6 of 7 Missing Boaters in S.C. Rescued

Five of six missing boaters aboard the overturned catamaran, Super Suds II, were rescued off the South Carolina coast. The coast guard is still searching for the last missing boater.

The group had been on a charted fishing expedition Wednesday when the 26-foot catamaran capsized about 15 miles off Murrells Inlet, authorities said.

Five survivors were spotted with the overturned boat about 11:30 a.m. Thursday and pulled to safety by a Coast Guard helicopter, said Capt. John Cameron, commander of Coast Guard Sector Charleston. A volunteer boater assisting with the search found another person from the boat clinging to a life jacket and hauled him aboard.

He said the survivors said the vessel capsized and everyone went into the water. They all stayed with the vessel for a time, but then two of the people got separated, Cameron said. The boaters identities were not released.

US Ambassador Tony Garza to Pressure Mexico on Missing Americans

United States Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza promised to maintain pressure on the Mexican government until it finds 22 Americans who are missing in the border city of Nuevo Laredo.

In a letter sent to Sen. John Cornyn on Wednesday, Garza said that relieving the suffering of the victims and their families, most of whom live in Laredo, Texas, is a priority for the U.S. mission here.

“John, I want to assure you that my personal attention and our U.S. mission’s efforts will not cease until Mexican officials thoroughly and openly investigate any cases involving missing American citizens,” Garza wrote in the letter to the Texas senator.

Last week, Cornyn, a Republican who chairs the Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship subcommittee, wrote to Garza expressing concern about the situation on the United States’ southeast border.

Bail Set At $3 Million Against Mario Garcia In Christie Wilson Murder Case

Mario Garcia, who is accused of murdering Christie Wilson was back in court attempting to get his bail reduced. Garcia had been held without bail; however, on Monday, the judge imposed a $3 million bail. Garcia’s attorney, Ron Peters, as any defense attorney would do claims his client is innocent.

Christie Wilson, who has been missing for over a month, was last seen leaving the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln with Mario Garcia, 53. He has been charged with murder in the case and pleaded not guilty

Outside of court Monday, Garcia’s attorney, Ron Peters, said that evidence “points a finger at another person” — Wilson’s boyfriend, Daniel Burlando.

“God forbid that they conducted an investigation to the exclusion of any other potential suspect. And that may be where this is heading,” Peters said.

Maybe Attorney Ron Peters would like to explain why his client, Mario Garcia, was treated for scratches, claw marks and a black eye at a medical facility after Christie Wilson’s disappearance? It is suspected that Christie Wilson put up a fight from the medical records that have been obtained by authorities.

The records show the 53-year old from Auburn went to a UC Davis Medical building on Bell Road, shortly after Christie disappeared.

He was apparently treated for scratches and claw marks on his arms, as well as a black eye.

Lt. George Malim of the Sheriff’s office told FOX40 this points to a struggle and he believes Christie may have put up a big fight before being murdered.
