Tim Miller & Texas EquuSearch Attend the 21st Annual meeting of Parents of Murdered Children (Family of Kenny Ebarb)

Kenny Ebarb has been missing since July 17, 2005 in the vicinity of the 21000 block of Countryside Rd. near FM 1960 East. The next day, July 16, 2005, Ebarb’s truck was found, abandoned and burned, about 23 miles away, in Huffman, TX. For two years, Ebarb’s family has dealt with Kenny’s disappearance with a range of emotions from hope to despair, frustration to anger, grief to loneliness not knowing what happened or having recovered his body. The case was deemed a homicide without a body.

More than 400 people including the Ebarb family and Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch attended The 21st annual meeting of Parents of Murdered Children. So many times we forget about the pain and anguish that family members go through after their loved one’s body is found. It can be even worse psychologically for those left behind when a body is never found. They are just left to wonder and anguish over what happened. Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch said during the conference:

The couple were joined in the hotel lobby by Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch. Miller said cases of missing young men are “often overlooked or ignored” by the media, which “tends to focus on cases of missing women, or children.”

Miller was the luncheon speaker at the convention. Still, he took time to sit with the Ebarbs, gently advising them to attend one of the many workshops held for parents, relatives and siblings of murder victims.

“Everybody in this room thinks they’ve gone through the worst possible thing – losing a child,” Miller said. “I can tell them they have not. The worst possible thing is what you two are going through – not knowing. Not having that closure that allows you to fully grieve.” (Houston Chronicle)

The families of murdered and missing loved ones are a breed apart and have special issues and problems that none of us could even begin to relate to. Please remember that even after their family members are found. That although their missing loved one has been returned home, their grieving process goes on for years.

8 People Reported Missing from the I-35W Minnesota Bridge Collapse

As investigators are still looking for answers as to the cause of the catastrophic I-35W bridge collapse, searchers continue look for the missing. Due to the severity and massive catastrophic condition of the bridge collapse, many may be trapped beneath the tons of concrete. Divers spent a third day looking for the missing to no avail. Today, the police made public a list of the eight people who continue to be missing following the bridge collapse. However, police stated that there may be others who have not yet been reported as missing.

Investigators have names that haven’t been connected to the bridge, and divers and recovery workers have found license plate numbers that don’t belong to an identified missing person or survivor, authorities said.

The Associated Press earlier identified five of the missing, who all appeared on the police list: Christine Sacorafas, 45, a recent transplant to Minnesota who was on her way to teach a Greek folk dancing class; Greg Jolstad, 45, a construction worker who was operating a skid loader on the bridge; Peter Hausmann, 47, a former missionary heading to pick up a friend; and Somali immigrant Sadiya Sahal, 23, a pregnant nursing student traveling with her 2-year-old daughter, Hanah.

The police list also included Richard Chit, Vera Peck and Scott Sathers. No information was included about them. (ABC News)

It is obviously a terribly trying time for family and friends of victims wait for the searches to bring their loved ones home.

Police ID 8 still missing after Minnesota bridge collapse

As investigators probed what caused an interstate bridge packed with rush-hour traffic to collapse into the Mississippi River this week, Minneapolis police Saturday night issued a statement naming the eight people — including a 2-year-old girl — still missing in the murky waters.

UPDATE I: 9th body found at Minnesota bridge site

MINNEAPOLIS – Divers found another body in the Mississippi River on Sunday, 11 days after a highway bridge collapsed into the fast-flowing water, raising the official death toll to nine.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body as 20-year-old Richard Chit of St. Anthony. His mother, 50-year-old Vera Peck of Bloomington, is still missing.

The other three people known to be missing are Christine Sacorafas, 45, of White Bear Lake; Greg Jolstad, 45, of Mora; and Scott Sathers, 29, of Maple Grove.

Possible Sighting of Missing British Girl Madeleine McCann

Authorities are investigating a possible sighting of a girl resembling four-year-old missing Madeleine McCann. The sighting of Madeleine McCann took place in a restaurant in the Dutch-speaking town of Tongeren, near the Dutch border east of Brussels. She was reportedly with a man and a woman who were acting suspiciously. Authorities will be doing DNA testing on a bottle taken from the restaurant.

DNA test results are expected next week on a bottle taken from a restaurant where a girl resembling four-year-old Madeleine was seen drinking, local prosecutor Katja Van Doren said.

A child psychologist reported seeing the girl with a man and woman in the restaurant in the Dutch-speaking town of Tongeren, near the Dutch border east of Brussels.

The three people drove away in a black Volvo with Belgian plates, local police said, stressing that the number plate could be false.

The couple were said to have been acting in a suspicious manner.

Belgian police have issued an identikit picture of the man involved, said to be in his 40s with black hair and stubble on his prominent chin.

He was said to speak with a Dutch accent, while the woman, who also had dark hair, spoke to him in English.

Madeleine McCann sighting treated seriously

  • Police release computer image of suspect
  • Couple fled cafe before challenged
  • Girl turned around at “Madeleine” call

An artist’s impression, released by Belgian police Aug. 3, 2007, shows a man who had been seen with a small girl sitting at the terrace of the roadside cafe “De Pauze” in the eastern town of Tongeren near the Dutch border.

Madeleine sighting puts Belgium on alert

Officers have taken a fruit milkshake bottle the child had been seen drinking from away for analysis but there are as yet no results, a police spokeswoman said yesterday.

Jolien Houbrech: Served suspects

Jolien Houbrechts, a waitress in “De Pauze” bar, described how she was approached by the witness on Saturday afternoon.

“The woman said to me that the couple looked strange and the girl looked like Maddie. I told her to call the police,” she said.

Texas EquuSearch Volunteers Help Search for Missing 5 Year Old Alondra Diaz-Garcia

5 year old Alondra Diaz-Garcia has been missing since June 1, 2007 when she was reportedly kidnapped by her non-custodial father, Reynaldo Diaz. She has not been seen since.

  • Alondra weighs about 38 pounds
  • brown eyes
  • brown hair
  • nearly 4-feet tall
  • was last wearing denim pants and a orange and yellow shirt

Texas EquuSearch volunteers are searching for the girl near Kendleton.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a warrant was issued for Diaz, 38, on July 2.

Mother frantic to find missing daughter last seen with her father

The girl’s mother says she and Diaz were divorced and he was scheduled to visit the girl June 1. The mother dropped her off with her father at a McDonald’s on Gessner and Bissonnet and hasn’t been seen since.

“I believe he is in Kendleton. He has a ranch there with his brothers and I am certain he has taken my daughter there,” said the girl’s mother Dorotea Garcia. (ABC 13)

UPDATE I: Local search for girl called off

A search for a missing Houston girl has been called off in an area in Kendleton and searchers will start looking elsewhere, an official with Texas EquuSearch said this morning.

No trace of Diaz-Garcia has been found, said Frank Black, search coordinator for Texas EquuSearch. He said searchers did not want to say exactly where they would look next as they did not want to potentially tip their hand to Diaz.

UPDATE II: Mother belived that ex-husband Reynaldo Diaz kidnapped Alondra Diaz-Garcia

She believes her ex-husband may have taken the girl to California or Mexico.

“He is a hot-tempered man. His reactions are very strong. He just did this probably on revenge,” Doroeta Garcia said.

She said he may have quit his job and taken $30,000 out of the bank before disappearing.

“Sometimes it’s a very dangerous situation, and sometimes it’s a situation where the parent may not be abiding by orders and hiding the child, and maybe not being physically harmed but some sort of emotional harm,” Harris Co. Assistant D.A. Jane Waters said.

In the case of Diaz-Garcia, a custody agreement had been in place since the divorce in 2005.

Terapon Adhahn Charged with Aggravated Murder of Zina Linnik (Did he kill Amber Hagerman also?)

42 year old Terapon Adhahn, accused child rapists and sex offender, will be charged with aggravated murder for the kidnapping and killing of 12-year-old Zina Linnik

Facing a possible death sentence if convicted, Adhahn will be arraigned Monday on the murder charge. Zina was abducted from her family’s Tacoma neighborhood July 4 and later found dead in east Pierce County.

Adhahn currently faces 12 felony counts related to the rape of two other girls. He pleaded not guilty Thursday to 10 rape counts, a kidnapping charge and a charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

As Terapon Adhahn pleaded not guilty to the charges before him; investigators are looking to Terapon’s past to see just how many other children he may have sexually assaulted, raped and murdered.

Adhahn, a 42-year-old handyman and former Army Ranger, pleaded not guilty to 12 felony counts accusing him of repeatedly raping two girls, and failing to register as a sex offender after a 1990 incest conviction.

So much for the Judges in this country who believe that these predators will not repeat their crimes.

Mr. Adhahn is suspected in the murder of one young girl in the Tacoma area and is a “person of interest” in the death of another girl, according KING-TV in Seattle. He has also been charged with the 2000 kidnapping and rape of an 11-year-old girl who was found duct taped to a tree in the Seattle area and with the rape of another girl. (Dallas News)

The search for potential other victims continues. Did Terapon Adahn kill Amber Hagerman also?

Nine-year-old Amber Hagerman disappeared while riding her bicycle near her grandparents’ house in 1996. Her body was found four days after she vanished.

The search for victims has spread as far as Texas, where investigators are trying to determine whether Adhahn is responsible for the 1996 slaying that inspired the national “Amber Alert” missing-child notification system.

In the Pierce County case, investigators believe Adhahn sexually assaulted one girl at least 150 times — once at gunpoint — during the four years she lived with him at a Spanaway home. He also faces charges in the 2000 abduction and rape of an 11-year-old Tacoma girl who was left bound and bleeding in a remote, wooded section of Fort Lewis.

After Thursday’s court hearing, Loni Rasmussen, younger sister of the Fort Lewis victim, said finally seeing the man accused of brutalizing her sister seven years ago inspired fear and anger, and also relief.

“I hate what he did to my sister,” Rasmussen said. (Seattle PI)

So how is this child predator linked to the death of Amber Hagerman?

Amber disappeared Jan. 13, 1996. Her body was found four days later.

Adhahn’s mother and brother live in nearby Forth Worth, but it is not known whether Adhahn was in the area when Amber vanished. Court documents indicate Adhahn attended a sex-offenders group meeting in Tacoma on Jan. 9, 1996, four days before Amber disappeared. He also attended a group meeting in Tacoma on Jan. 16, a day before her body was found.

UPDATE I: Adhahn may be linked to 1995 abduction

Is it possible that Adhahn could be linked to crimes that took place as far back as 1995? Could Terapon Adhahn be connected in a 1995 abduction and assault of a 21 year old convenience store clerk? According to records, Terapon Adhahn was living seven blocks away from the convenience store where the clerk was abducted in November 1995. Abhahn also attended a group therapy session for sex offenders in Tacoma hours before the abduction took place. Coincidence or connected?

Tacoma police are investigating whether Terapon Adhahn was involved in the 1995 abduction, assault and shooting of a 21-year-old convenience store clerk.

The woman, who was left for dead near Fort Lewis Golf Course, now says she believes her attacker may have been the man charged this week with abducting and killing a 12-year-old girl who was snatched from an alley behind her family’s Tacoma home on July 4th. (KOMO-TV)

Barry Whitton Arrested in the disappearance of Kim Whitton and her daughter, Haleigh Culwell

Kim Whitton and her 11 year old daughter, Haleigh Culwell, have been sinning since June 21, 2007. However, they were not reported missing until June 28, 2007. They were not reported missing by Kim’s husband, Barry Whitton, but rather by one of her co-workers. Today, Barry Whitton was arrested on a separate matter weapons possession charge. So once again a “suspect” who the police refuse to call a suspect is a

Barry Whitton seems to have been arrested on the separate, unrelated charge so to get the real story out of his as to what happened to Kim Whitton and Haleigh Culwell.

Barry Whitton, 38, was charged with a weapons possession count that FBI spokesman Charles Regan of Birmingham is unrelated to the disappearance of his wife and stepdaughter. He previously had been convicted of receiving stolen property in 1988 and 1991, U.S. attorney’s office spokeswoman Jill Ellis said. (FOX)

So not only does Barry Whitton has a murdered previous wife who’s case was never solved or prosecuted, but he fails to ever report his present wife or step daughter missing. Do we really need to look any further?

(Kim Whitton)

Barry Whitton seems to have a history of wives going missing. Barry Whitton’s first wife was a victim of an unsolved homicide. His first wife was eventually found murdered and buried. Whitton told investigators she had left him. I think we are starting to sense a pattern. Making matters even worse, the father of missing Kim Whitton was unaware of Barry Whitton’s past. Whitton had actually lied to his father in law as to how his previous wife died. Its pretty damming when one cannot tell the truth how one’s previous wife died, if they have nothing to hide.

(Haleigh Culwell)

Whitton’s father, Jerry Compton, said Friday that her husband, Barry Whitton, “seems like a pretty nice fellow.” He said he was surprised to learn about the circumstances of the death of Michelle Whitton, Barry Whitton’s previous wife.

“He told me his first wife died from an overdose,” Compton said. “But I found out last night that she was murdered.”

Several weeks after her unexplained disappearance, Michelle Whitton’s body was found partially buried in 1997 on a hillside in the Powell community about 15 miles from their Dutton home. No one was arrested in her death. Authorities said her death was a homicide but never disclosed how she died. (Huntsville Times)

Body of 12 year old Zina Linnik Found Deceased (Update: Terapon Adhahn Will be Charged with Murder)

There is sad news to report in the case of missing 12 year old Zina Linnik. Police are stating that they have found the body of the missing 12 year old.

Tacoma Police announced they found the body of 12-year-old Zina Linnik in Pierce County. The information came from a sex offender arrested earlier this week.

When it was previously discovered that a sex offender from Thailand had been taken in to custody as a person of interest, the missing persons case of Zina Linnik became rather grim. When the search warrant turned up a girl’s underwear at his home, things did not look good for missing Zina Linnik. One hates to speculate; however, we were dealing with a convicted sex offender. Why wouldn’t anyone think he was the suspect?

A search warrant reports investigators on Monday found a girl’s undergarments at his home, where he lives alone. He responded to that news by saying he was remodeling the home for his sister.

The sad the reality is that once again a convicted sex offender was allowed to walk among the most innocent of us and allowed to repeat his offenses against unsuspecting 12 year old girls. It wasn’t enough that this sex offender pleaded guilty in the past to incest after being charged with rape. Nope, he was allowed to escalate his crimes to murder and the other awful things we will learn in the future of the heinous acts committed against this beautiful and innocent 12 year old. Zina Linnik, God Bless and rest in peace.

UPDATE I: Police ‘Expect’ Convicted Sex Offender Will Be Charged in Murder of Washington Girl

Police said Friday that they “expect” a 42-year-old convicted sex offender from Thailand will be charged in the murder of 12-year-old Zina Linnik, who police believe was kidnapped July 4 while watching a fireworks display.

Terapon Adhahn, who was convicted of incest in 1990, provided information that led to the discovery of the girl’s body while being held for questioning, Tacoma Police Chief Don Ramsdell said. Adhahn, who lists a Parkland, Wash., address, was being held by federal immigration officials on a charge unrelated to Linnik’s apparent abduction. (FOX)

Some are raising the issue that Zina Linnk’s death is a result of our porous open borders and the consequences of not deporting criminals. As Michelle Malkin states, the death of 12 year old Zina Linnik is the “Bloody consequences of open borders”. However, we will go one step further and state that this is not just a product of the failure of open borders and the unwillingness to deport criminals. This is a result of America’s unwillingness to protect children. Sex registration lists are not updated. Law enforcement has no mechanism to track these predators. The end result is we suddenly find these sex predators after they have assaulted or murdered a child.

42 Year Old Thailand Sex Offender Person of Interest in Missing Zina Linnik Case

12 year old Zina Linnik has been missing since the evening of July 4, 2007 when she Zina Linnikwas abducted from her Tacoma, WA home by an Asian looking man in an older gray van. A 42 year old sex offender is being held as a person of interest in the disappearance of Zinna Linnik.

The person of interest is a 42-year-old sex offender from Thailand. He’s currently being held for failing to register for an immigration violation and denies any involvement in Zina’s disappearance.

A search warrant reports investigators on Monday found a girl’s undergarments at his home, where he lives alone. He responded to that news by saying he was remodeling the home for his sister.

Investigators also seized a gray van to search for evidence, and the man admitted he had recently changed the license plate. (FOX News)

According to reports, a tip has lead investigators to the Tiger Mountain area where they are presently searching. It appears that the tip to search this area did not come from the man in custody.
