Hans Reiser, estranged husband of Nina Reiser arrested in her disappearance
VIDEO
NBC11 News has learned the Alameda County district attorney’s office will charge Hans Reiser with one count of murder Thursday morning.
The arrest comes a day after police and FBI agents searched Hans Reiser’s Exeter Drive home for a second time, and while police did not reveal specific evidence found Monday night, they did say that they served a search warrant for documents as well as forensic and biological evidence. Cadaver dogs were also used in the search.
UPDATE: Police: Books, Bloody Sleeping Bag Led To Reiser Arrest
Police said they believe the couple’s children were in the house when Hans Reiser allegedly killed his wife that day, according to a probable cause statement filed by investigators Thursday. Interviews with the children revealed that the two were allegedly arguing upstairs while the children played downstairs.
At one point, the boy went to his parents, and his father told him to leave and “not to come back upstairs, not even to the kitchen area,” Officer Ryan Gill wrote in the statement.
According to a probable cause statement, police found a roll of large trash bags, two books, “Homicide” and “Masterpieces of Murder,” and a bloodstained sleeping bag.
Hernandez reported the passenger seat of Hans Reiser’s 1998 Honda hatchback is missing. (NBC 11)

Jennifer Kesse has been missing in Orlando, FL for 8 months. Drew and Joyce Kesse have devised some interesting ways of getting their daughters picture out to the public.
VIDEO
Drew and Joyce Kesse said they want to get information about their daughter out to the public. Now they are putting the information on the back of playing cards, which they’ll send them to jails.
“We feel that it’s one more opportunity to make a percentage of the population aware, and that percentage of the population will be people in jail,” Drew Kesse said. “Obviously, they are criminals if they’re in jail, and I think at this point, we’re looking for a criminal.”
He said he hopes they’ll be playing with cards featuring Jennifer Kesse’s face on a daily basis.
“And maybe someone says, ‘Hey, you know what? I know something about that and it’s time,’” Drew Kesse said. (WESH)

Although still not considered a suspect in the case of missing Nina Reiser, police on Thursday took a DNA sample from her estranged husband, Hans Reiser.
Oakland police investigators obtained DNA from the husband of a missing Oakland woman Thursday after serving a search warrant on Hans Reiser’s person, Police Department spokesman Roland Holmgren said today.
Holmgren said Reiser is not a suspect in the investigation into the disappearance of his wife, Nina, a native of Russia who was last seen about 2 p.m. on Sept. 3 when she dropped off the couple’s children at Hans Reiser’s home in the 6900 block of Exeter Drive in Oakland.
There’s no evidence a crime has been committed in Nina Reiser’s disappearance, Holmgren said. (CBS5)

Missing woman’s husband detained for DNA sample
According to reports, Hans Reiser has been less than helpful and cooperative with the investigation into his missing estranged wife, Nina Reiser. Police were forced to obtain warrants to get the information they needed. Hans Reiser has stated in the past that he does not trust the police; however, what does he have to hide? Why is he not cooperating?
The estranged husband of a woman who has been missing for nearly four weeks was detained Thursday night for a DNA sample, Oakland police said today.
Deputy Chief Howard Jordan said Hans Reiser, 42, has declined to cooperate with the investigation so officers were forced to obtain a search warrant in order to collect a DNA sample.
“He has not cooperated, he has not answered questions,” Jordan said. “He was released after we received a biological sample.” (San Francisco Chronicle)

Has anyone seen Cole Jackson? Cole Jackson, 33, has been missing since July 13, 2006. Cole was last seen when he truck he was driving came out of a pasture and rammed into an elderly man’s fence. It is reported that Cole made a phone call, but never showed up at the rendezvous point. He was never seen or heard from again.
Thirty-three-year old Cole Jackson was last seen on July 13, about a quarter-mile from the church, when he came out of the backside of private pasture and rammed his truck through an elderly man’s fence. He stopped briefly to say he was sorry and would make good on the fence, but first he had to get away from the “bad people” chasing him.
The following day, his truck was found abandoned in a pasture about a mile down the road where the vehicle was apparently stuck in a ravine.
Cheyenne Jackson, Cole’s sister contacted Texas Equusearch for help in finding her brother. She also contact SM, Missing & Exploited in hopes of putting the word and pictures out to as many people as possible.
Please make sure to tune in to Dana Pretzer on Friday, September 29, 2006 for an interview with the family of Cole Jackson’s family.
Cheyenne Jackson, Cole’s sister who lives in Dallas said EquuSearch had been a godsend for her family — and hopefully their involvement would mean that her father could stop going out and searching and researching the same woods every day, as he has for the last 60 days.
Cole Jackson was last seen wearing a brown shirt and blue jeans. He is about 5’7” tall and 165 pounds.

Cole Jackson is severely asthmatic; however, he left both of his inhalers in his truck. According to reports, Cole Jackson was expecting his first child in October. It would also appear from reports that Cole was acting paranoid and a bit disoriented. It has been stated that “Jackson was not in a sound state of mind that day”. Also, family members found Jackson’s shoes with his wedding ring placed inside it.
“He was severely asthmatic, and he left both of his inhalers in his truck,” Wisdom said. “At the time of his disappearance he was acting paranoid and driving erratically. He felt like he was being chased. It’s possible that he became disoriented and got lost in the woods. He may have become dehydrated, or he could have had an asthma attack.”
An early morning discovery may have helped solidify Wisdom’s theory — family members found Jackson’s shoes with his wedding ring placed inside it.
Wisdom said it is likely that based on witness accounts and conversations, Jackson was not in a sound state of mind that day.
And his state of mind is something that search crews have to take into consideration when trudging through the brambles in the heavily wooded search parameters, Wisdom explained to a searcher. (The Daily Sentinal)
If anyone has any information or has seen Cole Jackson please contact Texas EquuSearch at 281–309–8500 or 877–270–9500.
