Ryan Ramos, 9 year old abducted
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children: Amber Alert
Circumstances: Ryan was abducted by his father, Lonnie Ramos, on July 2, 2008. A felony warrant for Kidnapping was issued for the abductor on July 2, 2008. They may be traveling in a red Porsche with license plates 4BWU827 or a white Chevrolet Suburban with license plates 5LTC712 or a 2005 Fleetwood Providence RV with California license plates 5EGW556 similar to the one pictured above. CAUTION IS ADVISED.
Description of father Lonnie Ramos:
A man who allegedly shot his estranged wife in the face and fled with his 9-year-old son may have switched his car for a motor home, authorities said Thursday.
An Amber Alert was in effect throughout California for Lonnie Ramos, 46. He was believed to be driving a rented 39-foot purple-and-gold Fleetwood Providence motor home with the license plate number 5EGW556, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.
Ramos was possibly in the San Diego area and Border Patrol agents were notified in case he tried to head for Mexico, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
Amormino said Ramos was considered “armed and extremely dangerous.”
Ramos apparently jumped out from behind a car or bushes and shot his estranged wife in the face with a semiautomatic weapon about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when she drove to his home in the Portola Hills area to pick up their son, Ryan, for a custody exchange, Amormino said. (Fox News)
Police ask that anyone who has information on the shooting and abduction of Ryan Ramos please contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 714-628-7170 or dial 911
UPDATE I: Lake Forest man accused of kidnapping son and shooting estranged wife had financial and personal problems
UPDATE II: Amber Alert issued for child who could be in Utah
Ramos was seen with his son trying to buy plane tickets out of John Wayne Airport after the incident occurred. Ramos has family in Texas and Washington, D.C. Police say he may also have ties to Utah, although they haven’t specified what those ties may be.
UPDATE III: Orange County authorities expected to make the announcement at a press conference later Saturday morning.
They think Ramos may have rented a purple and gold Fleetwood Providence motor home with license plate 5EGW556.
UPDATE IV: Utah Amber Alert no longer in effect for Ryan Ramos
UPDATE V: Father (Lonnie Ramos) who took boy (Ryan Ramos) likely in Mexico, say police
The Amber Alert went out to Utah late Friday because Ramos has a girlfriend in Draper, police said. It was canceled at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. A Wednesday sighting of the motor home in Utah was likely mistaken, Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino said.
Police are planning to search the motor home, a 2005 Fleetwood Providence, for possible clues and then work with Mexican authorities to pursue Ramos, Amormino said.
Mexican law prevents its citizens from being extradited to the United States for death penalty charges, but Ramos is neither a Mexican citizen nor a death
UPDATE VI: Ryan Ramos Found Safe in Mexico
Ryan Romas has been found safe in a church in Juarez Mexico. His father is still a fugative.
Authorities on Sunday announced that Ryan Ramos, allegedly kidnapped by his father last week, has been found safe in Mexico.
Lonnie Ramos, the boy’s father, allegedly shot his estranged wife and then kidnapped Ryan, according to Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said that the boy will be reunited with his family shortly. His mother, Gynnae Ramos is recovering from the shooting.
Lonnie Ramos has not been found, according to authorities.

UPDATE VII: Fugitive Dad Killed By Bus
A desperate five-day search for a 9-year-old boy abducted by his father in Southern California ended in Mexico, where the man died after being hit by a bus and the boy was found safe in a Mormon church building, authorities said Monday.

The ferry was en route to Cebu from Manila when it capsized on Saturday
Coast guard chief Vice Adm. Wilfredo Tamayo said 28 survivors of the ferry disaster had been found. Manila’s DZBB radio said the survivors, including four crewmen and three women, drifted at sea for more than 24 hours wearing their life jackets, reaching Mulanay township in eastern Quezon province late Sunday.
Coast guard frogmen who managed to get to the stricken ship got no response when they rapped on the hull with metal instruments, then had to give up late Sunday due to the strong waves. The ship carried more than 740 passengers and crew.

The recovery brought to 32 the number of survivors recovered from the sinking of the Princess of the Stars Saturday off the coast of Sibuyan Island in the central Philippines.

The 24,000-tonne ferry sank after running aground due to huge waves and strong winds spawned by Typhoon Fengshen, which left at least 152 people dead.

UPDATE II: Divers retrieve bodies from Philippine ferry
While the divers have only found bodies so far, officials were not willing to give up hope of finding more survivors among the more than 800 people missing since the seven-story ferry listed and went down in a half-hour or less Saturday.
“There is a slim chance that we can still find survivors” insided the ferry, coast guard Lt. Cmdr Rogelio Villanueva said. “As the days pass, indeed the chance is getting slimmer.”

52 year old Mark Ginn had been missing since April 14, 2008. He was last seen driving a 1996 bronze Jeep Grand Cherokee with license plate number 255 HEN. The FBI became involved in the case and was searching for Ginn.
WLBT has learned why the FBI is involved. Sources confirm there is an ongoing investigation concerning Ginn’s employment with BankPlus in Byram.
The probe is focused on suspicious activity at the bank. BankPlus officials would not comment. However, an official with the Byram branch earlier said that they could neither confirm nor deny any money is missing from the bank and they are cooperating with authorities.
Search Continues for Missing Byram Man
Ginn: Missing person or fugitive?
Not long after that, Ginn vanished.
Footage from a local Home Depot showed him buying a hose and duct tape, which led to initial speculation he planned to use these items to use his car to asphyxiate himself.
Authorities have since wondered if he made the purchases to trick them into thinking he committed suicide.
A week after Ginn vanished, the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department enlisted help from the FBI, which investigates embezzlement and other crimes against banks insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
The department also received help from the U.S. Marshals Service, which specializes in searching for fugitives.
Rumors swirled that Ginn may be on the Caribbean island of Barbados, but if authorities know where he is, they aren’t saying.
They believe Ginn is alive and have publicly ruled out foul play.
UPDATE I: Ginn Missing Person Case May Now Be Classified As Criminal Investigation
WLBT has learned a Jackson business owner may be the victim of some fraudulent loan activity by Ginn. As WLBT first reported, the FBI is investigating suspicious transactions at the bank where the 52-year-old Ginn was employed.
Sources tell us Warren Logan, the owner of this business, Graves Auto Electric on Highway 80 West, recently discovered two separate 50-thousand dollar loans on property he owns…loans he apparently did not seek.
UPDATE II: Vehicle of Mark Ginn Found Sunday with Body Inside
The 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee belonging to missing 52 year old Mark Ginn was found Sunday be two people in a rural area north of Hinds County.
After 34 days with no sign of Mark Ginn or his vehicle, the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department receives a surprising phone call. Two people found Ginn’s 1996 bronze Jeep Grand Cherokee in a heavily wooded area on private property near the intersection of Johnson Line and Cox Ferry Roads. That’s in rural Hinds County, 11 miles west of Flora. A body was inside the vehicle. Sources tell WLBT, the body was wearing the same clothes Ginn was last seen in. The Sheriff’s Department can not confirm if it is Ginn until a medical pathologist identifies the body.
The jeep was found less than 20 miles away from where Ginn was last seen driving in Clinton. He had undergone open heart surgery two weeks before his disappearance. Those close to Ginn feared it may have been a factor.
An unidentified body was also found in the vehicle. Hinds County Sheriff’s Department Captain Steve Pickett said the body is now at the State Crime Lab where a medical pathologist will make the identification.
UPDATE III: Autopsy May Determine If Body Is That Of Mark Ginn
Even though the body has not yet been positively identified, it looks like the family considers it strictly a formality. Funeral arrangements have been made for Mark Ginn after finding his vehicle with a body inside. Family members obviously feel that it is Mark Ginn.

SAN DIEGO — The fishing boat belonging to an Oceanside couple who went missing at sea this week has washed up on the beach near Rosarito, Mexico, authorities said.
No one was on board the 32-foot boat when it landed ashore Friday north of Rosarito, a beach community 20 miles south of the border, U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Jeremy Denning said.
An aerial search for the vessel named Pelican was called off, he said.
UPDATE II: Mexican Navy Handling Sea Search For Missing SoCal Couple
SAN DIEGO — The search for a missing Oceanside couple whose fishing boat washed ashore just north of Rosarito, Mexico, is in the hands of the Mexican Navy, a U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant said Saturday.
The U.S. Coast Guard has inspected the waters off San Diego County with a helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft, but the search has been suspended, according to Denning.
Odds of survival in the cool waters off the U.S. shore “are slim” at this point, the lieutenant said.
If they’re to be found alive, the greater probability is that they would be off Baja California near where the Pelican was beached, an area the Mexican Navy continues to search, Denning said.
Hartman called family members Thursday afternoon to say they were fishing off Camp Pendleton and getting ready to return to port. He’s been described as an experienced boater and fisherman.

Jennifer Kesse has been missing since January 24, 2006 in Orlando, FL. Jennifer’s parents have been regular guests of Scared Monkeys and have been true inspirations to those who have lost loved ones. Drew and Joyce Kesse have worked with Florida House of Representatives to create a bill intended to help future missing adults.
The parents of Jennifer Kesse have truly been inspirational in their efforts to find their missing daughter.
Joyce Kesse, Jennifer’s Mother:
“It’s hard, very hard, but we remain devoted and committed to finding Jennifer, and we will not stop. We’ll scream from the mountains to keep the awareness out there. We are blessed to have the family and friend support we have and the support of the community, which continues to astound us.”
Drew Kesse, Jennifer’s Father:
“They will continue on, they will never stop. They have promised us that.”
The Kesse’s have fought long and hard to find their missing daughter as well as trying to establish laws that will help families in the future of missing adults.
The house passed a bill on Friday requiring law enforcement to send out alerts within two hours for any missing person under the age of 25.
The cutoff use to be 18 and as a result, it did not apply when Kesse went missing.
The bill is named for Kesse and Tiffany Sessions, who vanished from the University of Florida 18 years ago.
The bill still requires the governor’s signature.

Is it possible that the mystery picture that surfaced on the internet is that of missing Tionda Bradley? Lois Gibson, a forensic artist with the Houston Police Department, said the online photo is that of Tionda Bradley, who disappeared at age 10 on July 6, 2001
10 year old Tionda Bradley and 3 year old Diamond Bradley have been missing since July 6, 2001. They were left home by their mother when she went to work. When their mother returned home at noon she found a note written in Tionda’s handwriting stating that the girls were going to the store and going to play at a near by school.
Friday night, Tracey called authorities and reported Diamond and Tionda missing. During their investigation, cops say several neighborhood children came forward and told cops they saw the girls playing outside of their complex around noon on Friday. Police say no one has seen them since.
The search was on for the Bradley sisters. Police searched the areas surrounding the girl’s home and lake. Police even dug up the cellar of the abandoned New Hope church–but found nothing. Investigators searched steel mills, thick woods, and the murky bottoms of small lakes and big ponds. (AMW)
