Missing Jogger Judith Nilan Found Dead (Update: Arrest Made)

Judith Nilan was reported missing and was last seen alive about 4:30 p.m. Monday, when she went out for a daily run. Judith Nilan’s body was discovered Tuesday in a building near her home, according to the state police.

The state police used tracking dogs, a helicopter and volunteers to search for Nilan.

Police later cordoned off an area off Red Head Hill Road, not far from the Nilan home.

The body, tentatively identified as Nilan’s, was found at about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, Vance said. It was sent to the medical examiner’s office in Farmington for an autopsy.

Judith Nilan’s body was found on the property owned by Caroll Spinney, the performer who plays Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on the television show “Sesame Street,” a town official said.

Nilan’s husband, Jon Baker, called police Monday night after Nilan failed to return from her daily run, said Sgt. J. Paul Vance, a state police spokesman.

Vance would not say what led police to the storage building, which straddles the Connecticut-Massachusetts line about 6 miles from Nilan’s home and near her jogging route.

No suspects were in custody Tuesday afternoon, but police had solid leads, Vance said.

Sheriff Pulls Deputies From Teketria Buggs’ Search; Volunteers Needed

12-year-old Teketria Buggs is still missing as searches have come up empty in recent days. It is reported that the sheriff will be withdrawing his deputies at this time due to lack of leads. Its appears that future searches will be left up to volunteers to continue.

However, Sheriff Milton Wright reportedly is withdrawing deputies from the search because the manpower is needed elsewhere.

That leaves the search for the missing girl in the hands of volunteers, led by non-profit search-and-rescue members of EquuSearch Texas, members of the Orchard Volunteer Fire Department and residents of the community.

Due to these actions, Texas EquuSearch has put out a call to arms for volunteers to please help and search for the missing Teketria Buggs .

The development has prompted EquuSearch to ask for volunteers to help search beginning Saturday morning. Especially needed are people with horses and four-wheel-drive vehicles, said EquuSearch spokeswoman Barbara Gibson of Houston.

Anyone who can help comb the rural area is urged to “bundle up really good” against the weather and meet at the Orchard Volunteer Fire Department, a block east of State Highway 36 in Orchard, Gibson said. Searchers have assembled at 8 each weekday morning, but Gibson was unsure if the search will begin that early on Saturday.

“The volunteer fire department has really put in the hours,” she said. “Those are some incredible people right there.”

Search for missing Teketria Buggs goes to nearby home

A tip led authorities to expand their search to include a home near where Teketria Buggs’ home is.

There have been no leads and no clues about what happened to the young girl. Each day, searchers return from the field without finding anything, but still with hope.

“If it was our baby, we’d be out there searching. I’d be out there searching. I wouldn’t stop. I couldn’t stop, you know?” said searcher Jaime Schumann.

Although they won’t talk about it, several investigators are again searching the neighboring home.

Police call off search for 12-year-old Teketria Buggs

Authorities are calling off their search for the missing Ft. Bend County girl, 12-year-old Teketria Buggs . They’ve been looking for the 12-year-old Teketria Buggs of Orchard, who was last seen late Friday night.

A dive team with the Texas Department of Public Safety spent much of Friday in the water of the Brazos River — one of two locations where cadaver dogs picked up some sort of scent earlier this week.

“You will probably find something,” said Ft. Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright. “It won’t necessarily be a human body, but there will be something there.”

But on Friday, they didn’t find anything. Teketria was last seen alive a week ago Friday just a few miles from the river in a home in Orchard. She left behind her cell phone and purse.

With no new leads authorities stated that they will not be able to use their resources to search for Teketria.

So with no new leads, Sheriff Wright says his deputies will no longer be used in the physical search for Teketria. That will be left now to Equusearch and its volunteers.

“Basically, our backs are up against the wall,” said Darryl Phillips with Equusearch.

Human Remains Found in Clark County Could be that of Christine Rudy

It appears that there may be a break in the case of Christine Rudy. A grim one in fact. Clark County authorities who have been searching for, Christine Rudy, a missing pregnant woman report tonight that investigators found what appeared to be human remains.

But the Clark County Sheriff’s Department released no details about the discovery, except that the items were transported to the state crime laboratory for analysis and identification.

In a news release, the department says it doesn’t know how long that process will take.

The hunt for 21-year-old Christine Rudy of Thorp has continued since she was reported missing last month.

Her husband says he last saw her the afternoon of November 12th when he left her along a road in a forest about 12 miles from their home at her request after they were arguing.

Authorities are not commenting on whether the remains are that of the missing pregnant Christine Rudy until the tests come back from the State Crime Lab in Madison.

Authorities are not saying where the remains were discovered, but say the State Crime Lab in Madison will analyze what was found. They are also not saying if this is connected to Christine Rudy’s disappearance, but say they notified her parents on Wednesday night about what they found.

Christine has been missing since November 12th. Chief Deputy Jim Backus says the sheriff’s office is still asking the public for information that could help in their investigation into her disappearance. “We’re still leaving the investigation wide open,” he says, “This is just another part of the puzzle that we’re trying to complete the investigation so we’re still continuing on with what we have been doing. We will be waiting for this testing to be completed which sounds like it may not be done until next week.”

More troubling news in this missing persons case. On Wednesday, Shaun Rudy as in Court facing unrelated charges of felony firearm possession. Its always the ones with multiple unrelated charges.

Shaun Rudy is charged with felony firearm possession. He made his initial court appearance in Clark County. The arresting officer says he pulled Rudy over for driving with an obstructed window. That’s when he says he found a gun in Rudy’s car. The officer says Rudy claimed the gun was not his, but police say a witness says the opposite. Rudy is a convicted felon, which means he is not allowed to carry a firearm.

Search Resumes For Teketria Buggs, 12, Who Vanished From Couch

An Amber Alert issued for Teketria Buggs, 12, Sunday and remained in effect in Teketria Buggssoutheast Texas. She was last seen asleep on her couch at her home in the 9000 block of Johnson Road in Orchard late Friday night.

Teketria known by friends as Teeky Bugg, was last seen asleep on a couch at her home in the 9000 block of Johnson Road in Orchard late Friday night. She was reported missing at about 10 a.m. Saturday. None of her belongings, including a jacket, had been taken from the home.

On Monday night, Teketria’s mother told CNN’s Nancy Grace that she thinks someone Teketria trusted might have taken her.

Texas EquuSearch and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department widened their search Tuesday morning near Teketria’s rural home and asked for help from the Texas Department of Transportation.

“They are going to help us, being guides. They know the ditches, and the bridges and the culverts,” EquuSearch founder Tim Miller told KPRC Local 2.

Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch also went on to describe the many search methods that they would have at their disposal to search for Teketria Buggs. TES Buggs

Dive teams searched the Brazos river Tuesday afternoon. Miller said divers are searching several areas of the water where sonar equipment detected something. Miller said searchers would use remote control airplanes, high-vision scopes, 4-wheelers and Sonar to search more than 12 acres of heavily wooded land and the Brazos River near her home.

“I don’t see where there is to go. We understand she’s scared to death of the dog. She won’t even go to her aunt’s house, which is right next door, when it was dark. So for her to take off and go to some place on her own, I think that’s out of the question,” EquuSearch founder Tim Miller told KPRC Local 2.

Description: Teketria is a black female, about 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 95 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and light brown skin. She was last seen wearing a red and white long-sleeved pullover shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information should call the Fort Bend County Sheriff?s Office at (281) 341-4665 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS.

Fort Bend Herald: Search for missing girl expands

Search for missing girl focused on Brazos River

Video

The search for a missing Fort Bend County girl moved to the water Tuesday as dive teams went in into the Brazos River.

Tuesday was an especially emotional day for the searchers and volunteers.

Although the town of Orchard has a population of only 400, they have big hearts. Letters from the girl’s schoolmates, thanking searchers for their efforts, inspired investigators and searchers.

Several veteran deputies wiped away tears as they read the letters posted on the board by volunteers.

Searchers continued to search on land and in the water.

Investigators said they didn’t have any new leads, but divers were concentrating on one area of the river. They said sonar had picked up some images Monday.

The river is about a mile from Buggs’ home, where she was last seen sleeping on her couch.

“It’s been successful in the past. We’ve done many, many dives where it ended up that it was an old barrel or something like that,” said Tim Miller of EquuSearch.

Volunteers came back again to continue the ground search on horseback and four-wheelers.

Search for missing Teketria Buggs not encouraging

An Amber Alert has been issued for Teketria Buggs. She was last seen on Saturday sleeping on a couch inside her home.

Authorities say they’ve found no signs of struggle, no signs of foul play and no indication that a crime occurred. But maybe the most disturbing thing is that they’ve found no sign of this missing girl.
Search crews lowered an infrared underwater camera into the Brazos River in the hope of finding anything that might lead to Teketria.

“For her just to get up and put on her shoes, that’s impossible for me to believe,” said Laronald Foy, Teketria’s mother. “God himself would have to come and tell me that.”

Authorities are searching the 12 acres surrounding the home, as are volunteers from Equusearch. Director Tim Miller is not optimistic about finding the 12-year-old alive.

“There are a lot of things we don’t like about this one,” Miller admitted. “It just doesn’t feel good.”

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Teketria Buggs, please call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
