What the hell is going on in this country? Since when do we parole convicted child murders? What the hell is the justice and parole departments thinking? What is the end result? Another murder!!!
Indiana State Police confirmed that the body of 16 year old Stephanie Faye Wagner was found Wednesday night after she had disappeared on Tuesday night after leaving work.
Danny R. Rouse, a 51-year-old convicted child murderer, has confessed to the murder and brought police to the body of missing 16 year old Stephanie Wagner. Stephanie Wagner had been missing and an AMBER ALERT had been issued regarding her possible abduction. The AMBER ALERT was canceled after a co -worker told police where they could find her body.
Investigators found the body of Stephanie Wagner in a northwestern Indiana field Wednesday night after the co-worker, Danny R. Rouse, told them where to look and confessed to killing her, police said.
Prosecutor Kevin Enyeart said he expected to charge Rouse with murder later Thursday. The court hearing was to continue Friday.
Rouse and Wagner left the Indian Head Restaurant, where they both worked, at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Her mother reported her missing about six hours later.
Maybe some one would like to explain to this distraught family and the community how this
scum bag was walking the streets? Danny Rouse is a convicted child killer. He spent 26 years in prison for stabbing a 5 year old boy to death. So what’s he do after he is paroled? Stabs a teenager to death. The Kansas Parole board she be found guilt of aiding in the murder of Stephanie Wagner.
Rouse was convicted in the 1979 murder of a 5-year-old boy and stabbing of the child’s mother. He was paroled in March after spending 26 years in a Kansas prison.
Upon his release in March, Rouse requested that he be allowed to move to Indiana. His parole supervision was then transferred to a South Bend parole office. (

Someone really needs to explain why Danny Rouse was not in jail for life without parole. The taking of someone’s life means that you actually get to walk a free person? I do not think so. The Kansas Parole Board has some explaining. Seven months after this killer was paroled, he kills again. Read why this killer was in prison in the first place. He was convicted of First degree murder.
Rouse was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1979 slaying of Jason Learst at a Wichita, Kan., apartment, The Wichita Eagle reported today. Rouse also was convicted of stabbing of the boy’s mother, Kathryn Crowley.
During Rouse’s jury trial, witnesses testified that Rouse and Crowley drank beer and smoked marijuana while watching television at Crowley’s apartment. Crowley rejected a verbal sexual advance, after which he stabbed or cut her with a knife 12 times, according to court testimony.
The attack ended when Crowley collapsed and pretended to be dead. Kansas police said Rouse then went to Jason’s bedroom and cut the boy’s throat as he slept.
Rouse pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity at his trial, but a jury convicted him of first-degree murder. (

Brian Rooney was the last person seen with Michelle Gardner-Quinn alive as surveillance videos captured. Brian Rooney has a past of sexually allegations against him. Prosecutors have stated that they have strong DNA evidence linking Brian Rooney to Michelle Gardner-Quinn. So what did Brian Rooney plead in Court with regards to the strangling and murder of Michelle Gardner-Quinn … not guilty of course.
Rooney, 36, is charged with aggravated murder in the Oct. 7 death of Michelle Gardner-Quinn, a University of Vermont senior who turned up dead six days after disappearing while walking back to campus after a night out with friends.
“We’d like to remind people that Brian is presumed innocent, and he’s in fact innocent,” said attorney David Sleigh. “We intend to test the strength of the state’s case in a court of law.” (Times Argus)
Let’s just cut to the chase and stop the drama. Yes, people are innocent until proven guilty … let’s make a prediction here … GUILTY. Why do all these excuses sound so familiar from case to case?
Rooney, who told police he was intoxicated the night he met Gardner-Quinn, said when he was arrested on unrelated sex charges that he didn’t remember what happened that night and must have blacked out, according to the affidavit released Wednesday.
“I honestly don’t know what I did that night. If I did it I deserve to die,” he said, according to the affidavit. (Times Argus)
Unfortunately, VT does not have the death penalty. Rooney only faces life without parole if convicted.

It would appear that Christopher Luttrell has admitted to the murder of social worker, Boni Frederick, when he and Renee Terrell kidnapped Saige Terrell. Luttrell also apologized to all that he hurt.
When asked if he killed social worker Boni Frederick, Luttrell replied, “Yes, ma’am,” according to Nevels and reporters who were present.
It may be a bit too late for apologies as these two are in a world of trouble.
Authorities allege the couple fled three days earlier after killing Frederick, 67, and abducting Terrell’s 10-month-old son, Saige. Frederick had taken the boy to Terrell’s home in Henderson for a visit.
The baby was found unharmed and has been returned to foster parents in Union County, Ky.
Federal prosecutors in Kentucky initially charged the couple with fleeing to avoid prosecution on kidnapping charges, but have dropped their charges so state authorities could prosecute the two on felony murder, kidnapping, robbery and theft charges, Nevels said. (Houston Chronicle)
Mother denies killing aide
HENDERSON, Ky. – A Henderson woman charged with kidnapping her 9-month-old child after killing a social service aide offered insight into the crimes Thursday but denied involvement in the killing.
During a 40-minute news conference at the Henderson County Detention Center, Renee Terrell, 33, answered a range of questions, refused to address others and generally painted herself as a victim rather than a suspect. (Evansville Courier Press)

Brian Rooney, the last known person to be seen with Michelle Gardner-Quinn has been charged with murder. Brian Rooney was officially charged with aggravated homicide, which generally indicates murder during sexual assault or attempted sexual assault.
BURLINGTON, Vt. – A man seen on surveillance video walking with a college student who was found beaten and strangled a week later was charged Wednesday with murder.

Rooney had been identified as a primary suspect in the 21-year-old Arlington, Va., woman’s death. Analysts at the State Crime Lab discovered animal hairs on the clothing of murdered 17 year old Casey Crowder, a senior at Watson Chapel High School. The prosecutors now wish to collect DNA from the pets of Kenneth Osburn, the 46 year old truck driver who is charged with capital murder and kidnapping of Casey Crowder.
Analysts at the state Crime Lab recovered animal hair resembling that of a dog and cat on Crowder’s clothing, according to an affidavit for a warrant to collect DNA from Osburn’s dogs and cats.
Prosecutor Thomas Deen says an out-of-state lab will need to analyze the animals’ DNA because the Arkansas crime lab does not perform mitochondrial DNA testing on animal hairs. (KATV)
And in typical defense attorney fashion, Osburn’s attorney, Bing Colvin said, “investigators ‘mentally tortured’ Osburn to obtain a confession of Crowder’s murder.” Cry us a river … please. According to Court documents there was an affidavit that included an alleged confession.
Kenneth Osburn was arrested for the death of Casey Crowder September 28th. According to court papers Osburn “admitted that he caused the death of Casey Crowder. He admitted that he took Casey to 43 Canal in his Chevrolet truck where her body was found.”
Crowder’s body was discovered by National Guard troops on September 2 in a wooded area in Desha County. She ran out of gasoline six days earlier and disappeared while walking along Highway 65.
Osburn’s attorney, who declined an interview, says the alleged confession came after his client was questioned for 23 hours and repeatedly denied council.
Documents go on to say agents noticed “numerous scratches on both arms and one small cut on one of his arms”. (KATV)

There has been a big break in the murder investigation of Michelle Gardner-Quinn. We have a match. A DNA sample taken from the pants of the prime suspect, Brian Rooney, in the disappearance and murder of Michelle Gardner-Quinn has been found to be hers.
The blood was found on the blue jeans of Brian L. Rooney, 36, giving police at least one piece of physical evidence allegedly linking the man they call their prime suspect to the Oct. 7 disappearance of Gardner-Quinn.
Rooney, who has denied any involvement in the woman’s disappearance but is being held on unrelated sex charges, was ordered by Vermont District Court Judge Michael Kupersmith to submit to DNA testing during a closed-door hearing Thursday, according to David Sleigh, his court-appointed lawyer.
It appears that the court appointed attorney for Brian Rooney let the cat out of the bag even though the court hearing was supposed to be closed. This could be the beginning of the end for Brian Rooney and the piece needed to prove who was responsible for the murder of Michelle Gardner-Quinn.
That was revealed by David Sleigh, a court appointed lawyer for Mr. Rooney in an interview with the Associated Press. He said the DNA evidence was revealed at a hearing, a hearing that Sleigh thought was open, when it was actually closed. (WCAX)
DNA match even though mums the word because of a sealed affidavit.
In an affidavit, prosecutors said a Vermont State Police analysis showed the DNA samples to match, according to Sleigh.
Deputy Chittenden County State’s Attorney Justin Jiron would not confirm or deny the DNA match when asked Thursday, saying the affidavit was under seal. “I’m not allowed to talk about the results,” Jiron said.
Neither Police Chief Thomas Tremblay nor Lt. Kathleen Stubbing would confirm it, either.
District Court refused to release the affidavit, saying it was under seal.
A search of the suspects home on Monday revealed the following.
In a Monday search of Rooney’s parents’ home in Richmond, police found photographs and videotapes of naked women, one of which was labeled with the girlfriend’s name and showed a woman lying face down on a bed, making no movements as she was sexually assaulted.
The latest charges could put Rooney away for life. (Burlington Free Press)
From the material found during searches and the past allegations against Brian Rooney, one wonders what the police in Vermont were thinking by having this predator walk the streets. Its okay to press charges against Brian Rooney now, but not in the past?

A surveillance tape from a gas station in Smithboro has recorded the vehicle wanted in the AMBER ALERT and the case of missing 10 month old Saige Terrell. Also a credit card purchase indicates that those wanted, Renee Terrell and Renee Terrell’s boyfriend, Christopher Wayne Luttrell were at this location.
VIDEO
Police said they believe Renee Terrell, the baby and Luttrell left in Frederick’s 2000 white Daewoo Nubira station wagon, which had Kentucky license plate 675-DRV.
Amber Alerts were issued for the baby in Indiana and Kentucky. The Indiana alert was issued because Renee Terrell has relatives in that state.
Smithboro is about 50 miles northeast of St. Louis.

Stephen Poaches was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of LaToyia Figueroa and her unborn baby. Poaches was sentenced to life in prison without parole as he waived his rights to an appeal in exchange for the prosecutors taking the death penalty off the table.
Figueroa was five-months pregnant when she disappeared in 2005. Her case drew national attention after a blogger asked national news organizations why the disappearances of a white woman had drawn a lot of attention while that of Figueroa – who was black and Hispanic – had not. (ABC 6)
What a sad state of affairs when an individual takes the life of two people because LaToyia Figueroa refused to have an abortion.
In his closing argument yesterday, Vega said Poaches had strangled Figueroa, a West Philadelphia mother of a 7-year-old girl, on July 18, 2005, because she refused to have an abortion.
“He asked her, and she said she would not have an abortion,” Vega said. “What do you do? You plan to get rid of her.” (Philadelphia Enquirer)
Of course the defense argued unsuccessfully that Poaches temper got the best of him and he killed Figueroa in the heat of an argument. Because that some how makes killing someone who is defenseless better. Just another defense trick to try and get the premeditation aspect of the crime taken away; however, thankfully Judge M. Teresa Sarmina saw through the nonsense.
Defense attorney Michael Coard argued that Poaches had strangled Figueroa in the heat of an argument, without premeditation.
“How many times has it been seen that a defendant with access to a firearm would strangle someone?” he asked.
Coard also noted Poaches’ statement to police that “I accidentally let my temper get the best of me.”

The Vermont Medical Examiners have completed the exams on Michelle Gardner-Quinn and have ruled her death a homicide.
“The Vermont Medical Examiners office has completed Michelle’s exam. We have some preliminary results. The manner of death has been classified as a homicide, with the cause of death listed as pending. The cause of death will be listed as soon as test results from the medical exam and additional information from the investigation becomes available,” continued Stubbing.
Police are still focusing on their primary suspect, Brian Rooney. Rooney has denied any involvement in Michelle Gardner-Quinns death.

(Boston Globe: Brian Rooney)
Brian Rooney, 36, told police he had nothing to do with Gardner-Quinn’s disappearance and death.
In an affidavit released before his court appearance on Monday, Rooney admitted he was the man seen in security camera video walking on Main Street with Gardner-Quinn on the night she disappeared. But Rooney said he and Gardner-Quinn went in separate directions shortly after that point and never saw each other again. (The Boston Globe)

While in court today on an alleged unrelated sex crime, Rooney pleaded not guilty.
Rooney pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault on a child for allegedly molesting a girl under 14 year old back in the late 1990s.
Rooney was ordered held on $150,000 bail.
The police are also trying to locate several of Michelle’s belongings. They are asking for people’s help in that if anyone has seen or located any of the following items.
Police are still looking for several items of Michelle’s, including a silver earring she was wearing. It is described as a sterling silver chandelier type earring. They are also looking for women’s black Converse low-top sneakers, size 8; her Black Puma purse; and her Kyocera Cell phone, which is model KX414. (WCAX)

Oakland police have arrested 41 year old Earl Stefanson is the torture and murder of 36 year old Leslie Lamb. It appears from their investigation that Stefanson may have killed two other woman in his home as well. What they found in Stefanson’s home upon attaining a search warrant was chilling.
VIDEO
Police said they were able to determine that Lamb had not been inside the car where Stefanson claimed to have found her.
Police said they determined Stefanson had a history of abusing Lamb.
When authorities searched his home in the 3400 block of Coolidge Avenue, they found Lamb’s blood and the blood of two other unidentified women.
Police said Stefanson tortured her in a room set up in his basement, which they described as frightening.
(The home on the 3400 block of Coolidge Avenue in Oakland where police arrested Earl Stefanson, SF Chronicle)
The authorities did not go into great detail regarding the basement; however, it was described as something like out of “Silence of the Lambs”. Police are trying to determine who the woman are who the blood belonged to. Stefanson has a history of abusing women. Police are trying to determine whether there are more women out there who may have been abused by Stafanson and ask that they come forward.
It appeared as if Stefanson had made an attempt to clean up the blood and conceal evidence of Lamb having been at the residence, Jones said. At this point, police have no idea who the other two victims are or even whether they are dead or alive.
When police attempted to arrest Stefanson Tuesday night, he led them on a lengthy chase through Oakland and Hayward, Jones said.

A former wife of an Stefanson she had lived in fear of her husband and endured “major abuse” during their relationship a decade ago.
She said the abuse stopped only after she and her husband, Earl Stefanson, were arrested for running a methamphetamine lab in Butte County.
“I was forced to be there. I was afraid to leave,” said the woman, who has since remarried and asked that she not be named because she was afraid for her safety. “I lived in a state of fear.”
Stefanson, 41, the son of an ex-president of the Hells Angels’ Oakland chapter, was charged Thursday with murdering Leslie Lamb, a single mother who police said was his girlfriend. Police said he had a torture chamber in his home in the Oakland foothills and that they fear he may have harmed other women. (San Francisco Chronicle)
Earl Stefanson has quite the checkered past:
-
Ex-wife said she had suffered regular abuse from Stefanson during their five-year marriage. She would not go into details, but said the abuse did not include torture.
-
In 1995, she and Stefanson were arrested for allegedly making methamphetamine and growing marijuana in Oroville (Butte County).
-
Stefanson pleaded no contest in June 1996 and was sentenced to nine years in state prison for running a methamphetamine lab.
-
she had often seen her daughter with black eyes and bruises. “She got away safe,” she said.
-
Court records show that another ex-wife of Stefanson’s, Antonia Gutierrez, obtained a restraining order against him in Fresno County in 1985, alleging harassment.
-
The younger Stefanson had one previous encounter with police in Oakland: In 2004, he pleaded no contest to lewd conduct and being drunk in public after police found him masturbating in a pickup truck near 15th and Castro streets, records show. (
