28 year old Kelly Morris was last seen on September 3, 2008 by her husband, Scott, and children at their home at 3220 Tump Wilkins Road in Stem, NC. The following morning, September 4, firefighters with the Stem and Providence fire departments responded to a house fire at 3220 Tump Wilkins Road.
Kelly Morris missing
On the morning of September 4, 2008, firefighters with the Stem and Providence fire departments responded to a house fire at 3220 Tump Wilkins Road. The house and much of its contents were destroyed; however, firefighters were able to determine that the residents, 34-year-old William Scott Morris and his wife, 28-year-old Kelly Currin Morris, were not home when the fire broke out.
William Morris was allegedly at his towing business in Creedmoor and the couple’s two young children, ages 8 and 5, were in school at the time of the incident. It was initially believed that Kelly was in Raleigh, where she worked for Nationwide Insurance; however, investigators soon learned that she never showed up for work that morning.
The next day, authorities found Kelly Morris’ car and personal belongings in an undeveloped subdivision about a mile from the home, shortly after firefighters responded to a fire at the residence. Authorities have not named any suspects, but have stated that Scott Morris is a person of interest in Kelly Morris’ disappearance.
The family of Kelly Morris is offering a $30,000 reward for information that leads to finding her and NC Gov. Mike Easley has added $5,000.
Family members say they will not stop searching and urge anyone with any information to contact Granville County sheriff’s investigators at 919-693-3213 or a volunteer search line at 919-812-2310.

UPDATE III: Texas search team looks for missing Stem woman
A high-profile team continued to search on Saturday for a missing Granville County woman.
Texas EquuSearch has sent crews to North Carolina to help look for Kelly Morris. They also plan to conduct a search for a woman missing from Gastonia, its members said on their Web site.
On Saturday crews searched a 15-mile radius. They used side-sonar technology in ponds and Falls Lake. An airplane with a remote control camera was also used to scan wooded areas. The group also looked down wells with special cameras.
“I think we have plenty of tools. We have plenty of resources (and) a lot of determination on the part of the searchers, now we just need a little bit of luck to go along with it,” Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said.

Isn’t this interesting …
Caylee Anthony is still missing, Casey Anthony has been indicted by a grand jury on murder one and Cindy Anthony appears to be forming a foundation. So why is Cindy Anthony forming a Foundation for Caylee Anthony and for what purpose will it serve? One question would be whether this Foundation is a Private or Charitable Foundation. Or is it a Foundation in registration name only?
The question that needs to be asked and answered is why now is a Foundation being created in the name of Caylee Marie Anthony?
OnLine Fictitious Name Registration for Florida

However, is this application for the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation really a foundation in the 501(c)3 sense that people have known to understand?
Florida, like many states, has long required by statute that any person operating a business under a fictitious name file a certificate in a public office disclosing the true names of the owners of the business. (Some states refer to fictitious names as assumed names.) The purpose for this registration is to provide notice to the public, and especially to creditors, of the identities of persons who are doing business under fictitious names for the purpose of protecting creditors from fraud and deceit. (See Jackson v. Jones, 423 So.2d 972 (Fla. 4th DCA 1982), review denied, 436 So.2d 99 (Fla.1983); 1957 Op. Att’y Gen.Fla. 057-283 (September 17, 1957)).

Investigators were looking for the grandfather of a kidnapped 6-year-old boy Friday, saying they believe the abduction may be linked to the man’s drug dealings with Mexican nationals. The boy, Cole Puffinburger, was abducted from a Las Vegas home Wednesday morning by three men posing as police officers. UPDATE II: Grandfather of Abducted Las Vegas Boy Arrested in Riverside
A little boy from Las Vegas remains missing, and the child’s grandfather remains locked up in the Inland Empire, as police have identified a second “person of interest” in a kidnapping case that may involve drug runners from Mexico.

Mr. Tinnemeyer, who had not been heard from by family in several months, is not charged with a crime but is being held in hopes he may lead police to the abductors of Cole Puffinburger.
Captain Cannito said Mr. Tinnemeyer had “stolen a large sum of money, all proceeds from illegal drug activity.”
The kidnappers, Captain Cannito said, “wanted to send a very clear message.”
“Message sent; message received,” he went on. “They’ve got the attention of an entire nation.”
On Saturday, the police called off an Amber Alert for the boy, saying that its effectiveness had run its course. They also had narrowed their search to Southern California and Nevada.
The police were also looking for Jesus Gastelum, a Mexican national in his mid-30’s. Captain Cannito would not say why he was sought. The police said Mexican authorities had been notified of the case.

It has been more than one year since Steve Fossett went missing went his plane, a single-engine, Citabria Super Decathlon disappearance. For months searches were conducted to no avail, until now. The main two remaining questions in the mystery of missing adventurer Steve Fossett:
- Where are his remains
- What caused his single-engine airplane to slam into a steep granite slope seven miles west of this town?
Steve Fossett ID
Wednesday, a hiker found identification documents, some of which were confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration and local police to match up with the American adventurer Steve Fossett. His plane was found about 1/4 mile from where his id documents were found. Searchers find Fossett’s plane but not his body.
UPDATE I: Ctv is reporting that human remains have been found scattered amid the wreckage of his plane in eastern California.
Wreckage from a plane belonging to Steve Fossett is seen in a handout photo released by the Mono County Sheriff’s Search, Ctv
The National Transportation Safety Board would not reveal what exactly was found, but they said the discovery was enough to provide the coroner’s office with a DNA sample.
Earlier in the day, Madera County sheriff John Anderson said the single-engine aircraft Fossett was piloting likely crashed head-on into the mountainside in the Inyo National Forest near the town of Mammoth Lakes.
Most of the fuselage disintegrated on impact, and the engine was found quite a distance away, Anderson said.
The discovery of the remains came after Anderson said searchers would walk arm-to-arm for about a kilometre-and-a-half around the crash site.
Wreckage of Fossett’s plane, and remains, found
A small piece of bone was found amid a field of debris 400 feet long and 150 feet wide in a steep section of the mountain range, the National Transportation Safety Board said at a news conference Thursday. Some personal effects also were found at the site.
Officials conflicted on whether they had confirmed the remains were human.
“We don’t know if it’s human. It certainly could be,” Madera County Sheriff John Anderson said late Thursday, hours after the leader of the NTSB had said the remains were those of a person. “I refuse to speculate.”

UPDATE II: Wreckage of Steve Fossett’s Plane Airlifted
A helicopter removes bundles of twisted metal from the remote, rugged area. Federal investigators plan to begin examining the parts next week. And searchers discover three more bone fragments.
Contractors finished plucking parts of adventurer Steve Fossett’s plane from remote wilderness in the Sierra Nevada this afternoon, preparing the wreckage for analysis by the National Transportation Safety Board.
UPDATE III: Remnants of Fossett’s plane may provide clues

21 year old Jennifer Lee Hampton from Waterloo, AL has been missing since 9:00 pm Friday, September 19, 2008 in Knoxville, TN. Jennifer Lee Hampton was last seen by a co-worker just outside her hotel room at a Days Inn in Knoxville. Police are suspecting foul play. According to police, Hampton’s cell phone was also left in the room
A 911 call from one of Hampton’s co-workers was made Saturday after Hampton didn’t show up for work and was not in her hotel room, according to Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk.
“Officers briefly looked into the room and thought what they saw was suspicious,” DeBusk told ABC News. “We believe that she was a victim of foul play.”
Police declined to say what evidence in the room made investigators suspicious, but Mama Blues owner Steve Barnhill told ABC News that he understood there was no forced entry into the hotel room and sheets were ripped off one of the beds.
Since her disappearance, police have searched for Hampton both in the hotel and in the surrounding area.
“Saturday night through Sunday we used a search-and-recovery team to search the immediate area. We also used tracking dogs,” DeBusk said. “Yesterday we used more than four dozen of our officers to ‘grid search’ in a wetland area that was near the hotel.”
Police have questioned family, co-workers and friends but said they did not have any suspects yet.
“We have conducted numerous interviews,” DeBusk said. “We have re-interviewed several individuals.”
Searches Continue for Missing Jennifer Lee Hampton
Police first combed the Turkey Creek wetlands near her hotel Monday. Thursday, tips pointed them toward the Cedar Bluff and Winston road areas. And today, they continued in boats on Fort Loudoun Lake, staging their command post in Carl Cowan Park.
Two dozen search and recovery members equipped with sonar and recovery dogs hit the water in five boats early Friday morning and searched 14 miles of river front. But all they found was more water. Despite a search that continually comes up empty handed, officials haven’t given up hope.
“We feel confident that we’re going to be able to break this case but it’s taking time,” said Knoxville Police spokesperson, Darrell DeBusk.
Hampton’s family hired attorney Eddie Daniel to help them get the word out about her disappearance.

UPDATE I: Body Found in Clinch River Fitting Description of Missing Jennifer Hampton
A body has been recovered a young white woman from the Clinch River near the Anderson County-Knox County line. There was been no positive ID; however, the inittial decription fits that of missing 21 year old Jennifer Lee Hampton. The family awaits an autopsy for a positive ID.
A fisherman spotted the woman’s body around 8:30 a.m. near Edgemoor Road off Pellissippi Parkway, Knoxville Police Department Lt. Doug Stiles said.
The body appeared to be that of a white female, Stiles said. He wouldn’t comment on whether the body showed signs of foul play. It was taken to the University of Tennessee forensics center for autopsy and identification.
“We’re waiting on the results of the autopsy,” Stiles said.
UPDATE II: Body identified as missing 21 year old Jennifer Lee Hampton
Medical examiners made the positive identification on 21-year-old Jennifer Lee Hampton within an hour after her medical records from Florence arrived in Knoxville.
“The records arrived late this afternoon and it did not take long for the medical examiner to make the determination,” said Knoxville police spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

What is the latest in the 3 Ring Circus that is supposed to be about little Caylee Anthony?
In Circus Ring #1 we have the recent announcement that significant levels of chloroform were found in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s trunk. We also learned that on Casey Anthony’s hard drive were recent searches made regarding chloroform and its uses. Because everyone knows that chloroform should be a naturally existing gas in a trunk.
In Circus Ring #2 we are presented with the second release from jail by Casey Peterson on a $500K bail. It was a mob scene when Casey was released from the Orange County, FL jail as protesters yelled, “baby killer”. Does anyone wish to speculate as to how the Anthony family suddenly was able to secure $50,000? It couldn’t be that the family may have already signed a book or movie deal?
And in Circus Ring #3 w are presented with the search this morning of the Anthony residence where they discovered and removed a gun from the vehicle owned by George Anthony.
The case is supposed to be about a missing now 3 year old Caylee Anthony. Little Caylee went missing on June 9, 2008; however, was not reported missing until July 16, 2008. That was the first red flag that this case was going to have some twists and turns. The second was when Cayle’s grandmother Cindy Anthony initially stated that her daughter Casey Anthony’s trunk smelled like a dead body was in it only to later have Cindy tell us it was really a pizza.
Why is it that the grandparents were initially skeptical of Casey and have now closed ranks insulting everyone’s intelligence as to the story and insulted law enforcement and searchers as well as to their efforts to help find missing Caylee?
