Peter Braunstein, Man who posed as a city firefighter in NYC Sex Attack Captured

Peter Braunstein, 42, wanted for questioning in Halloween night sexual attack on a woman in her Manhattan apartment posing as a city firefighter was captured Friday at the Peter_braunsteinUniversity of Memphis in Tennessee.

Police said fashion writer Peter Braunstein, 42, was spotted on the University of Memphis campus by a woman who recognized him from news reports about his fugitive status. She called campus police, who caught up with Braunstein, according to New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne.

“He said, ‘I’m the person you’re looking for,’ and he stabbed himself three times in the neck,” Browne said.

Braunstein was hospitalized in critical condition. Seeing the acts that this man is allegedly responsible for, maybe he was just doing everyone a favor.

New York police had been hunting since early November for the freelance journalist, once a writer for Women’s Wear Daily. Police want to question Braunstein about the attack on a woman by a man who bluffed his way into her apartment after setting two small fires and pounding on her door while dressed in full fire gear.

He bound the woman and molested her for more than 13 hours, police said.

He has not been charged in the attack.

Investigators said they believe Braunstein was obsessed with the victim.

Prosecutors will Seek Death Penalty against David Ludwig. Kara Beth Borden, no charges.

There had been much speculation following the murder of Kara Beth Bordon’s parentsDavid Ludwig 2, Michael and Cathryn Borden, and the attempted escape by David Ludwig and Kara Beth Borden. What was the two teens involvement and knowldge in the crime.

Was it possible that 14 year old Kara Beth Borden could have been involved as some prematurely stated and speculated. The Prosecutors made their decisions in the double murder and aftermath that transpired as Ludwig and Kara Beth Borden, then fled to Indiana.

Prosecutors today have said that they will seek the death penalty against David Ludwig in the double murder of his girl friend, Kara Beth Borden’s, parents. Prosecutors have also said that they will not seek any charges against Kara Beth Borden in the murders. A fire arms charge and a sexual assault charge was also added. David Ludwig

A prosecutor said Friday he will seek the death penalty against a man accused of shooting to death his 14-year-old girlfriend’s parents, and announced he does not plan to charge the girl.

Lancaster District Attorney Don Totaro also added a firearms violation and sexual assault charge against 18-year-old David Ludwig on Friday.

Ludwig’s statements appear to have cleared Kara Beth Borden of any involvement or knowledge of the crime against her parents.

Totaro said Ludwig’s statements have exonerated Kara Beth Borden, saying she did not have any role in planning or carrying out the shooting deaths of her parents Michael and Cathryn inside their Lititz home on Nov. 14. “There was no plan or no agreement to harm her parents in any way,” Totaro said.

Man accused of killing girl’s parents to face death penalty David ludwig 3

Totaro said the death penalty is justified because the killing occurred while perpetrating a felony, the firearms charge; that it created a great risk of harm to the couple’s children, who were at home at the time; and that more than one person was killed.

Prosecutors said Ludwig killed the Bordens after an argument over his relationship with their daughter. He was captured the next day following a high-speed chase that ended with him crashing his parents’ car.

Lancaster County District Attorney Don Totaro does not plan to file any charges as Kara Beth Borden was unaware of any plots to murder her parents.

Police Searching for 27 year old Jason Iannazzi and 14 year old Cheynne DeCicco

Police are searching for 27-year-old Jason Iannazzi of Watertown, MA 14-year-old IannazziCheynne DeCicco of Brea, CA. Her parents reported her missing earlier this month. Where did they meet? The Internet of course.

They met in an Internet chat room in September where Iannazzi originally posed a person much closer in age to DeCicco. Cheynne DeCiccohas been missing from CA since December 5.

“We are very concerned. We have a 27-year-old male from Watertown that met this girl from California, 14 years old, sometime in September. They had a meeting out in California in October. Now we have learned that she has been missing since Dec. 5,” Watertown Police Chief Edward Deveau said.

Iannazzi, who is unemployed, lives with his parents on Everett Avenue in Watertown. Police think the couple has traveled across the country together back to Massachusetts. “We have reason to believe that they are in the greater Boston area and probably staying in a low-priced hotel,” Deveau said.

The parents seemed to have been unaware as to what was going on, however, DeCicco’s friends knew she was meeting someone. Police believe the couple is in the greater Boston area. Video Available.

“I don’t believe her parents were aware. Her friends out in California were aware that she was meeting somebody. From when they first met, we don’t think she knew how old he was,” Deveau said.

A warrant has been issued for Iannazzi’s arrest for unspecified crimes in California. Anyone who has seen the couple is asked to call Watertown police.

Still No Sign of Jill Begora Missing from Royal Caribbeans Jewel of the Seas

There is still no sign of Jill Begora, missing from Royal Caribbeans ‘Jewel of the Seas’ cruise ship. Jill Begora had not been found by Monday evening, according to Dana Warr, a spokesman for the Coast Guard.

The U.S. Coast Guard was not asked by Bahamian authorities on Monday to help continue with the search for a Canadian woman who may have fallen off of a cruise ship near Nassau, officials said.

Canadian authorities are leading the investigation, said Lynn Martenstein, a spokeswoman for Royal Caribbean Cruises

The last know time line of events are as follows:

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship that Begora and her husband were traveling on, the Jewel of the Seas, which had sailed from Fort Lauderdale, docked in Nassau about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, said Michael Sheehan, a spokesman for Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Begora’s husband said the last time he saw her was around 9 a.m. Saturday. Begora did not use her identification card to get off the ship in Nassau, Sheehan said.

Royal Caribbean cruise line ship Jewel of the Seas pulled into Port Everglades on Sunday morning.

Cruise passengers were questioned by Coast Guard officials. They later reported their findings to the FBI, and the ship continued on to Key West, where it was scheduled to dock today.

Royal Caribbean International issued the following statement:

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family regarding this very tragic situation,” Michael Sheehan, a spokesman for the cruise company, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “We care deeply about each and every guest on board our ships and are always concerned about their well-being. Their safety is our top priority, and we are doing what we can to assist this family during this difficult time.”

Wreckage from George F. Baker III ‘s plane washes ashore Nantucket

A three-by-five-foot piece of the top of Baker’s plane, which was discovered in theBaker planecrash-wreckage surf off Maddequecham, and some smaller debris including pieces of the aircraft’s seats was recovered. They are believed to be that of George F. Baker III ‘s missing plane that dropped from radar as it approached for landing.

Further searchers using side scanner sonar may have located more debris and sunken pieces of the plane.

Over the weekend, the Tioga, a research vessel from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration equipped with side-scanning sonar, searched the area offshore from where the debris was found and may have located some more sunken pieces of the plane. It is unclear, however, if what was spotted on the sonar is the wreckage of Baker’s plane and what if anything could be done to retrieve it, Nantucket Police Chief Bill Pittman said.

The search was called off at 1:00pm as weather conditions worsened. However, the police department continued to search and officers made the discovery while on patrol on Maddequecham Beach around 4 p.m. Baker PlaneCrashSearch-Tioga-01_000

The perseverance of the police department paid off when officers on patrol on Maddequecham Beach around 4 p.m. on Friday located a large piece of the top of the plane in the surf and were able to pull it out of the water and bring it back to the police station to be turned over to the National Transportation Safety Board, which is leading the investigation, Pittman said. Pittman also said various other pieces of small debris were found in the same area, including parts of the seats.
