Tim Miller & Texas EquuSearch Attend the 21st Annual meeting of Parents of Murdered Children (Family of Kenny Ebarb)

Kenny Ebarb has been missing since July 17, 2005 in the vicinity of the 21000 block of Countryside Rd. near FM 1960 East. The next day, July 16, 2005, Ebarb’s truck was found, abandoned and burned, about 23 miles away, in Huffman, TX. For two years, Ebarb’s family has dealt with Kenny’s disappearance with a range of emotions from hope to despair, frustration to anger, grief to loneliness not knowing what happened or having recovered his body. The case was deemed a homicide without a body.

More than 400 people including the Ebarb family and Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch attended The 21st annual meeting of Parents of Murdered Children. So many times we forget about the pain and anguish that family members go through after their loved one’s body is found. It can be even worse psychologically for those left behind when a body is never found. They are just left to wonder and anguish over what happened. Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch said during the conference:

The couple were joined in the hotel lobby by Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch. Miller said cases of missing young men are “often overlooked or ignored” by the media, which “tends to focus on cases of missing women, or children.”

Miller was the luncheon speaker at the convention. Still, he took time to sit with the Ebarbs, gently advising them to attend one of the many workshops held for parents, relatives and siblings of murder victims.

“Everybody in this room thinks they’ve gone through the worst possible thing – losing a child,” Miller said. “I can tell them they have not. The worst possible thing is what you two are going through – not knowing. Not having that closure that allows you to fully grieve.” (Houston Chronicle)

The families of murdered and missing loved ones are a breed apart and have special issues and problems that none of us could even begin to relate to. Please remember that even after their family members are found. That although their missing loved one has been returned home, their grieving process goes on for years.

8 People Reported Missing from the I-35W Minnesota Bridge Collapse

As investigators are still looking for answers as to the cause of the catastrophic I-35W bridge collapse, searchers continue look for the missing. Due to the severity and massive catastrophic condition of the bridge collapse, many may be trapped beneath the tons of concrete. Divers spent a third day looking for the missing to no avail. Today, the police made public a list of the eight people who continue to be missing following the bridge collapse. However, police stated that there may be others who have not yet been reported as missing.

Investigators have names that haven’t been connected to the bridge, and divers and recovery workers have found license plate numbers that don’t belong to an identified missing person or survivor, authorities said.

The Associated Press earlier identified five of the missing, who all appeared on the police list: Christine Sacorafas, 45, a recent transplant to Minnesota who was on her way to teach a Greek folk dancing class; Greg Jolstad, 45, a construction worker who was operating a skid loader on the bridge; Peter Hausmann, 47, a former missionary heading to pick up a friend; and Somali immigrant Sadiya Sahal, 23, a pregnant nursing student traveling with her 2-year-old daughter, Hanah.

The police list also included Richard Chit, Vera Peck and Scott Sathers. No information was included about them. (ABC News)

It is obviously a terribly trying time for family and friends of victims wait for the searches to bring their loved ones home.

A look at some of the people missing in Wednesday’s bridge collapse in Minneapolis
Police ID 8 still missing after Minnesota bridge collapse

As investigators probed what caused an interstate bridge packed with rush-hour traffic to collapse into the Mississippi River this week, Minneapolis police Saturday night issued a statement naming the eight people — including a 2-year-old girl — still missing in the murky waters.

UPDATE I: 9th body found at Minnesota bridge site

MINNEAPOLIS – Divers found another body in the Mississippi River on Sunday, 11 days after a highway bridge collapsed into the fast-flowing water, raising the official death toll to nine.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body as 20-year-old Richard Chit of St. Anthony. His mother, 50-year-old Vera Peck of Bloomington, is still missing.

The other three people known to be missing are Christine Sacorafas, 45, of White Bear Lake; Greg Jolstad, 45, of Mora; and Scott Sathers, 29, of Maple Grove.

Its Texas EquuSearch’s motto, “You are not Alone,” and TES hopes that between the family, law enforcement and themselves, they can bring a resolution to this missing persons case and Donna Jou home to her family.

Recently 35-year-old John Burgess was arrested in Florida on separate charges; however, he remains a prime suspect in Donna Jou’s disappearance.

Sex offender arrested in coed’s disappearance

A registered sex offender sought in connection with the disappearance of 19-year-old Donna Jou of Rancho Santa Margarita was in custody in Florida today, but her whereabouts remain unknown.

John Burgess, 35, who calls himself SinJin Stevens and has his mother and other relatives in Florida, was arrested Tuesday in Jacksonville after he was seen on a bicycle near a motel dropping a clear plastic bag that officials said contained rock cocaine.

Missing teen’s father, Reza Jou, begs for help

Anguishing about his daughter’s disappearance more than a month ago, Reza Jou asked Monday for the governors of California and Florida to expedite the extradition of a convicted sex offender who could know the teen’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Burgess isn’t cooperating with Orange County investigators from California who interviewed him in Florida about Jou’s disappearance.

Jou’s father wants Burgess taken to Los Angeles for questioning. Reza Jou asked attorneys general, governors and Burgess’ mother to intervene.

“He is in jail in Jacksonville, Fla., using his constitutional right not to speak about my daughter’s whereabouts,” Jou said. “This is a very urgent matter. My child’s life is in danger.”

Jou said he’d received no response to his urgent plea, but The Daily News contacted California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office for comment.

Two teenage boys Arrested in Murder & Burning of Amber LeAnn Hess

Two teenage boys who attended Coolidge High School have been arrested in the murder of Amber LeAnn Hess. Amber LeAnn Hess’ body was recently found burned in the desert. The two teenage boys will be booked on first degree murder charges. What was the motive why these two boys would commit such a hideous act of violence?

Two teenage boys, including one who was described as a one-time close friend of the victim, were arrested Wednesday in the killing of a Queen Creek girl whose burned body was found in the desert, authorities said.

The 16-year-olds made statements that led detectives to believe they took part in the killing of Amber LeAnn Hess, 17, whose body was found Monday near Florence, Pinal County Sheriff Chris Vasquez said. Her body has been positively identified using dental records.

From all indications in that there was an attempt to cover up the crime by taking her body and her car, one would have suspected that Amber knew her killers. As it turns out they were both acquaintances, one of the boys having been a past very good friend.

Candy Hess said one of those arrested was one of her daughter’s best friends, who spent hours in their home playing video games and would call constantly.

“He was like a brother to her, which makes this even more confusing to us,” Candy Hess said.

Candy Hess said her daughter had a falling-out with the boy, who had called the girl a disrespectful name. The mother emphasized the boy wasn’t her daughter’s boyfriend.

From all accounts the attack was brutal and Amber LeAnn put up quite a fight. What would possess two people to act in such a heinous way and brutally murder Amber LeAnne Hess? The two will most likely be charged as adults. One seriously has to wonder what evil lurks in some people’s hearts.

“Basically they just didn’t like her and for whatever reason were planning to kill her,” Vasquez said. “They went to her home and through a combination of beating, stabbing and choking, killed her.”

The teens will be booked on first-degree murder charges, and other charges are likely, Vasquez said. They likely will be charged as adults, and had a court appearance set for Wednesday afternoon in juvenile court in Pinal County.

“From what I’m told this girl fought for her life in that home, and she didn’t die easy – it was very brutal,” Vasquez said in an interview from Salt Lake City, where he is attending a law enforcement convention. “If they had been adults I would be screaming for the death penalty in this case.” (FOX News)

UPDATE I: Burned body found, possibly linked to a missing 17-year-old girl

This is not a very optimistic update in the case of missing Amber LeAnn Hess. Authorities have found a burned body and other evidence that lead them to believe it may be that of missing Amber LeAnn Hess. Although they are unable to confirm, the evidence (and we are speculating) might be that of her missing car.

Pinal County Sheriff’s officials say they’ve discovered a burned body and other evidence that indicates the victim may be a missing 17-year-old Chandler Heights woman. The body was found off the Hunt Highway near the Anthem development.

The Pinal County chief deputy says at this time, they’re unable to confirm the body is that of Amber Hess. (KOLD)

Originally, one would speculate that this could have been a random robbery where the person may have thought that the entire family had gone on vacation. However, it is hard to imagine that a burglar/killer would have gone to such great lengths to hide and dispose of a body. One would tend to think that the killer was known to the victim.

Teen missing; burned body found

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has ordered an autopsy on a burned body discovered Monday in the desert to determine whether investigators have found 17-year-old Amber LeAnn Hess, who was last heard from Friday.

The body was found in an area off of Hunt Highway, about five miles northwest of Florence. Investigators found evidence at the site that connects the case to the other crime scene – the home where Amber lives with her parents, said Jerald Monahan, Pinal County chief sheriff’s deputy.

Authorities declined to say what that evidence included.

Danielle Cramer, Missing for 1 year Found in Home in room under Stairway

15 year old Danielle Cramer had been missing since June 14, 2006. Danielle Cramer was discovered by police in the home of an acquaintance of her parents. It would appear that Danielle Cramer was locked in a small room underneath the stairs.

(Danielle Cramer)

Police from Bloomfield went to the home of an acquaintance of her parents with search warrants and to obtain DNA, and found the girl; she was locked in a tiny, 3-foot-tall, 4- or 5-feet-deep room under a staircase, blocked by a dresser, reports the Associated Press.

Her parents had not seen or heard from her in the year in which she was gone, no one around the neighborhood had seen her; there was no indication that anyone had, anyway, and the girl was quite pale. It is probable that she’d been indoors for a long time.

Adam Gault and Ann Murphy were arrested by police and taken in for further questioning.

Authorities have yet to say exactly what Cramer may have been subjected to during her time in captivity. Gault has been charged with unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, and custodial interference, and is being held on bond. Murphy is facing conspiracy and risk of injury charges.

(Adam Gault arrested)

(Ann Murphy arrested)

(Adam Gault, Ann Murphy and Kimberly Cray all face multiple charges for imprisoning a Connecticut teen)

Captive Teen Found Under Hidden Staircase A Yr. After She Disappeared

An incredible story of terror and survival has led to the freedom of a long missing 15-year-old girl in the U.S. Danielle Cramer disappeared from her West Hartford, Connecticut home in June 2006, and authorities had been searching for her ever since. Many had given up hope she was still alive. But incredibly on Wednesday, they found her safe in a place no one ever thought to look – a locked space hidden under a stairwell in a couple’s West Bloomfield home.

UPDATE I: Video Trove Of Porn: Sexual Material Reportedly Found On Tapes Seized From Man Charged With Holding Girl

This bizarre story just got even more strange as the man accused of imprisoning a 15 year old girl is now found with a treasure trove of homemade porn. However, Bloomfield police are disputing the information, saying that they don’t yet know what is on videotapes seized from Adam Gault’s home.

Police have found homemade pornography on videos seized from a man charged with unlawfully keeping a teenage girl from her family for a year, a law enforcement source close to the investigation said.

The source said investigators are trying to determine the identities of a number of girls in the videos, which are of poor quality and were apparently posted on the Internet at various times. Adam Gault, a West Hartford dog trainer, is charged in the disappearance of 15-year-old Danielle Cramer of Bloomfield.

Danielle has told authorities that Gault was using her for Internet sex shows and modeling. It was not clear whether Gault, 41, participated in the shows. (The Hartford Courant)

CLOSET GAL GUY’S PORN TAPES

Adam Gault, 41, had a collection of grainy videos – some of which were posted on the Internet – that featured various young girls who have yet to be identified, sources told The Hartford Courant.

The videos were taken at Gault’s home, sources said.

Gault has been held on $1 million bond since Wednesday, when cops found Danielle Cramer, 15, locked in a secret room under a staircase.

Gault’s common-law wife Ann Murphy and a friend, Kimberly Cray, are also in custody.

UPDATE II: Just Like a Typical Defense Attorney … States Clients were only Harboring 15 year old Against Abusive Parents.

So these people were saving her from abusive parents and exploiting her to do porn on the internet? Isn’t that rich.

The parents’ attorney, Marc Needelman, also dismissed as “a total fabrication” defense claims that the girl had been abused at her own home and that she had found a safe haven in the home of Adam Gault, a 41-year-old man who had once worked with her stepfather. Police also have contested the claims.

“The Bloomfield police department has been involved in the investigation for over a year. They publicly stated yesterday in no uncertain terms that (the girl’s parents) have absolutely no responsibility, have committed no crimes or engaged in any improprieties,” Needelman said. (Houston Chronicle)
