29 year old Pamela Jo Lane had been missing since May 4, 2007. Her body was found in a shallow grave recovered from Price Cemetery in Bradley County on Friday night. 35 year old Scotty Myers is being charged with her murder.
Authorities said she died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Scotty Myers will be charged with her murder, officials said.
Myers, 35, was arrested on Friday in Bay County, Fla. (Panama City).
He was initially charged with being a fugitive from justice, destruction of evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Lewis James Wilczek, 21, had been missing since April 29, 2007. He was supposed to 
meet someone in St. Cloud, MN but never showed. His pickup truck was found Wednesday. The police arrested a man who was driving it and claimed to be Wilczek. Now police have found the remains in a shallow grave in Mille Lacs County, MN. The remains are being taken to the medical examiners office; however, they are believed to be that of Lewis James Wilczek.
Police Chief Michael Pender said in a statement that the remains were found Saturday and taken to the Anoka County medical examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and for positive identification.
Lewis James Wilczek, 21, disappeared April 29 when he was supposed to meet someone in St. Cloud. His family told police his absence was out of character.
His pickup truck was found Wednesday, and police arrested a man (Jeremy Jason Hull) who was driving it and claimed to be Wilczek He remained in the Stearns County Jail on Sunday for allegedly providing false information to police and outstanding warrants.
Pender said that man “remains a person of interest” in Wilczek’s disappearance. (West Central Tribune)
Jeremy Jason Hull’s past criminal activites:
Hull has a history of various charges around Minnesota. Stearns County charged him recently after he was accused of purchasing items from an auto supply company by charging the parts to a local tire company where he said he worked. Hull did not work for the shop, according to court records.
Hull has been charged in numerous counties for giving false information to police, providing false information on a driver’s license application and check forgery, according to public records. The Stearns County Jail log shows that Hull has also been charged in Dakota County for applying for a driver’s license in the name of a deceased person.
Hull spent 90 days in Sherburne County Jail after a drunken driving conviction in 2004, according to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Body of missing man is found
The search for a Little Falls man apparently ended sadly Saturday when police found a body near Foley.
Sharon Wilczek, the mother of Lewis James Wilczek, 21, said police told her the investigation into her son’s weeklong disappearance has changed from a missing person case to a homicide.
“I can’t believe someone from around here could do something so vicious and so violent,” she said. (St Cloud Times)

The death of Texas A&M student Tynesha Stewart is one of the most heinous and shocking heard in quite some time. The details of her murder are beyond comprehension. The manner in how suspected murdered, Timothy Shepard, strangled, cut up, barbecued and disposed of defies all sense or humanity.
The search for Tynesha was called off yesterday by the Sheriff’s Department as they shared some of the information that they had gained that Tynesha could never be recovered as she was cut up and burned.
“There are no remaining body parts,” Thomas said at a news conference. “We have determined through this investigation that the defendant dismembered the victim and burned her body parts. There is no body to be found. Based on that information, there will be no search. The family is aware of this, and they understand.”
Thomas, who called on local media to give the Stewart family privacy, said Timothy Wayne Shepherd burned Stewart’s body in two barbecue grills on his patio at his apartment in the 17700 block of Red Oak in northwest Harris County. (Houston Chronicle
In a conversation we had with Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch this morning Tim stated the following, “after doing searching for so many years and being exposed to so much, I thought I had seen everything, until this.” Some crimes defy all that is normal and sane. What would possess some one to cut up an individual and then cook them to get rid of a body? How souless an individual must you be? There is a special spot in hell reserved for you Timothy Wayne Shepherd. And you can’t get there soon enough.

Later Friday, investigators said Shepherd may have dismembered her body. And on Saturday, the sheriff announced there would be no search because all the remains had been burned.
Shepherd’s neighbors said Saturday that he was barbecuing at all hours of the day, for days at a time, at his apartment, No. 224.
James Hebert, 18, often played video games and barbecued with his “nice” next-door neighbor. In fact, they cooked out together so frequently Hebert kept his grill at Shepherd’s.
But starting March 15, he noticed Shepherd was cooking — on his grill and on Hebert’s pit — “nonstop” for two days.
This time, however, Shepherd hadn’t invited him over, nor did he share.
When he asked for some of what he was cooking, Shepherd refused, saying it was for a wedding.
On March 16 about 7:45 p.m., Hebert and his roommate, Cithara Gomez, became alarmed when they looked over and saw dark-colored smoke billowing from Shepherd’s patio. (Houston Chronicle)

This is one of the sickest stories we’ve come across in a while. Houston authorities have charged a man for murdering his girlfriend and burning her remains in a patio grill.
UPDATE II: Man Accused of Killing & Cremating Ex-Girlfriend
Members of Texas Equusearch, a search and recovery organization, had planned to conduct their own search for Tynesha Stewart’s body after Shepherd’s original confession, but now say they will focus on supporting her family instead.
Tension had arisen between Stewart’s family and police after Shepherd’s original confession. The family had wanted a search of several Houston area landfills in hopes of finding Tynesha’s body. The Sheriff’s office had decided not to start such a search based on facts uncovered during their investigation, but say they could not tell the family why the landfills weren’t being searched until they were sure her body had been burned. UPDATE III: According to sources there is going to be a protest by black activists in response to the Sheriff’s Department not wanting to do the search. Quanell X, US RepresentativeSheila Jackson Lee and other black leaders are unhappy that even though the suspect Timothy Shepherd states he cut up and burned Tynesha, that bones and other material still may be present to find. According to sources the activists have asked whether Texas EquuSearch was still interested in searching in the landfill. The protest rally according to reports is supposed to take place at the WM landfill.
This situation really needs to be handled before it escalates out of control. We certainly understand the families grief, pain and want to have Tynesha’s remains to bury. It also cannot be finding a needle in a haystack event. Cooler heads need to prevail. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tynesha Stewart and her family.

Monday’s search came just as community activists are scheduled to hold a news conference Tuesday morning demanding Harris County Sheriff’s deputies search a landfill for the remains of Tynesha Stewart.
The activists say they don’t believe Shepherd’s story about the death of the young Aggie coed and think there could be more evidence to be found. Stewart’s family members though said Monday night that a search would be “too traumatic” and that they do not support the push for a new search.
The Harris County District Attorney was also not confirming or denying a report that a search of a trash dumpster last week uncovered a knife in a bag as well as a pair of sweatpants. (KHOU)
UPDATE V: Activists Call for New Search for Tynesha Stewart
Community activists held a news conference concerning the Tynesha Stewart case today. Stewart is the young Texas A&M student brutally murdered, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, Timothy Shepherd.
There were some strong and harsh words from several prominent community leaders at the news conference. Those words were aimed at Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas and his team of investigators.
Everyone speaking today is extremely critical of how investigators handled the Tynesha Stewart case. One person in particular went as far as to call the investigation and the investigators incompetent.
They are now demanding that a search for Stewart’s remains in the landfills be allowed to take place. No one at the news conference is satisfied with what investigators have come up with so far or any statements that Timothy Shepherd may have made to investigators. (ABC-KTRK)
UPDATE VI: Community activists still want search for student’s remains
Even though investigators say Tynesha Stewart’s ex-boyfriend burned her remains after killing her, some community activists still want the Sheriff’s Department to look for her body in a landfill.
“Without a thorough search of the landfill… we don’t know if they (the sheriff’s office) can make the case,” Robert Muhammad of the Nation of Islam said Tuesday at a news conference.
“There are no remaining body parts,” Thomas said.
Although human remains generally require extremely high temperatures to destroy, Thomas would not discuss how he believed the body could be burned to nothing.
The Sheriff’s Department had no response to the persisting calls to go forth with a search, spokesman Lt. John Martin said Tuesday. “Nothing the sheriff said has changed.”
Stewart’s family initially pushed for the search but has since retreated from that position as the investigation unearthed more details about the killing. (Houston Chronicle)

Houston officials have done an about face and reversed their initial decision not to search the landfill/landfills for missing Tynesha Stewart.
Authorities in Houston have approved spending up to $500,000 to search area landfills for the remains of a Texas A&M student whose ex-boyfriend confessed to killing her.
The request comes after angry complaints about the decision not to search for the remains of 19-year-old Tynesha Stewart, who disappeared last week.
Officials reversed their initial decisions to not search the landfills due to cost and improbable outcome of not finding her due to pressure and complaints brought up by black local leaders and activists. Personally, the Houston officials were crazy for not going forth with this search from the outset causing racial unrest especially when volunteer search team Texas EquuSearch had stated they would conduct the search at no cost.
Investigators reconsidered after several high-profile complaints from US Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, state Representative Sylvester Turner and community activist Quannel X. (KWTX)
However, the plans go forward to begin the search for Tynesha Stewart as soon as possibly Wednesday.
Plans are underway to conduct a series of searches for Tynesha Stewart, the Texas A&M coed believed to have been killed by her ex-boyfriend. However, those searches may be difficult after word that the 19-year-old’s body may have been dismembered and spread out in landfills across the region.
The volunteer search organization Texas Equusearch announced Friday it was set to launch an extensive search for Stewart. The search could begin as early as Wednesday said Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller.
On Monday the sheriff’s office, Texas Equusearch and the landfills’ operator Waste Management will meet to go over a plan. Already an area of a landfill in Atascocita had been marked off in preparation for a search. The same was being done at a landfill in Brazoria County. Miller already put out a call for volunteers. Even with Texas EquuSearch’s offer to search for Tynesha Stewart, the authorities have called off the search.
Tim Miller, the director of Texas Equusearch, which had hoped to begin assisting in a search of an Atoscocita-area landfill next week, said he was deeply saddened they would not be able to return Stewart’s body to her family.
“We did everything we could,” he said. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”

Tynesha Stewart, a 19 year old freshman student at Texas A&M has been missing since last Thursday, March 15, 2007. Tynesha Stewart was last seen between 3:00 and 4:00 pm at her former boy friend,Timothy Shepherd’s, apartment located off of F.M. 1960 on Red Oak Drive. However, it appears that Timothy Shepherd has unofficially confessed to the murder.

Timothy Shepherd, Stewart’s ex-boyfriends, previously denied having anything to do with her disappearance but led authorities to a garbage bin at the Polo Club Apartments off Kuykendahl Road in northwest Harris County Wednesday afternoon. Investigators did not find a body in the garbage bin, which they speculate was last emptied on Friday. (My Fox Houston)
Texas Equusearch has been involved in the search for Tynesha Stewart.
On Wednesday, Texas EquuSearch volunteers along with friends and family focused their search for Stewart on area creeks. “I was not aware until this morning that they actually did have crime scene in his apartment and had taken some things from the apartment,” EquuSearch volunteer Cindy Wisdom told FOX 26 News.
As per our conversation with Tim Miller, Founder of Texas Equusearch, they plan to search the landfill if all goes according to plan. The trash bins that the ex-boyfriend lead police to had previously been picked up and removed. This creates the arduous task of doing a land fill search.

The ex-boyfriend of Tynesha Stewart lead investigators and community activist Quanell X to dumpsters where he claimed to have put her. However, the dumpsters had been picked up since the event occurred.
The ex-boyfriend of a missing Texas A&M student led investigators and community activist Quanell X to the 14600 block of Ella in northwest Harris County, where he pointed out a Dumpster that investigators now believe might have been used to dispose of her body.
The ex-boyfriend has not made any confession, but investigators took custody of the Dumpster and plan to search area landfills for the woman’s body.
Texas A&M University student Tynesha Stewart, 19, was last seen March 15. She was spending spring break at her mother’s apartment in the 17700 block of Red Oak when she left with her ex-boyfriend, authorities said.

Tynesha Stewart has two uncles who play in the NFL, one for the Dallas Cowboys and the other for the Minnesota Vikings. One of whom arrives in Houston to help search for Tynesha.
UPDATE I: Ex-boyfriend charged in death of missing Texas A&M student
A murder charge was filed against the ex-boyfriend of a missing Texas A&M student after he led investigators to a trash container where he allegedly put her body, authorities said.
Timothy Wayne Shepherd, 27, was charged with murder Wednesday in the death of Tynesha Stewart, said Lt. John Denholm of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office homicide division.
Stewart, a 19-year-old college freshman, was last seen with Shepherd on March 15 while she was home for spring break visiting her mother.
Authorities said it will be difficult to find Stewart’s body because the trash bin has been hauled off at least twice since last week and taken to different locations. (The Eagle)
UPDATE II: Tynesha Stewart Strangled during argument over another Man
“They had a fight about their relationship, and her relationship with a new boyfriend,” said Lt. John Denholm with the Harris County Sheriff’s homicide division. “He said he choked her…He said he put her in a large plastic tote, and then put her in his car and took her to the Dumpster.” (Houston Chronicle)
There has been preliminary discussions as to a landfill search; however, they are usually immense in scale and costly. There is never a guarantee that a body will be found, nor any expectation as to the time it could take to perform.
Stewart’s body, which could be buried under an estimated 50,000 tons of waste and dirt, probably never will be recovered, he said.
Excavating the two landfills where Stewart’s body might be -, one is in the Atoscocita area and the other is in Brazoria County — would run at least $350,000, Denholm said.
And, he said, it would take time and would probably require approval from county officials because taxpayers would likely have to pay for it.
“Any expenditure like that would most likely have to be approved by commissioner’s court,” Denholm said.
Such approval, he said, could delay the search and drive excavation costs up further, as 5,000 to 6,000 tons of waste are hauled to the two sites per day.
Private companies charge $6 to $7 per ton to excavate.
“Even as we speak, hundreds of tons of trash have been dumped, just during this conversation,” he said.
Further complicating the recovery of the body are landfill regulations.
Denholm said Stewart’s family has been told the body probably will not be recovered.
UPDATE III: Family of missing Texas A&M student wants search conducted
Murdered and dumped, and right now there are no plans to even look for the body of a missing Texas A&M student. Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend sits behind bars this evening, charged with her murder.
We know investigators have not yet searched the two landfills Tynesha Stewart’s body may be in. Tonight the question on Stewart’s mother’s mind is will they?
“We want her body so we can give her a proper burial,” said Gale Shields. “She’s not trash.” (ABC 13)
However, police are not sure whether they are going to do the search due to the shere volume and magnitude of the search.
We’ve learned that dumpster’s contents were likely taken to an Atascocita landfill or possibly to one in Angleton.
“I don’t know that we can positively say that any particular item as gone to either one of those landfills,” said Lt. John Martin of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Because of that and the sheer volume of trash needed to be searched, sheriff’s officials say they are considering not searching the landfills at all. In addition, the search could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“You can see how this is going to be expensive, and there is little confidence that it would even turn up anything,” said Lt. Martin.

As much as the defence attorneys of Steven Avery wanted to sling mud on the wall to see what stuck, as much as they wanted to state that their client Avery was framed … THE VERDICT IS IN … GUILTY!!!
Steven Avery was convicted of first degree murder of 23 year old Teresa Halbach. Avery faces a mandatory life in prison term for his heinous actions. May he rot in hell as well.
The jury convicted Avery of first-degree intentional homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was acquitted of mutilating a corpse. The panel deliberated over 3 days and heard a month of testimony.
Halbach disappeared Oct. 31, 2005, after going to the salvage yard in rural Manitowoc County to photograph a minivan that Avery’s sister had for sale through Auto Trader Magazine. Avery called that morning to request the photo, testimony showed. (Fox News)

The case of the disappearance of Ashley Robinson has turned from a missing persons 
investigation into murder investigation. Ashley Robinson was a 23 year old pregnant, Indiana woman who went missing on February 12, 2007. Police now believe that Ashley Robinson was murdered. They have arrested five people in the murder as they continue to search for Ashley’s body.
Police are still searching for Robinson’s body. According to the affidavit filed in Jefferson County (Ind.) Circuit Court yesterday by Indiana State Police Detective Tom Baxter, the five suspects admitted they cooperated in a plan to lure Robinson to a location where she was struck with two blasts from a shotgun.
The affidavit does not state a motive for the killing.
The suspects are Brandon Skinner, 24; Donielle Sherley, 23; Michael Cory Bowling, 24; Brian Kemp, 27, and Carissa Miller, 18. (The Courier Journal)

The affidavit spells out the account of the murder as follows:
The suspects gathered at Kemp’s home where they decided that “Ashley should pay … so justice would be served,” according to the affidavit.
Sherley and Miller left the meeting, picked up Robinson at home and drove her to the designated location, with the men arriving in a separate vehicle, the document said.
Bowling then handed the shotgun, which had come from Kemp, to Skinner and left with Sherley and Miller, it said. Skinner shot Robinson twice with Kemp handing him the second shell between shots, according to the affidavit.
On Wednesday police searched the home of Kemp’s mother in New Washington and found a 20-gauge shotgun. Lewis said the gun is being tested to determine whether it was used in the crime. He declined to provide further details on what the suspects told investigators.
Sonia Kent said, “I don’t know what was going on” that would have led to the murder. Kent, who said she has guardianship of Robinson’s 4-year-old daughter, said Robinson last visited her in Madison on Jan. 4.

The torso of missing 34 year old Tara Grant has been found in the garage of a 
Macomb County’s Washington Township home that the couple shared. Tara Grants has been missing since February 9, 2007 and was not reported as missing until 5 days later by her husband.
Investigators found what is believed to be the torso of a 34-year-old suburban wife and mother of two who disappeared last month and are seeking her husband as the suspect in her slaying, the Macomb County sheriff said Saturday. (WFRV)
Her husband, Stephen Grant, is now being sought in the murder of Tara Grant.
Hackel said Stephen Grant was wanted for questioning and was last believed to be driving a white pick-up truck. He said his office was working with county prosecutors to seek murder charges.
“He is the number one and at this time the only suspect in the murder of Tara Lynn Grant,” Hackel told reporters at a news conference in Mount Clemens. (Fox News)
According to reports, Stephen Grant’s attorney has been in contact with his client and trying to make efforts for Stephen to turn himself in. From the outset of this case it had all the similarities of Scott Peterson and his missing wife Lacy Peterson. The peculiar disappearance, the suspicious husband, and the other woman.
Stephen Grant’s lawyer, David Griem, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he spoke twice with his client earlier in the day. He said he hoped to arrange for Grant to turn himself in to authorities.
“He was suicidal,” Griem said. “I spent some significant period of time begging him to meet with me and reminding him of all the reasons why he had to live: the foremost being a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old who love him very much.”
Griem said his client last was in the Detroit area, but he didn’t know exactly where.
UPDATE I: Stephen Grant on the run
Stephen Grant is on the run, Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel said this morning, after investigators found his wife’s torso hidden in the garage of the family’s Washington Township home.
But his lawyer David Griem fears Grant has killed himself: “I think he’s gone.”
“I spoke with him twice early this morning,” Griem said. “And after the second conversation I had no doubt he was going to commit suicide within minutes.”
Griem said Grant turned down repeated pleas to meet. Grant called from a pay phone at a home, Griem said.
“He was increasingly emotionally distraught,’ Griem said. “He had a hard time getting sentences out coherently. He was rambling. I was telling him all the reasons he needed to live – most especially, two main reason: a little 4-year-old and a little 6-year-old.” (Detroit Free Press)

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police arrested a man Sunday wanted in connection with the dismembering death of his wife as searchers continued the hunt for her remains.
Michigan State Police arrested Stephen Grant early Sunday in Emmet County, Mich., after a statewide manhunt. The county is near the tip of the state’s Lower Peninsula, about 225 miles from his home in Washington Township in suburban Detroit.
Grant was upgraded from serious to stable condition at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Mich., after being airlifted following his capture to be treated for frostbite and hypothermia. He’s expected to make a full recovery with the exception of damage to his feet. (FOX News)

Officials announced the capture of Stephen Grant on Sunday, following a massive manhunt.
Grant was found in Emmet County at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday.
Local and federal law enforcement agencies found Stephen Grant barefoot inside the Wilderness State Park in northern Michigan. Officials airlifted him to Northern Michigan Hospital due to health concerns.

During a news conference, Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel stated, “He gave a very lengthy confession.” After weeks of claiming his innocence, Stephen Grant has confessed according to news reports. From the news conference we learn that it would seem that Stephen grant murdered Tara while the children were in the home.
Stephen Grant admitted murdering his wife, Tara Lynn Grant, after police found a Ziploc bag in the woods containing human blood, latex gloves, plastic bags and metal shavings. It was the final piece of evidence authorities needed for probable cause to search the Grants’ house, in which they found a human torso, Prosecutor Eric Smith said.
The metal shavings linked the bag’s contents to Stephen Grant, who worked at a tool-and-die shop, the prosecutor said.
“He’s presumed innocent at this time,” Smith said. An arraignment was expected on Tuesday.
Stephen Grant wanted to “clear his mind,” Hackel said. He “did indicate the method in which he caused her death,” after which he took the body to a creek to dispose of the remains. Hackel said he would not discuss the motive. (FOX News)
Grant murder shocks, saddens
“To find out what he did is just unthinkable,” said Melissa (Elliott) Hanson of Rock, a long-time friend of Tara Grant. Hanson knew Grant since they were in elementary school. Their families were involved in 4-H together. Following their graduation in 1990, the two friends kept in touch until a few years ago.
“When she was first missing, we were hopeful … she would be found OK,” Hanson said Sunday. “We never thought she would leave her family.” (The Mining Journal)
Tara Grant likely strangled
Tara Lynn Grant likely was strangled to death before her body was dismembered and its pieces scattered, Macomb County Medical Examiner Daniel Spitz said Sunday.
Spitz said a preliminary examination of the body parts, presumed to belong to Grant, that sheriff’s deputies brought him over the weekend showed no visible injuries — except for bruising around her neck that could mean she was strangled.

After some delays due to in-climate weather Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch have 
finally been able to start searching for missing Stacey Hazelton. Stacey went missing on May 2004 and has not been seen since. Her ex-boyfriend, James Arthur Fanning, has been tried and convicted of her murder. Despite many previous searches by law enforcement, Stacey’s body was never found.
Texas Equusearch arrived today in Bolver County, MS to begin searching for Stacy Hazelton’s body. A witness in the murder trial stated that Hazelton;d body was burned and buried in the woods near a creek in Duncan, MS. TES will be working in conjunction with the Boliver County Sheriff’s Department.
An update from the search informs us that TES brought in ground penetrating units and have found some ground anomalies. These points of interest have been probed and cadaver dogs were brought in and showed some interest. At this point there has been nothing definitely located. The Texas EquuSearch team will be working through the night as local authorities brought in lights and there is a threat of more bad weather in the area in the morning. Updates will be coming in as news comes forth.

The parents of Stacey Hazelton have expressed their thanks and for Texas EquuSearch coming to help them find their daughter.
For Bruce and Natalie Hazelton, Stacey’s parents, Texas Equusearch aiding in the search efforts makes the possibility of finding her remains all that more real. “This feels great, I can’t thank them enough,” said Natalie. “They are traveling all that way to come and search. We are hopeful and thinking positive. My mother has really worked hard to get this organization involved. “Our hope is that we will be able to bring Stacey’s remains home,” she added. “They told us to remain positive, so that’s what we’ll be.” (The Boliver Commercial)

UPDATE I: Thursday 12:05PM, Tim Miller discusses results of search
According to Tim Miller, they worked until around 3:30–4:00 this morning searching for Stacey Hazelton. Tim Miller stated, “it appeared that Stacey could have been here at one point. The cadaver dogs had hits, but we did not find her. However, it was important to clear this area for possible locations of Stacey.” Although this search effort was without a conclusion Tim Miller suggested to law enforcement that maybe she may be in the area. The authorities have no idea whether Stacey was buried in the ground or just covered up. Tim Miller suggested a controlled burn of the area to rid it of the over vegetation so that the area can be searched again. This time a greater circumference surface area search. He believes the controlled burn in planned for this weekend.
We also had the opportunity to talk to Kent Schneider with the ground penetration unit. Scared Monkeys initially met Kent during the Natalee Holloway search in Aruba in 2005. Also involved in the Search for Stacey Hazelton was Dave Holloway, the father of missing Natalee Holloway.
Tim Miller wanted to personally thank the Boliver County Sheriff’s Department, those that helped and loaned equipment for the search, Kent Schneider, Dave Holloway and the other search teams that participated in the search. Tim Miller said, “It’s amazing what you can accomplish in such a short period of time when all work together for a common purpose, it all just comes together.”

Prosecutors have added an additional “aggravated sodomy” charge against Justin Thurber in the death of 19 year old Jodi Sanderholm.
The charge is aggravated criminal sodomy. The new charge will be added to the previous charges of aggravated kidnapping, rape and capital murder, according to Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison and Cowley County Attorney Chris Smith.
Smith said this morning that some evidence had come back that demonstrated to them that the additional charge needed to be brought.
“It was something we thought, but we just wanted to make sure we had the evidence to sustain the charge,” he said. “It’s another charge to go with in what we believe happened to Miss Sanderholm.”
This additional charge will allow the prosecution to go after the death penalty against Thurber. A sentence that he justly deserves.
Smith said the new charge was an “aggravating charge” and in the capital murder statute, if a person commits a murder while engaged in a rape or aggravated criminal sodomy, it allows the state to make it a death-eligible case if prosecutors choose that route.
He said the state already had that option with the rape charge but this would give them another option. (Ark City.net)
