Mario Garcia, who is accused of murdering Christie Wilson was back in court attempting to get his bail reduced. Garcia had been held without bail; however, on Monday, the judge imposed a $3 million bail. Garcia’s attorney, Ron Peters, as any defense attorney would do claims his client is innocent.
Christie Wilson, who has been missing for over a month, was last seen leaving the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln with Mario Garcia, 53. He has been charged with murder in the case and pleaded not guilty
Outside of court Monday, Garcia’s attorney, Ron Peters, said that evidence “points a finger at another person” — Wilson’s boyfriend, Daniel Burlando.
“God forbid that they conducted an investigation to the exclusion of any other potential suspect. And that may be where this is heading,” Peters said.
Maybe Attorney Ron Peters would like to explain why his client, Mario Garcia, was treated for scratches, claw marks and a black eye at a medical facility after Christie Wilson’s disappearance? It is suspected that Christie Wilson put up a fight from the medical records that have been obtained by authorities.
The records show the 53-year old from Auburn went to a UC Davis Medical building on Bell Road, shortly after Christie disappeared.
He was apparently treated for scratches and claw marks on his arms, as well as a black eye.
Lt. George Malim of the Sheriff’s office told FOX40 this points to a struggle and he believes Christie may have put up a big fight before being murdered.

According to The Green Bay Press Gazette, the SUV vehicle of the missing Teresa Marie Halbach was found on Saturday in a gravel pit near the auto salvage yard operated by Steven Avery.
Searchers Saturday found the vehicle of a missing 25-year-old St. John woman in a rural gravel pit near an auto salvage yard operated by a man convicted of a 1985 sexual assault and exonerated by DNA evidence 18 years later, according to Manitowoc County Sheriff Ken Petersen. The auto salvage yard is owned by Steven Avery’s family.
Steven Avery, whose family owns the salvage yard, told the Herald Times Reporter late Saturday that he has “no idea” what happened to free-lance photographer Teresa Marie Halbach.
“I don’t know what happened to her,” he said in a telephone interview from his father’s vacation property near Crivitz. “That’s the honest to God truth. I just wish they’d find her, so we’d know what really happened.”
Avery commented as officers scoured his property between Mishicot and Maribel, where Halbach’s dark green 1999 Toyota Rav4 was found. Petersen said the presence of investigators on Avery’s property could be a “coincidence.”
Steven Avery denied knowing how Teresa Marie Halbach’s vehicle got into the “pit”.
Avery said he last saw the missing woman driving away from his rural property on Monday afternoon, after she had taken photos of one of his vehicles for Auto Trader magazine.
Avery denied knowing how Halbach’s vehicle got into what he called “the pit,” a storage area for junk vehicles used in his family’s salvage business. Avery said he hasn’t been in the pit “in quite a while.”Halbach has been to his home about 15 times in the last year to take photos of his vehicles for Auto Trader, Avery said.
“It was always just ‘hi, how ya’ doing,’ that kind of thing,” Avery said. “It was just business.”

Numerous searches on land and in the air are underway in the disappearance of Teresa Marie Halbach. She was last seen Monday afternoon in Manitowoc.
An aerial search was underway for the land from Manitowoc to Green Bay hoping to locate her car, which they say is a major key to their investigation.
Dozens of relative and friends spread throughout Northeast Wisconsin to distribute Missing Person posters with Teresa’s picture and description. They hope someone in a six-county area has seen her.
According to WBAY2, Teresa Marie Halbach last stop was at the home of Steven Avery.
Coincidentally, Halbach’s last stop Monday was at Steven Avery’s home. He’s the man who spent 18 years in prison for crimes he didn’t commit — attempted murder and sexual assault — until DNA testing cleared him.
The sheriff says the Mishicot area remains a focal point of the investigation. “This is the last place she is seen alive and seen by somebody, and of course we’re going to be concerned, interested in that area.”
According to The Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter, Teresa Marie Halbach’s appointment was to photograph a van being sold by Steven Avery.
Green Bay television stations reported Friday night that the appointment was to photograph a van being sold by Steven Avery. Avery is the Two Rivers man who was wrongly convicted for a 1985 sexual assault and spent years in prison before being exonerated by DNA evidence in 2003.
Avery told WFRV-TV that Halbach took a photo of his van and left.
“I said she was out here no more than five minutes,” Avery was quoted as saying on the station’s Web site. “(Investigators) came in and looked around and they left. I don’t know if I’m a suspect but as long as I can help, I’ll help.”
Officials were trying to determine if she had any appointments after that, and if she showed up for them.
Sheriff says Steven Avery may be among last to see missing woman

The Macon Telegraph article in the Sunday edition, ‘An open wound’: Community desperate to find missing teacher, tells all the reasons why a community loves her so and the reasons for their desperation in finding Tara.
From Tara’s selfless acts of helping others like Kenyatta McDonald when her house burned down and lost everything to the purchasing of student’s prom dresses who could not afford them; Tara Grinstead saw fit that they had them. It is no wonder that this caring school teacher was so adored by so many and why her community cares to deeply in her return.
When Kenyatta McDonald’s house burned down this summer and she lost everything, it was Tara Grinstead who made sure the high school senior had what she needed.
Grinstead bought her things she wanted and things she needed, such as clothes and shoes.
“She was right there, even if I needed a hug or a shoulder to cry on she was there,” McDonald said.
She’s a teacher who bought students prom dresses when they couldn’t afford them. The students paid her back over time. But she put her students in a fake jail when they didn’t pay fake taxes with their “Grinstead dollars” – part of her lesson on taxation without representation.
“She’s just been so close to students in her classes,” Conner said. “Any type of kid she could talk with, the A-plus students who are basically care free and those kids who are at risk.”
What makes a community love someone as much as they have come to care for Tara Grinstead? Maybe the fact that as her step mother, Connie Grinstead stated, “Grinstead didn’t move to Ocilla intending to stay.” The fact that Tara embraced her community and cared for its people as especially her students. Wanting to become part of a community and wanting to be a role model, one would be hard pressed not to have seen a small town community like Ocilla not embrace someone so caring and thoughtful like Tara Grinstead.
Grinstead didn’t move to Ocilla intending to stay, her stepmother, Connie Grinstead, said.
During her senior year at Georgia Southwestern State in Americus, she did her student teaching at Irwin County High. She fell in love with the town and its people. When the school system offered her a job eight years ago, she accepted, her stepmother said.
Connie Grinstead said her stepdaughter loves history and loves helping people, but there were other reasons for her career choice.
Pageants gave Grinstead self-esteem and confidence, and so she encouraged her students to do them, too, her stepmother said.
“It has helped her so much in her life that she knew it could benefit other young ladies in the same way,” she said.
“She just liked young people. She always wanted to be a good role model for them,” she said.

The search continues for Tara Grinstead as authorities and volunteers continue to search for a popular high school teacher who has been missing for two weeks.
But so far, authorities have found few clues as to what may have happened to Grinstead.
The clothes she wore Saturday night and her cell phone were found at her home. Her car was outside and unlocked, which her sister, Anita Gattis, said was unusual. Her pocketbook and keys were gone, police said.
Grinstead is single and lives with her dog and cat. There was no clear sign of a struggle at her home, police said. But a broken lamp was found in her bedroom and her alarm clock was found under her bed.
It is possible she was kidnapped, authorities have said. But Irwin County Sheriff Donnie Youghn said there are no suspects in the case.
As per the WMAZ 13, Town Searches for Missing Teacher
The family of Tara Grinstead, who has been missing for two weeks, now is offering a reward of $80,000 and has hired a private investigator in hopes of finding clues into the disappearance of Tara Grinstead.

Amanda Bien, 16, has been missing since September 24, 2005 and her mother believes is traveling with a band of gypsies. Amanda, who will be 17 years old next March, is 5 feet 6 inches tall and approximately 110 pounds. She has hazel eyes, brown hair and a pale complexion. She has pierced ears and a pierced navel and may be traveling with her boyfriend.
A local mother is asking for help locating her 16-year-old daughter who has been missing since Sept. 24 and who she believes is traveling with a band of gypsies.
Linda Bien said her daughter, Amanda Bien, is with her 15-year-old boyfriend who she says is one member of a family of scam artists from Salisbury, Mass. Linda said she wants to get her daughter home before the gypsy family leaves for Florida.
“I have to get my daughter out of there,” said Linda. “I feel like she’s in a cult … and they have no respect for anyone or anything.”
It appears that Amanda Bien has a history of runaways; however, the concern is the potential danger that she may get herself in, let alone she is presently considered a minor.
Police Chief Larry Streeter said Amanda has had 15 contacts with police, mostly with runaway issues and a variety of delinquency issues.
“She has been a repeated runaway, and it’s a result of a relationship with a male companion,” said Streeter. “We do not believe her disappearance was combative or hostile, but that doesn’t take away from any possible endangerment she could face.”
Any information regarding her whereabouts should be reported immediately to the Newton Police Department at 382-6774, or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at (800) 843-5678.
