18 year old Jalesa Reynolds has been missing since February 22, 2010 when she was last seen at the Scotland Neck Memorial Library around 11 am. Police have since searched the wooded area around the library to no avail.

Jalesa Reynolds description:
- African-America
- 5 foot 2 inches tall
- 220 pounds
- medium complexion
- short black hair
- She was wearing tan pants, a pink shirt and a blue-jean jacket with a flower design on the back.
According to reports, the police have traced Reynolds’ Internet activity to a computer at a home on the 200 block of Cemetery Road.
Investigators said they have since traced Reynolds’ Internet activity to a computer at a home on the 200 block of Cemetery Road. They think she went to the home after going to the library.
Investigators said the man who owns the residence where Reynolds accessed the computer is a person of interest in her disappearance.
Police Trace Facebook To Find Missing Woman
Police say she logged off her account around lunchtime last Monday at the public library.
Then, around 1:40 in the afternoon she checked back in using a computer located in this neighborhood.
There’s been no sign of her since.
“That’s the key piece of the puzzle,“ Williams said.
Her family says it was out of character for her not to come home.
“Stayed to herself, very shy, you know, ordinary teenager, just loved computers,“ said Reynold’s cousin Frederick Lassiter.
Jalesa Reynolds didn’t have a computer at home.
So, she came to this library almost every day to use the internet and Facebook.
Police continue to search for missing Jalesa Reynolds, search the residence where she last logged on to Facebook and seized the computer.
Chief Joe Williams says records indicate she logged onto a social networking Web site around 11 a.m. At 1:39 p.m., she logged onto a computer at a residence on Cemetary Road, which is about 1.5 miles northwest of town. Police believe she left the home between 2 and 3 p.m.
Williams says officers questioned the owner of the residence and seized his computer. The machine is being examined by the SBI in Raleigh.
ABC11 Eyewitness News has learned the house where police believe Reynolds last logged onto a computer is also the home of a registered sex offender.
Police won’t say what role - if any - it may play in Reynolds’s disappearance.
The fact that a convicted sex offender lives at the residence that Jalesa Reynolds is on record to have been in can’t be a good sign. Dwayne Davis is being considered a person of interest.
WITN News has learned that a convicted sex offender lives at a home where deputies say a missing teenager was last seen more than a week ago.
The North Carolina Sex Offender Registry says Dwayne Davis lives at 285 Cemetery Road in Scotland Neck. That’s where police say Jalesa Reynolds was last heard from a week ago Monday. Davis served six years of a 15 year sentence from Martin County for second degree rape and was released from prison in 2000.
A law enforcement source tells WITN that Davis is a person of interest in the case.
Anyone with information about Reynolds’ whereabouts is asked to contact Scotland Neck police at 252-826-4111.

AMY VARGAS MISSING IN CANCUN

16 Year old Amy Vargas is missing while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico with her grandmother and great grandmother. Amy Vargas went missing on January 28, 2010 where according to Vargas’ grandmother while they were at the pool, Vargas asked to use the restroom and never returned. Vargas disappeared while taking a bathroom break from a pickup baseball game on the beach Thursday. According to authorities who interviewed resort employees, they believe Amy Vargas left the property with two other men.
Family members said they checked into Great Parnasus Hotel last Saturday and Amy Vargas disappeared on Thursday shortly after she spoke to her mother by phone.
“She said, ‘I’m with grandma. I’m fine. I love you and I’ll see you soon,’” said Vargas’ mother D’An Simmons.
Vargas’ grandmother said while they were at the pool, Vargas asked to use the restroom and never returned.
The family is convinced that she did not leave willingly. Who ever may have taken her knew what they were doing as investigators tried to track Vargas through her cell phone; however, it appears the phone was turned off shortly after she disappeared.
Eastpointe teen goes missing in Cancun

Simmons is preparing to fly to Chicago, where she will make a plea for an emergency passport to travel to Mexico to help in an effort to find Vargas.
“That is the only thing keeping me calm,” she said of the preparations. “I just want her back safe.”
Simmons said the FBI, police in Mexico and the resort’s security team are working hard to find her daughter and she praised their efforts.
The FBI office in Detroit on Saturday confirmed they had received a missing person report for an area juvenile but declined to comment further on the case.
Simmons said her daughter is no stranger to traveling safely and over the summer visited St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She said Vargas planned this trip to coincide with mid-terms wrapping up at Dakota High School; she is in the 10th grade.
