is a graduate of criminal justice. Doesn’t this sound a lot like the Imette St. Guillen case.
Her aunt, Carletha Clarke, told the Trinidad Guardian newspaper that police did not contact her until June 6, more than a week after the disappearance.
“I’m very disappointed, because being so long, anything could have happened.”
Henry is an honors graduate in criminal justice and was planning to go to law school next year.
Her parents said she has always been fascinated by crime.

41 year old Theresa Parker, a 911 dispatcher, has been missing since March 21, 2007. She was last seen by her husband Sam Parker at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.
(Sam & Theresa Parker)
As Theresa Parker’s family fears the worst, they have a prayer vigil for her in hopes a miracle and hopeful ending to Theresa’s disappearance.
“Something bad has happened to her,” said her sister Christina Hall in recalling a long list of appointments and events Theresa has missed since last seen Wednesday, March 21.
“The hardest thing is not knowing,” said her brother-in-law Jonathan Wilson, who came up from Florida with his wife, Theresa’s sister Hilda, to hold vigil on Monday. “What we’re focusing on right now is bringing our sister home.”
The mystery is taking its toll on the family’s emotions.
“We’re worn out and broken,” Jonathan said. “We just want to find her, and once we have that we’ll want answers.” (Walker County Messanger)

UPDATE I: Husband’s Car Impounded in Missing Dispatcher Case
Now there are new developments in the case of the missing Walker County 9-1-1 dispatcher.
They involve her estranged husband, Sam Parker, who is a police officer on the LaFayette force.
On Thursday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation seized Sam Parker’s patrol car. It sits in a LaFayette, Georgia impound lot.
We are told the Parkers were going through a nasty divorce when Theresa suddenly disappeared eight days ago. (WCRB-TV)
UPDATE II: Sheriff seeking volunteers for ground search Saturday
Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said a ground search for missing Walker County 911 dispatcher Theresa Parker will be conducted on Saturday, March 31.
Volunteers familiar with south Walker County are welcome and are asked to assemble no later than 9 a.m. at Walker County Fire Station No. 15 at 18 Old Lee School Road at the intersection with U.S. 27.
The search teams will concentrate on an area south of LaFayette and north of the Chattooga County line, bounded on the east by Taylor’s Ridge and on the west by Pigeon Mountain, Wilson said. (Walker County Messenger)
UPDATE III: Police reveal more details of investigation into dispatcher’s disappearance
Parker’s shift ends at 7 a.m. so she clocked out shortly after that, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said. She was scheduled to be off Wednesday through Saturday, which is normal rotation for dispatchers, and she asked for Sunday off as well to work on moving into her new apartment.
Parker is going through a divorce with her husband Sam, a long-time sergeant with the LaFayette Police Department. She was planning to move into a townhouse near Lakeview Drive. She normally speaks with her family daily, but upon talking to her sister face to face in Fort Oglethorpe at about 10 p.m. Wednesday night, she said she would be busy moving to her new residence.
Authorities have not recovered Parker’s cell phone as has been reported, but they have used global positioning satellites to determine when and in what vicinity it was used last. Harris said he could not reveal that information during an ongoing investigation. Harris said phone records could play a major role in the investigation and could not release any phone-related specifics at this time.
If Theresa left, she didn’t leave in her vehicle. Her 1999 Toyota Forerunner was at her Cordell Road residence on Saturday where she and Sam lived in LaFayette. It was brought to the sheriff’s department for processing by a GBI crime scene specialist, which involves looking for fingerprints, hairs, fibers and other evidence “just like CSI (on TV),” Wilson said.
Sister of Missing Georgia 911 Dispatcher Says She Suspects Her Sister’s Estranged Husband
Theresa was in the midst of a divorce from her husband, Sam Parker, when she disappeared over a week ago.
“I can honestly say that I do believe he’s involved. That’s what I feel, that’s what I know in my heart,” Hill said.
“I know of an incident last year where she was really scared, she was really afraid. And she looked me in the eyes and told me that she was afraid that she was going to die,” she added.
Police say they have not classified Parker, a sergeant with the LaFayette, Ga., police department, as a suspect.
However, FOX News learned late Saturday that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation obtained a search warrant for Parker’s home based upon information gathered over the past week. There was no word if the search had been carried out yet. (FOX News)
UPDATE IV: Police sergeant now ‘person of interest’ in missing wife case
Authorities carried out a search warrant at the Parkers’ 985 Cordell Ave. residence Saturday evening, but declined to discuss the outcome of that search. The Georgia Bureau of Investiga
Theresa Parker tion has named Sam Parker a “person of interest,” in the case, Wilson said.
“The main reason (for the designation) was they served a search warrant at his home, and obviously once you do that you’re focusing in on that individual,” Wilson said.
UPDATE V: Authorities draining pond near Parker house
UPDATE VI: Theresa Parker on America’s Most Wanted
UPDATE VII: News Conference today at 2 pm edt
According to Fox News There is to be a news conference at 2pm edt today regarding the disappearance of Theresa Parker. Relatives of the missing Parker have said the following according to Fox, “This is a great development, not what we hoped for.”

“This is a great development,” he said, but “it isn’t what we thought.”
He added: “We are very pleased. It’s not what I hoped, but it’s going to be big.”
UPDATE VIII: According to “Live” news conference the body of Theresa Parker has not yet been found; however, a police officer has been arrested for making a false statement to police.
A LaFayette police officer was arrested and charged with making false statements to police in regards to the case, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson announced. The officer arrested is not Sam Parker, Theresa’s husband, who is a sergeant on the same police force. The man arrested is the next-in-line supervisor on the same shift as Sam Parker (FOX)

Could the Police be dealing with an “Anniversary Killer”?
Could it be possible that these three cases are connected? Could they have been committed by the same person? Is there a serial killer he takes 11 year old girls from trailer parks in the August 15–19 time period, exactly two years apart? Investigators into each of the three disappearance are starting to question whether there is a pattern and if the three cases are connected. It appears that the same man may have committed the three crimes.
The Shannon Paulk Task Force, formed shortly after Shannon disappeared, announced Tuesday that investigators believe Shannon’s case is related to Teresa’s disappearance and that of Heaven Lashae Ross of Northport, Ala. A statement cited “striking” similarities among the three cases.
- All three girls were 11 years old.
- All three were abducted from trailer parks where they lived.
- All three girls disappeared two years apart – but within days of each other in August.
- In all three cases, construction, such as commercial construction, roadwork or bridge building, was being done nearby.
(Macon.com)
Shannon Paulk, Teresa Dean and Heaven Ross’ cases all have a striking similarity. Shannon Paulk disappeared from her Candlestick Trailer Park in Prattville, Alabama on August 16, 2001. Shannon’s remains were found on October 6, 2001 seventeen miles from her home in the Autauga County Wild Life Management Area.
Teresa Dean and Heaven Ross both disappeared from their trailer parks in mid-August, exactly two years before and after Shannon’s disappearance. Could the three cases have been done by the same individual. Is it possible that it is just a bizarre coincidence that all three girls taken from trailer parks, exactly two years apart? Seems very unlikely. Many of the characteristics of the three disappearance seems similar. Although at this point only Shannon’s body has been recovered.
A composite sketch was done of an individual who was last seen talking to Shannon Nicole Paulk. This individual; is wanted for questioning.
The man had a mole under his eye that had two hairs growing out of it. His skin was very tanned and he had creases around his eyes, mouth, and across his brow. He is described as being 5’11” to 6’ tall, with a stocky build and a medium beer belly. His arms were very muscular and hairy. His teeth were yellow and crooked. There is a bump on the bridge of his nose as if his nose was broken. He is described as having hazel eyes, sandy blonde hair with darker roots and gray streaks. His goatee was darker than his hair.
(Prattville.com)
Shannon disappeared on August 16, 2001 from Candlestick Trailer Park in Prattville, Alabama. She was last seen talking to a man around 2:30 p.m.
(Shannon Nicole Paulk)
Heaven LaShae Ross was 11 when she vanished on Aug. 19, 2003, while walking the 150 or so yards from her house in Willow Brook Trailer Park to the bus stop at the end of her street.
(Heaven LaShae Ross)
Northport abduction could be serial crime (Disappearance of Heaven LaShae Ross)
Heaven LaShae Ross received a jolt Wednesday when investigators said they were looking into a possible link between her disappearance and those of two other girls under similar circumstances.
“Since Teresa and Heaven are still missing, a definite connection cannot be made,” said a statement released Tuesday by investigators, “but the similarities are striking.”
This has prompted the task force to release two drawings of a man witnesses said was seen with Shannon about 2:30 p.m. on the day she vanished.
The task force describes him as follows:
“In this case the task force really wants to bring attention to the mole under his eye which was described as having two hairs growing out of it toward his nose.

Eleven-year old Teresa Melissa Dean was last seen around eight o’clock in the evening near her home. She has not been seen or heard from since. Despite an extensive search, police unearthed no clues to help them discover what happened to her. Teresa was last seen on August 15, 1999 on Lawrence Drive in Macon, Georgia.

Teresa’s photo is shown age-progressed to 17 years. She was last seen on August 15, 1999.
Missing Twiggs girl may be victim of serial abductor (Teresa Melissa Dean)
An 11-year-old Twiggs County girl who disappeared seven years ago might have been the victim of a serial abductor.
Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum is headed to Prattville, Ala., today to discuss the disappearance of Teresa Melissa Dean seven years ago with authorities investigating disappearances of two Alabama girls.
“If I can stay in office long enough, we’re going to solve this case. That’s my goal,” said Mitchum, who has Teresa’s picture and a composite sketch of a suspect hanging in the lobby of his office.
Mitchum and his colleagues plan to meet with representatives of the “America’s Most Wanted” television program.
“What we’re trying to do is get America’s Most Wanted to do a story on it,” Mitchum said. “We’re going to take this opportunity to get exposure for our case.”
Alabama authorities believe the same person could be responsible for all three cases.
(Macon.com)
Were there other victims? Police explore possibility of serial abductions
Prattville Police Sgt. Robert Furlong, the lead investigator on the Paulk case, declined to go into details of the investigation, but said the similar circumstances in each case led detectives to take a closer look at the Dean and Ross disappearances.
(Montgomery Advisor)
America’s Most Wanted will be doing a TV show Saturday, September 2, 2006 spotlighting this case.
At around 2:30 p.m. on August 15, 1999, 11 year-old Teresa left her trailer in Twiggs County, Ga. to go to a neighbor’s trailer to play with some puppies. The neighbor told Teresa that if she could catch one of the puppies, she could take it home. Police say that Teresa told the neighbor was she going home to get her brother to help her bring a puppy home.
Teresa never made it home. She also doesn’t have a brother.
-
Police say a neighbor, who lived a few doors down from Heaven’s home, saw her walk by. And another neighbor, close to the bus stop, says she didn’t see the child at all.
Discussion Forum regarding 3 similar cases can be found here.

This is all about children. It tells children in our country that they are precious and are cared about — even though they don’t have any money, or vote or lobby — that we will take care of them.” (Reve Walsh)
Today, 25th anniversary of Adam Walsh’s abduction and murder, President George W. Bush signed the “Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act” into law in a special Rose Garden event. This ground breaking law will finally put teeth in the fight against child sexual predators. It is about time that the United States take this epidemic seriously. All too often offenses against children were brushed aside as “children do not vote”. However, the abduction, sexual exploitation, rape and murder of children has come to the forefront of the American conscience. Congratulations John Walsh … you are a hero to so many for your endless work for the protection of children.
The transcript from President George W. Bush regarding H.R. 4472, the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006
Fact Sheet: The Adam Walsh Child Protection And Safety Act Of 2006
A thank you from John Walsh and his family.
This is an incredible week for myself and my family and other parents of murdered or missing children.
I want to thank all of you who have supported us to make sure this bill got to the President.
I’m elated that we finally have a piece of child protection legislation at the federal level that will truly make a difference.
(The rest of his comments …)
H.R. 4472 Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act
From the Rose Garden President George W. Bush went on to say:
“Our nation grieves with every family that’s suffered the unbearable pain of a child whose been abducted or abused,” Bush said in a bill-signing ceremony in the Rose Garden. “This law takes an important step forward in this country’s efforts to protect those who cannot protect themselves.”
The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act will find more than 100,000 sex offenders by creating the first national on-line listing available to the public and searchable by ZIP code. The Child advocates have called the bill the most sweeping sex offender legislation to target pedophiles in years. Unfortunately the ACLU will call it discriminatory or their next crusade. The new law will allow the following:
—Establish a comprehensive federal DNA database of material collected from convicted molesters, and procedures for the routine DNA collection and comparison to the database when someone has been convicted of such an offense.
—Provide federal funding for states to track pedophiles using global positioning devices.
—Allow victims of child abuse to sue their molesters.
The law imposes a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years for raping a child; a mandatory 10-year penalty for sex trafficking offenses involving children and for coercing child prostitution; and increases minimum sentences for molesters who travel between states.
It is hard to imagine that the penalty is greater for illegally downloading songs off the internet than images of children. Even Democrat and former Presidential Candidate John Kerry is on board with President Bush on this one. Please do not waffle of this one Senator Kerry, our children’s safety is too important to be politicized. I congratulate the Senator from Massachusetts and all those who joined the President on this important legislation.
“It’s an absolute outrage that the penalty for downloading songs illegally off the Internet was three times the penalty for downloading disgusting images of children,” Kerry said. “We need to do everything we can to end the disgrace of child pornography. This is a start.”
