Erica Bradley Still Missing, Relatives Believe Boyfriend Derek Maynor is Hiding Information

Erica Bradley has been missing since November 6, 2006 from Allendale, SC. There has been little evidence in her disappearance for investigators to go on. However, relatives of the missing Erica Bradley believe that her boyfriend, Derek Maynor, knows more than he is telling.

According to the Allendale Sheriff Department, 18-year-old Derek Maynor, Erica’s boyfriend and the father of her nine-month-old son, remains a suspect. They say they don’t have enough evidence to charge him.

Now, Erica’s grandmother makes a plea for justice.

“Derek, we loved Erica and we loved the baby. Whatever you did to Erica, would you please let law enforcement know,” pleads Annie Wright, Erica’s grandmother.

Wright says Erica was with Derek the night she went missing. She says they were fighting because Erica thought he was seeing another woman in Appleton.

Erica Breadley’s mother thinks that something very much different occurred.

Erica’s mother thinks it went even further than that, saying she thinks he killed her.

News 10 tried contacting Derek to get his side of the story, but he didn’t return the call. Now, as the search continues, all Erica’s family can do is wait.

“My belief and hope is that she is still somewhere alive,” says Wright. (WIS TV)

“We want to search every square inch…and I truly don’t feel she’s very far away from us,” said Equusearch director Tim Miller.

Miller and his group are combing a few hundred square miles on foot, four wheelers, and with the help of a well-trained sense of smell. Miller says the mild landscape, relatively flat and dry, ill help the mission.

“This family needs closure. This town does,” Miller said. “It’s a terrible loss.”

Sheriff Tom Carter, Jr., speaks about another grim possibility in the missing person case, “It’s been eight days. Even if she was just hurt, every day there is less and less chance of finding her alive. And I hate to say that, but that’s reality.”

But Monday night, the family was hopeful. Jackie Bradley couldn’t hold back the tears at a vigil for Erica’s return, “I want to see my baby.” (WISTV)
