Family and friends gathered and held a vigil in the parking lot of a Canton Wal-Mart Sunday night to pray for Sue Ann Ray who has been missing for nearly five months.
A group of about 30 people gathered in the parking lot of a Canton Wal-Mart Sunday night to pray for a mother who has been missing for nearly five months. 26-year-old Sue Ann Ray disappeared in late August.
The group released balloons in to the air carrying information about Sue Ann Ray.
“Who knows where the balloons will pop?” Ray’s sister, Sandy Chasm, told WSB-TV. “It may land in the right people’s hands who saw someone parking this van here, who saw someone taking her wherever they took her.”
Ray’s 6-year-old daughter, Charity, lives with her godmother, Leslie Colley, who says the girl asks where her mother is.
“I don’t know the answer,”Colley said. “I just tell her that we’re trying to find her. I can’t tell her that she’s not coming back. I can’t tell her that she is coming back.”
Sue Ann Ray’s family has hired an private investigator and the reward for information to the where abouts of Sue Ann is up to $105,000. Sue Ann Ray’s estranged husband, Quinton Ray, is the last person to see her alive. The police are still not calling him a suspect. It has obviously taken its toll on the family as Sue Ann’s father made the following comment:
For Ray’s father, Danny Jenkins, not knowing has been difficult.
“If hell is any worse than this, I don’t know,” Jenkins said. “It’s tough not knowing where your little girl is, whether she’s laying out in the woods rotting, whether she went through a wood-chipper like I was told.”
Who was he told by?

Melissa Morales, 27, has been missing from her Dogwood Drive home since early morning on Dec. 11. She left her home unannounced and drove off in a 2002 black Honda CR-V that belonged to her mother.
We’re concerned because she’s not mentally stable,” Rosenberg Police Lt. Margaret Hedden, head of the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, said Monday.
The car Morales left in had only enough gas to go about 100 miles, Hedden said. The woman didn’t take a purse or money with her.
Melissa Morales is described as follows:
- Hispanic woman
- brown hair
- brown eyes
- about 5 foot, 7 inches tall
- weighing 200-225 pounds
- Last seen in a 2002 black Honda CR-V
Heddon said Morales family members distributed fliers about the missing woman as they traveled to Austin recently. A gas station operator along the way thought he recognized the woman from a picture on the flier. Otherwise, however, there have been few leads in the case.
Having recently heard of the disappearance, Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch said that he was more than willing to help out in the search for Melissa Morales.

This is really no surprise, but more of a formality in this day and age. What, could a criminal actually plead guilty? Never. Maurice Wallace pleads “Not Guilty” in death of student ISU Olamide Adeyooye.
A man pleaded not guilty Friday to charges that he killed an Illinois State University student missing for more than a week before her badly burned body was found in the rubble of a Mississippi chicken house.
Maurice Wallace is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of concealing a homicide and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.
Prosecutors allege Wallace left a bloody fingerprint in Adeyooye’s apartment and that personal belongings of his were found along with Adeyooye’s keys in a rental car Wallace had when he was arrested Oct. 20 in Atlanta on unrelated charges. Adeyooye’s car was later found abandoned in Atlanta.
Just hours before her death, Wallace told someone over the telephone that he was depressed and felt like killing someone to become a martyr and get his name in the news, according to prosecutors.
Circuit Judge Scott Drazewski told Wallace he faces up to 60 years in prison on each murder count, but the penalty could be extended to natural life if a jury determines the crime was brutal and heinous.
Prosecutors say additional charges could be filed that would make Wallace eligible for the death penalty.

Steven Carrington, the stepfather of Teketria Buggs whose body was found earlier this week in the Brazos River, has confessed to the killing of Cory Brooks. Corey Brooks has been missing since 1998.
There’s new information about a seven year old missing persons case in Fort Bend County. Investigators say Steven Carrington has confessed to killing Corey Brooks, missing since 1998. Carrington is the stepfather of Teketria Buggs, whose body was found earlier this week.
Not only is Carrington under investigation for Brooks’ death, investigators are also questioning him about Buggs’ death, too.
Corey Brooks
Corey’s mother Caroline Brooks said, that Corey and Steven Carrington were cousins living together in Fort Bend County town of Orchard when Corey disappeared. Steven Carrington at first in helping look for Corey Brooks and then it all changed.
At first she never suspected Carrington, saying he helped in the desperate search for her son.
She said, “He rode with us in the car to put up flyers for my son. And then I got an anonymous call saying the flyers we were putting up, he was pulling down.”
Caroline says she passed that information on to investigators, but no charges were ever brought against Carrington back in 1998.
Corey Brooks was last seen in the Fort Bend County town of Orchard and as coincidence would have it this was also the last place that 12-year-old Teketria Buggs was as well. Teketria Buggs was found by searchers in the Brazos River last. Coincidence?
Corey Brooks was last seen in the Fort Bend County town of Orchard — as was 12-year-old Teketria Buggs, Carrington’s stepdaughter, who was last seen a few weeks ago. On Thursday searchers found her body in the Brazos River. Now detectives say Carrington, a suspect in the young girl’s death, has confessed to killing Brooks.

All of these revelations transpire as students and classmates of Teketria Buggs mourn her loss.

A Massachusetts medical examiner has ruled the death of a Woodstock jogger a homicide.
Judith Nilan’s autopsy was performed in Massachusetts because her body was found in a storage building that straddles the state line.
The medical examiner found she died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
Thirty-six-year-old Scott Deojay of Plainfield, CT is charged with murder.
Scott Deojay, the caretaker of Caroll Spinney who is the actor who plays Big Bird on Sesame Street, has already been charged with kidnapping and Connecticut prosecutors expect to bring homicide charges as well. The autopsy and police reports of the incident of Judith Nilan stated the following:
An autopsy showed the 44-year-old Nilan died of “blunt force trauma to the head and neck, causing multiple fractures, subarachoid hemorrhage and brain contusion by manner of homicide,” according to a report obtained by The Day of New London from District Attorney John Conte in Worcester, Mass.
An affidavit filed by police noted that Nilan was found bound, with her running pants partially pulled down, and that she “appears to have been beaten about the head.”

According to findings by the crime lab in Madison, WI the remains found last week have been positively identified as those of the missing pregnant woman Christine Rudy.
Human remains found in rural Clark County are identified as those of Christine Rudy of Thorp. The 21-year-old pregnant woman had been missing over a month. The remains were positively identified Friday by analysts at the state crime lab in Madison, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s department.
The search for Rudy started when she was reported missing November 14th, two days after her husband Shaun Rudy claims to have left her along the side of a road in a forest area in bitter cold temperatures. Rudy said he dropped off his wife at her request during an argument, about 12 miles from their home.
Previously the sheriff’s department has said 23 year old Shaun Rudy was not considered a suspect. It is hard to imagine whether a suspect or not in the actual death of Christine Rudy, which cause of death is still to be determined, how anyone in good conscience could leave their six month pregnant wife on the road side.
Authorities did not release any further details.
No other details were released, except that the investigation into her disappearance had changed from a missing person case to a criminal investigation.
