It had been reported earlier that there was a tow truck at the lake site that was being searched.
According to sources the vehicle of Jodi Sanderholm, a black 2003 Dodge Stratus, has been found at the Cowley State Fishing Lake. Volunteer members of Texas EquuSearch found the car today within minutes of putting their boat in the water. This area had been an area of interest with searches yesterday as well by authorities.
The vehicle is now out of the water and on a flatbed truck. The investigators will now scour the black 2003 Dodge Stratus for clues.
We continue to pray for Jodi Sanderholm, friends and family.
Updates to follow …

UPDATE III (6:15 CDT): Body Found, PD Preparing Charges
We had been hearing rumors all day that a body may have been found. It is now being reported that a body has been found in a rural area. They have not stated whether it is Jodi, but its hard to imagine it is not. Sadly enough.
1-9-06 – Searchers found the body of a female early this morning in a rural area of southeast Cowley County. By noon on Tuesday, they recovered Jodi Sanderholm’s car from the Cowley County lake. Police also say they are preparing charges against a known suspect.
In a statement released from the Arkansas City Police Department Tuesday night, authorities would not say if the body was that of Sanderholm. They did say the body would be transferred to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center for identification and autopsy. (KAKE)
Body Found in Kansas Missing Student Case
The body has been taken to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center in Wichita for identification and autopsy, according to a news release.
The release said authorities were “preparing a charging document against a known suspect. The exact charges will be released at a later date.” (AP)

As was reported last night, Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch were asked by authorities to help search for missing 19 year old Jodi Sanderholm. They arrived today to discuss a game plan with authorities and should begin searching.
Mr. Miller is awaiting further contact and will be on a plane to the area within hours. Please keep Jodi and her family as well as all involved in this search in your prayers. (Texas Equusearch.org)
Searchers focus on lake: Residents are asked to check outbuildings for woman’s car
(Wichita Eagle)
The search for a missing Arkansas City woman focused Monday on Cowley State Fishing Lake. Divers explored the lake on U.S. 166 near 256th Road, about 15 miles east of downtown Arkansas City, for any trace of 19-year-old Jodi Sanderholm, who has been missing since Friday.
“We’ve recovered evidence out there, and we’re continuing to recover evidence,” interim Police Chief Sean Wallace told The Eagle.
Jodi Sanderholm’s Myspace account
From Greta Van Susteren, “On the Record“.
VAN SUSTEREN: What kind of car was she driving?
WALLACE: She was driving a 2003 black Dodge Stratus four-door. It’s got a Kansas tag of WOT-921. And on the front of the car, there is a personalized tag in airbrushed “Jodi” on the front, and does have a sunroof.
VAN SUSTEREN: So by now, she would have had – if she were driving someplace, would have had to probably get gasoline. I take it that you’ve checked to see if her credit cards, gas cards have been used.
WALLACE: We’ve been following her credit cards and her gas cards and there’s also – the vehicle’s in NNCIC (ph). If it were to get pulled over anywhere or stopped anywhere, it would show as a missing person’s vehicle. That’s one of the things that makes us concerned.
VAN SUSTEREN: Any activity on the credit cards?
WALLACE: No activity whatsoever.
—
VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Now, there was someone that you – that was investigated on Sunday, I think, is that right? Someone was talked to?
WALLACE: Yes. Because of some previous reports we had about an individual who had stalked some dance line girls and had showed some interest in them, and because of their fears of this individual, we did talk with him. He was interviewed, and he – we arrested him on some unrelated charges that were based on an investigation that we had ongoing prior to Jodi coming up missing. So he’s in jail right now on about a $35,000 bond for two unrelated charges. And we’ll continue to work that avenue and continue talk with him through his attorney, as he’s asked to not talk with us without her.
VAN SUSTEREN: All right. So you have not cleared him, in short.
WALLACE: Not completely, no.
UPDATE: Within the noon hour, police brought two tow trucks and an ambulance to the scene at the lake where they’ve been searching.
Police aren’t saying if they’ve located anything, or specifically what the tow trucks and ambulance are for. They did tell Eyewitness News yesterday, that they recovered what they call “evidence” in the case of the missing 19-year-old. (KWCH)

Erica Bradley has been missing since early November of 2006 in Allendale, SC. Now Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch have joined he search for the missing 17 year old Bradley.
The search attempts up to this point have turned up pieces of evidence here and there, but none of them led to Erica. Now, as time continues to pass and the trail gets colder by the day, the family says they’re more determined than ever to get answers.
Erica Bradley’s mother Jackie and the rest of the family will leave no stone unturned until they find her.
“I want to see her walk through those doors,” Jackie Bradley told News 12. “It’s been hard not knowing where she’s at.”
The trail has been a hard and long one for the entire family. Erica disappeared November 6 after leaving her job at a local Hardees. Since then, law enforcement turned up clothes, socks and shoes, pieces of hair extensions, and other things in the woods. But so far, those leads haven’t been enough. (WRDW)
With the leads not providing enough clues as to Erica Bradley’s whereabouts, enter Tim Miller and Texas Equusearch volunteers to the help.
“We want to search every square inch…and I truly don’t feel she’s very far away from us,” said Equusearch director Tim Miller.
Miller and his group are combing a few hundred square miles on foot, four wheelers, and with the help of a well-trained sense of smell. Miller says the mild landscape, relatively flat and dry, ill help the mission.
“This family needs closure. This town does,” Miller said. “It’s a terrible loss.”

Kimberlee Ramsey, 15, and Cody Birdwell, 17, Missing in Galveston, TX have been missing for 10 days. What makes this case even more intriguing is that a third teen also went missing, 15 year old Terressa Vanegas. Vanegas was found dead in a field last week. Apparently she was killed after leaving a Halloween party. Terressa Vabegas and Kimberlee Ramsey are best friends.
Texas EquuSearch has been volunteering in the efforts to search for the missing teens. Texas EquuSearch is assisting Terressa Vanegas’ family with funeral arrangements and support during this difficult time.
The search will continue with dogs and more Equusearch volunteers. There is no real evidence to suggest the teens are in the area that is being searched, but there is a lot of concern, given what happened there only last week.
Just a few yards from a football field, a search is underway for two teens who haven’t been seen by their families for 10 days. The search was occurring on the same day funeral services were being held for Terressa Vanegas, 15. Her body was found last week near the same field.
Vanegas had apparently been killed Halloween night after leaving a party. Vanegas and Kimberlee Ramsey, the missing girl, were best friends. Their friends are now frightened by the connection.
Ramsey, 15, has run away from home before. Last month she returned from a camp in Utah for problem adolescents. She disappeared from her Bacliff home two days before Vanegas went missing.
“We think she’s still around our area somewhere,” said Rodney Ramsey, Kimberlee’s father. (ABC – KTRK)
Description of Kimberlee Ramsey:
- 5 feet, 8 inches tall
- about 155 pounds
- green eyes
- brown hair with blond highlights
- She was last seen wearing jeans, a blue football jersey and black house shoes.
If anyone has any information please call Texas EquuSearch at 281–309–9500 or the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office at 409–766–2322.

56 year old Walter Benskin of Santa Fe, TX was last seen on October 25, 2006 in the Ripple Creek area of Rio Blanco County. Benskin was on a hunting trip with his son-in-law when they became separated
The son-in-law later went back to camp to grab a jacket, but Benskin never returned.
Authorities say a storm quickly moved into the area and dumped up to two feet of snow.
Crews searched for three days but found no sign of Benskin, and scaled back their efforts on Saturday.
Deputies say he wasn’t dressed for the storm and had no survival gear. (KWTX)
Search resumes in Colorado for local man
The search was back on Tuesday afternoon for a Santa Fe man lost during a hunting trip in Colorado.
Authorities with the Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office had called off the hunt Tuesday morning, but resumed a small-scale operation after a private search company in Colorado offered its help.
“At this point, I have reactivated it, and they are back on the scene,” said Mike Cook, sheriff’s office dispatcher. (Galveston Daily News)

The investigation continues into the disappearance of 2 year old Trenton Duckett. With the recent events of Melinda Duckett’s suicide, the investigation has certainly been thrown for a loop. The national media exposure created by the Nancy Grace Show has created some new leads according to police.
Police in Leesburg say last night’s national TV exposure of the Trenton Duckett case is again drumming up new leads.
TV host and legal analyst Nancy Grace featured Trenton on her show again Monday night. Police say the broadcast generated new and credible leads that they are following up on today.
(Central Florida News 13)
Of course the spot light of appearing on Nancy Grace also seems to have created a set back in the case of missing Trenton Duckett in that Melinda Duckett committed suicide shortly after her interview for the program. However, the fact remains and should be focussed on the fact that there is a 2 year old missing child out there and his name is Trenton Duckett.
Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch was interviewed last evening on Nancy Grace and had this to say with regards to searching for Trenton Duckett and offering help to the search.
To Tim Miller with Texas Equusearch, also a crime victim himself. What`s your best advice to help the police? They`re doing everything they`ve got. You`ve conducted more searches than any of us put together, Tim.
TIM MILLER, TEXAS EQUUSEARCH: Thank you, Nancy. Thanks for having me on.
You know, No. 1, this is just a tremendous tragedy for everybody involved. And you know, we`ve had so much success with finding victims out there and the problem being is that Trenton`s been gone a long time now. Just two weeks ago, we found a lady on the 19th day of her disappearance, and it took 10 days to even get her identified.
GRACE: What`s your advice to the police?
MILLER: You know, right now, I think the search needs to go on. We`re certainly offering our resources to come out there. The sooner Trenton`s found, let`s hope he`s alive. Let`s hold on to that miracle. But if he`s not, we need to find him, determine that cause of death.
They`ll have a crime scene and then they can be really put a case together. So, again, we`re willing to offer anything we can do, but you know what? This search needs to continue. We`ve done a lot of research on this. We know there`s a lot of water around there; there`s a lot of areas. And we will — we`re willing to help any way that they can help.
GRACE: And of course, you know everyone, Tim Miller has volunteered to do searches all over the world, including in Aruba for Natalee Holloway.
(Full Nancy Grace Transcript 9/11/06)
We had the opportunity to speak to Tim Miller this afternoon regarding Texas EquuSearch’s involvement in the case of missing Trenton Duckett. Tim Miller said, “he is offering the Leesburg Police TES as a search resource”. Tim Miller also went on to say, “that if Trenton is not found soon, TES could be involved in the case as soon as Thursday or Friday of this week.” Tim Miller said “there is a lot of water in the area so they could bring in boats and the aerial plane to scout potential areas”. Tim Miller will play it by ear and wait for the police’s request for their help.
We can all hope that Trenton Duckett is found sooner rather than later.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the Texas EquuSearch fund raiser in Houston, TX (HOGS & HORSES). So much has gone on since I got back that I had failed to mention the great event and the tremendous people that took part. Hats off to Tim Miller and the TES gang for the tremendous and selfless job that they do.
The food, the people, the preparation and the giving were all a major part of the event. Tim Miller and the Texas EquuSearch volunteers give so much of themselves to the cause of “Missing Person’s.” Such an event like Hogs and Horses is just a nice opportunity to give back to TES and help fund raise for a great cause. For those interested they can donate to Texas EquuSearch, a non-profit with 5013c status HERE.
Texas EquuSearch came to the forefront of many people’s attention with their search efforts for Natalee Holloway in Aruba. However, they have done so many more searches prior to Natalee’s disappearance and after.
Texas EquuSearch is always ready for the call as Missing Persons knows no time frame. As the event took place at the very end of the day, a double AMBER ALERT was called in on two missing children. Luckily they were both found later unharmed. The very next day when Tim Miller was driving me to the airport a call came in to report a missing man last seen on his boat fishing. To keep up with the many cases is next to impossible. To make the effort to help the many families in need is an act of kindness and caring that is without limits.
Take a look at the event through the many pictures. Thank you Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch for invited Scared Monkeys to Hogs and Horses. The people were salt of the earth … next time just remind me that I am supposed to have a speech ready.
What is a barbecue fund raiser without the hardworking crew preparing the brisket?

more to follow …
