The father-in-law of a woman whose body was found earlier this month in a shallow grave after she was missing for more than five months has been charged with concealing her death.
Harold Danny Ray, 54, of Ball Ground also was indicted Monday on charges of tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension of a felon.
Ray’s son, Quinton Ray, has been jailed in Pickens County on murder charges since the body of his wife, Sueann, was found Feb. 8.

Father, Son Indicted in Slaying
A grand jury in Pickens County indicted the husband and father-in-law of a murdered woman Monday on charges related to her death, District Attorney Joe Hendricks told 11Alive News.
Sueann Ray’s husband, Quinton Ray, has been indicted on charges of malice murder, felony murder, kidnapping, concealing a death, and tampering with evidence.
Quinton Ray’s father, Harold Danny Ray, is accused of helping his son bury the body. The elder Ray has been indicted on charges of concealing a death, tampering with evidence, and hindering the apprehension of a criminal.
The sad ending has come to the search for missing SueAnn Ray as her body turned up in northern Cherokee County. Quinton Ray, the estranged husband, of Sue Ann Ray has been charged with her murder. Once again who is being charged with the murder, but the last person to have seen the victim alive.
Cherokee police told 11Alive’s Kevin Rowson they believe Quinton Ray killed his wife, Sue Ann, in Pickens County. Authorities have not confirmed how they know that, but are likely to release more details regarding their investigation at a news conference set for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Quinton had long been a person of interest in Sue Ann’s disappearance in August 2005.
Ray’s husband admits he may be the last person to have seen Sue Ann alive, but he maintains he has done nothing wrong.

Body Of Missing Woman Found
GBI officials say they found Ray’s body in a shallow grave in northern Cherokee County.
An autopsy is being done on the body to determine the cause of death. A news conference is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

A group of about 30 people gathered in the parking lot of a Canton Wal-Mart Sunday night to pray for a mother who has been missing for nearly five months. 26-year-old Sue Ann Ray disappeared in late August.
The group released balloons in to the air carrying information about Sue Ann Ray.
“Who knows where the balloons will pop?” Ray’s sister, Sandy Chasm, told WSB-TV. “It may land in the right people’s hands who saw someone parking this van here, who saw someone taking her wherever they took her.”
Ray’s 6-year-old daughter, Charity, lives with her godmother, Leslie Colley, who says the girl asks where her mother is.
“I don’t know the answer,”Colley said. “I just tell her that we’re trying to find her. I can’t tell her that she’s not coming back. I can’t tell her that she is coming back.”
Sue Ann Ray’s family has hired an private investigator and the reward for information to the where abouts of Sue Ann is up to $105,000. Sue Ann Ray’s estranged husband, Quinton Ray, is the last person to see her alive. The police are still not calling him a suspect. It has obviously taken its toll on the family as Sue Ann’s father made the following comment:
For Ray’s father, Danny Jenkins, not knowing has been difficult.
“If hell is any worse than this, I don’t know,” Jenkins said. “It’s tough not knowing where your little girl is, whether she’s laying out in the woods rotting, whether she went through a wood-chipper like I was told.”

The review of calls between her estranged husband, Quinton Ray, and his family are among a number of police activities that have come to light since the case fell under a national spotlight over the weekend when her friend and family posted a $105,000 reward.
