Sex offender arrested in coed’s disappearance
A registered sex offender sought in connection with the disappearance of 19-year-old Donna Jou of Rancho Santa Margarita was in custody in Florida today, but her whereabouts remain unknown.
John Burgess, 35, who calls himself SinJin Stevens and has his mother and other relatives in Florida, was arrested Tuesday in Jacksonville after he was seen on a bicycle near a motel dropping a clear plastic bag that officials said contained rock cocaine.
Missing teen’s father, Reza Jou, begs for help
Anguishing about his daughter’s disappearance more than a month ago, Reza Jou asked Monday for the governors of California and Florida to expedite the extradition of a convicted sex offender who could know the teen’s whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Burgess isn’t cooperating with Orange County investigators from California who interviewed him in Florida about Jou’s disappearance.
Jou’s father wants Burgess taken to Los Angeles for questioning. Reza Jou asked attorneys general, governors and Burgess’ mother to intervene.
“He is in jail in Jacksonville, Fla., using his constitutional right not to speak about my daughter’s whereabouts,” Jou said. “This is a very urgent matter. My child’s life is in danger.”
Jou said he’d received no response to his urgent plea, but The Daily News contacted California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office for comment.

Just in to Missing & Exploited, Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch is in Florida helping in the search for missing 22 year old Stepha Henry. Stepha Henry is a graduate of criminal justice who has been missing since May 29, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale, FL when she attended a club. Stepha Henry checked her voice mail at 4:13 am but was never seen or heard from again.
According to Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch, they are going to use several resources to aid in Stepha’s search. They will be using side scanner sonar and search the many water areas in the vicinity where she went missing.
Tim Miller also stated that they are trying to locate the vehicle that Stepha Henry was given a ride in to the club. Tim agrees with the police that the car could hold keys to the mystery of missing Stepha Henry.
Where is that Acura Integra? The man who drove it that night says he borrowed it from a friend of a friend. Police think if they can find the car, maybe they’ll get some answers. Is it abandoned somewhere? Or innocently being driven by its owner? Any answer would help. (AMW)
Tim Miller stated that the family of Stepha Miller asked us if we could not help bring their daughter home. Tim stated, “that law enforcement has been extremely cooperative in mapping a plan of action to search for Stepha”. We just want to bring Stepha home to her family, said Tim Miller”.
UPDATE I: Search for Missing Stepha Henry continues with aide of TES
The Henrys have also hired a high-profile search and rescue team, Texas EquuSearch, to help find Stepha. The nonprofit organization conducts searches by foot, water (diving and boats), air (using helicopters and planes), and dog teams (air scent and corpse.)
{{{SM Editors note: The Broward Times in this article stated that the family hired Texas Equusearch. That is not correct. The editors at this news paper need a understand that non-profits are not hired. The family asked for TES’s help, they did not hire them. We will make this correction of the misspoken word, if The Broward Times does not.}}}
EquuSearch director Tim Miller said the group was involved in the recovery of pregnant murder victim Jessie Davis’ body in Ohio. The company also helped in the search for murder victim Kelsey Smith, and for Natalee Holloway, a partying teen who is still listed as missing in Aruba.
“The Henrys contacted us in Texas and we wanted to get involved with the search,” he said. “We’ve brought sonar equipment to search underwater.” (Broward Times)

29 year old Alicia Minton has been missing since June 1, 2007. She was last seen at 1:00 pm when she left her children off with a friend and headed to Beaver Lake. Since that date, Alicia Minton has never been seen and very little details have been released.
Description: Missing persons poster
- AGE: 29
- HT: 5’7”
- WT: 110 LBS
- HAIR: BROWN
- EYES: BROWN
- She was last seen wearing a red bikini, red tank top, shorts, and pink flip flops.
- She was driving a sliver BMW 301, which was later found near the intersection of Second and Locust Streets in northeast Rogers, AR.
Searches have been conducted; however, the authorities have remained extremely quiet in this case.
Authorities and volunteers have searched the islands, shoreline and waters for any sign of Minton since June 8. A purse that may have belonged to Minton was found June 15. Sonar equipment and divers have been tediously going over the underwater terrain searching for any clues to find Minton.
A family representative has asked police and volunteers to continue searching for Minton.
While police remain tightlipped, court documents show the problems in Minton’s past, including when the state took away a child in 1998 after she “used drugs extensively during her pregnancy.” Minton appealed, though those records remain sealed. (Pine Bluff Commercial)
Search Efforts Expand For Missing Benton Co. Woman
Groups from Missouri and Texas are the latest to join the in the search for Alicia Minton at Prairie Creek on Beaver Lake, 40/29 reported.
The Rev. Michael Powers spoke on behalf of Minton’s parents, Roger and Brenda Mathis.
“The family would like to thank all of the law enforcement officers from all over this area that have been searching for our daughter. We would also like to thank all the volunteers that have been in and around the lake daily, aiding with the search,” said Powers.
From the Texas Equusearch website:
Although three days of intensive search with the use of side scan sonar equipment provided no images of Alicia, we are not giving up. We are immediately in the process of obtaining a marine magnetometer that will scan more accurately, more efficiently, and hopefully with more results. We plan to return to Rogers to continue our search for Alicia as soon as possible. Please continue to pray for her family and especially for her small children.
Randal Todd Greenway, the ex-boyfriend of Alicia Minton is considered a person of interest, but has not been charged with Alicia’s disappearance. He was just recently sentenced to 20 years on 5 felony drug convictions. It has been stated by Michelle Hurt, Minton’s sister, that Alicia’s ex-boyfriend Randal Todd Greenway once “beat the crap out of her.”
Hurt said she didn’t know a lot about Minton’s former boyfriend, Randall Todd Greenway. She added that on one occasion, Minton called her about an incident where Greenway “beat the crap out of her” and that he was abusive.
Greenway pleaded guilty Thursday to five felonies and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He has not been charged in connection with Minton’s disappearance.
Hurt told her sister to just “walk away, walk away” from Greenway but thinks her sister was scared to do so.
“She loved him and love makes you do stupid things,” Hurt said. “I just know that he wasn’t good for her.”
“She’s made poor choices,” Hurt said about Minton’s past involvement with drugs but added that she wasn’t doing them now.

As police search for missing 9 month pregnant Jessie Davis, they discovered another rather troubling set of circumstances. A day old baby was left abandoned at a private residence in Wooster, OH. The baby was taken to the hospital where DNA tests were performed. Could this be Jessie Davis’ baby?
(Chattanooga Times Free Press)
A couple arriving home from dinner Monday night discovered
the newborn on the porch of their rural home south of Wooster,
Maurer said. The baby was dressed in a sleeper. The wicker basket
contained a blanket and a bottle of formula, but there was no note, he said.
Police investigating the disappearance of pregnant mom Jessie Davis are looking into the discovery of an abandoned newborn baby 45 miles from where the woman was last seen.
The day-old infant girl was left Monday night in a wicker basket on the doorstep of a residence in rural south Wooster, Ohio and taken to Wooster Community Hospital, where a DNA sample was taken.
What are the chances that this baby was that of missing Jessie Davis?
Authorities are trying to determine whether there is a link between that baby and the one Davis, 26, was expecting, said Stark City Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Rick Perez in a Tuesday evening press conference.
“Investigators are not ruling anything out at this time,” Perez said.
Thomas Maurer, sheriff in neighboring Wayne County, does not believe there is a connection between the baby and Davis. He said a doctor determined that the newborn was less than 24 hours old.
“We’re using every caution we can” to ID the infant or eliminate the possibility that she is related to Davis, he said. (FOX News)
Baby found near where woman disappeared
A newborn girl with her umbilical cord still attached was found in a basket on a doorstep 45 miles from where a pregnant woman vanished, authorities said Tuesday. A DNA sample was taken from the infant Tuesday and was given to authorities investigating the disappearance.
Newborn baby girl found in Wooster, police check for ties to missing mom case
Police in Wooster confirm that a newborn baby girl was found Monday night abandoned on the doorstep of a home.
According to police the baby, a white female, was found in a basket at a home on East Messner in Applecreek.
The homeowners found the child when they returned home from dinner.
The baby was taken to Wooster Community Hospital where officials say she “remains in good health and identified as a less than 24-hour-old female.”
Wayne County Children Services has temporary custody of the child.
There will be an official hearing Wednesday in juvenile court before Judge Raymond Leisy.
Update I: Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch to help search for missing Jessie Davis
The nationally recognized organization, Texas EquuSearch, is one of two national groups family members say are now volunteering in the search for Jessie Davis.
Davis, a mother of a two-year-old son was last heard from last Wednesday.
According to a spokeswoman at the team’s Texas office, Texas EquuSearch director, Tim Miller, is en route to Northeast Ohio and is expected to arrive late Tuesday night.
It’s expected the team will talk with law enforcement officials and family members to assess the situation. From there, the group will determine whether their resources will be helpful in the search.
EquuSearch President to Help Search for Missing Pregnent Woman
Texas EquuSearch President Tim Miller is en route to Cleveland, Ohio, to help search for a 9-month pregnant woman who has been missing for nearly a week, FOX 26 News reported Tuesday.
An official with EquuSearch told FOX 26 News that Miller and another EquuSearch volunteer will meet with law enforcement officials and relatives of Jessie Davis Wednesday morning to help establish a game plan and see what resources officials need to find the 26-year-old woman.
Originally one thought was that the abductor maybe wanted the baby of Jessie Davis. However, now that an abandon baby was found near where Jessie Davis went missing that thought process may be ruled our. Or possibly that may have been the original intention, but the heat and media exposure was turned up that any such plan had to be abandoned.
UPDATE II: Jessie Davis Baby Daddy Bobby Cutts Jr Slammed by Ex, Nikki Giavasis
Her boyfriend Bobby Cutts Jr is not a suspect according to police. He is the father of her child and the father of her unborn baby. He was criticized heavily by his ex, model and actress Nikki Giavasis on Fox News on Tuesday.
Giavasis told Fox that Cutts once kicked down her door when he broke into her house after their relationship ended because he was upset that she was dating someone new. She had taken several restraining orders out against him, she said, including one in 2007. He also hit and verbally abused their daughter, who no longer sees him.

18 year old Randle Terry had been missing since Tuesday, May 29, 2007 while swimming in Spring Creek near Riley Fuzzel Road. Volunteer members of Texas Equusearch joined the efforts to help find the missing Terry.
Texas EquuSearch crews used boats to search the water.
“The current is not as strong as I thought it was going to be,” said Tim Miller with Texas EquuSearch. “The waters went down considerably since yesterday, so all we need now is a little bit of luck and a lot of prayers.”
The Coast Guard and local law enforcement agencies searched the area until about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday but found nothing.
Searchers said the water is very murky and about 20 feet deep because of recent rainfall.
The searched turned into a recovery mission by Wednesday afternoon. Volunteers believe Terry’s body is near where he was last seen.
“Normally, they don’t go too far. But, we do realize we’ve got quite a current here,” Miller said.
However, on Thursday the body of Randle Terry was found by members of Texas Equusearch in Spring Creek.
TES crew members have found the body of Randle Terry about a mile from where he went underwater in the creek. We pray that this family can now find the peace and begin to heal as they find ways to deal with this tragedy. We wish to thank everyone for their genuine care and concern to find this young man. A special thank you to all of our members who continue to dedicate themselves for such a tough job. Thank you to all of Randle’s classmates, teachers, family and friends that came to support each other. May you all continue to stay close and keep each other through this difficult time and always. God Bless you all.
This beautiful photo was provided by Carolyn Mitchell. Randle’s family wanted us to share this photo with you all. May You Rest In Peace. (TES)
