“It’s a little cooler than we’d like it if we’re going to be in the water,” Johnson said. “Of course, we’re going to be along the edges of the water. You’re going to get wet. You’re going to get a little cool.”
Johnson says the conditions aren’t ideal, but they’re not anything teams can’t handle.
“There are different types of missions – some water, some land,” Johnson said. “We’ve had a variety of different situations we’ve been in.”
Around 7:00 AM Saturday morning, crews were out in 37-degree weather, about ten degrees below average. And wind speeds weren’t kind either, with some winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour in some spots. But crews say they’re prepared for the changing conditions.

62 year old Joe Neff has not been seen since Wednesday, May 13, 2009 when his girlfriend came to the Long Branch Saloon, 68155 U.S. 59, near Poteau, OK and found signs of a violent crime. Blood and signs of a struggle were discovered at his business. Also, police found that thousands of dollars in cash had been taken from a safe in his home. Neff was last seen at about 9 a.m. Thursday in a local store.
Neff was last seen at about 9 a.m. Thursday in a local store. Prior to that, a female friend of his reported seeing Neff at around 7 a.m., said LeFlore County Sheriff Bruce Curnutt.
Investigators interviewed people who have been banned from the bar, but nothing came up during the interviews that led police to believe someone had held a grudge. Neff has not had to ban anyone from the bar recently, Curnutt said.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations spent much of Friday at Neff’s home, on Country Club Road, just outside of Poteau city limits. Authorities conducted a ground search for Neff Friday: however, but planned to expand the search today and Sunday to include bodies of water.
Authorities are investigating a possible homicide as their were signs of violence but no body.
Friends and family of Joe Neff conduct their own search for their missing loved one.
Neff was discovered missing Thursday after an employee at his business found blood and signs of a struggle.
Police have been searching the ground, and they hope to begin searching bodies of water this weekend.
His friends are now just waiting to hear what has become of Joe Neff.

A $10,000 reward has been setup for any information that may lead to Neff’s whereabouts.
If anyone has any information regarding this case, please call the Le Flore County Sheriff’s Department at (918) 647-2317, or the OSBI Tip Line at 1-800-522-8017

The parents of Christopher Robin Coan finally know what happened to their son.
18 year old Christopher Robin Coan had been missing since September 3, 2007 when he was last seen leaving his job at a Subway sandwich shop in Enoch, Iron County, Monday evening.
Coan was reported missing by his girlfriend on Tuesday. There has been no bank activity and authorities are beginning to worry Coan may have met with foul play. Enoch police contacted the FBI for assistance in the case.
An airplane has been searching the high-country desert around Cedar City and Enoch for any sign of Coan’s SUV, a 1994 red and silver-colored Chevrolet S-10 Blazer with a temporary tag. Police said the SUV has three stickers in the back. One says “Jerry Bear,” another says “The Wizz cartoon,” and the third says “Beatles.”
An interesting story was written in March 2008, six months after Christopher Robin Coan had gone missing. Police believed that Coan did not want to be found and that he was living in another area.
But Enoch Police Chief Dave Browning thinks Coan does not want to be found. Browning says the best information is that Coan ran away from his friends and family in Iron County and is living somewhere else.
The last clue as to Coan’s whereabouts came in January when an animal control officer in Silver City, N.M., reported seeing Coan’s Chevy S-10 Blazer with its distinctive stickers, Browning said. The vehicle was going through a car wash.
However, the Enoch police were wrong. The body of missing Christopher Robin Coan was found Thursday, April 9, 2009 when they discovered that Coan’s vehicle had rolled off a remote mountain road and tumbled 1,500 feet down a canyon.

Police have found a body early Sunday morning at 3:00 am in a wooded location along Winton Road south of Oakfield Avenue that is believed to be Esme Kenney. Police are waiting on official confirmation until an autopsy is completed.
Sadly, the family of 13 year old Esme Kenney has confirmed that the body found by police early this morning was that of missing Esme Kenney. The 13 year old girl had been missing since February 28, 2009 when she was last seen jogging near the water tower on Winton Road around 3:45 Saturday afternoon.
A family member released a statement saying:
“Our hearts are broken by this tragic end to a wonderful young spirit. We would like to thank everyone for their support, and ask that donations be made in Esme Kenney’s name to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.”
Police have a man as a person of interest in the case of missing and now deceased Esme Kenney. Police have made an arrest.

“Around 11:30 pm (Saturday) we came across this person of interest because of what we learned from that person,” said Briede. “We had the helicopter come out from the county, we called out for additional officers, we called for canine units, we began searching the heavily wooded area, 5900 Winton Road, and a little after 3:00 am one of the canine units discovered a body.”
Police are awaiting autopsy results to learn exactly how Kenney died.
In addition to the body police found a man they are now calling a person of interest in the death.

A Morgan Nick Amber Alert was issued late Tuesday (02/10/09) for 3 year old Dominick Wesley Arceneaux in Arkansas. The Ouachita County Sheriff Department are considering three possibilities: the boy fell in the lake, he wandered off and got lost in the woods, or he was kidnapped. However, authorities are leaning toward the possibility that Dominick Wesley Arceneaux was kidnapped from his Chidester home Tuesday afternoon.
Dominick Wesley Arceneaux Description:
- white with a dark complexion
- 3 feet tall
- 38 pounds
- brown eyes
- short brown hair
- The child was wearing a pair of blue jean shorts with red stitching on the pockets
For nearly six hours Wednesday, the Game and Fish dive team searched the shoreline of White Oak Lake. Arceneaux was last seen behind his family’s mobile home, which is only 50 feet away from the lake.
Sheriff David Norwood say he was playing with the family dog and his wheelbarrow around two o’clock Tuesday afternoon. He went inside to remove his shoes and five minutes later, his mother and aunt, who were inside the home, heard silence. They went outside and discovered the boy had vanished.
If anyone has any information regarding missing Dominick Wesley Arceneaux, please contact the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department at (870) 837-2200.

UPDATE II: Search Intensifies for Missing 3-Year-Old Arkansas Boy
Local, state and federal agents, along with members of the National Guard and volunteers, have joined the hunt for the boy — but without success.
Sheriff David Norwood said Friday afternoon there was still no hint of what may have happened to the toddler.
“We’re following anything we can,” Norwood said. “It would be different if we knew he’d been kidnapped, where you can take your efforts away from searching the lake, searching the woods. You could focus on finding a car or whatever other clues were available.”
The Arkansas National Guard has designed a grid search of 60 soldiers to blanket the area, Norwood said.

The issue may not be so much that the bar was closed at the time Dominick Arceneaux went missing, but the individuals who may have previously frequented the bar and previously saw the 3 year old boy.
Dominick’s grandmother, Martha Cortez, who drove in from Louisiana earlier this week, said she is suspicious of the bar near the family’s trailer. The Wild Horse Saloon is owned by her sister and brother-in-law. The bar gave her a bad feeling.
“I just feel like – something right there – at that barroom,” Cortez said without finishing her thought.
Jack Mitchell, who owns the bar, said earlier this week that it was closed Monday and Tuesday.
UPDATE IV: Sad Conclusion, Body found identified as missing Dominick Arceneaux
Searchers on Wednesday found the body of a 3-year-old Chidester boy missing for more than a week, only a few hundred feet down the shoreline from where his mother kept an anxious vigil on White Oak Lake.
Ouachita County Sheriff David Norwood told The Associated Press that rescuers found the body of Dominick Arceneaux, barefoot and clad in blue jean shorts, floating in the water around 11:45 a.m. Dominick’s body rested on the water only 10 feet from the shore, Norwood said.
Dominick’s body was taken to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.

31 year old Shawn Waters has been missing since Sunday evening, November 23, 2008 when he went fishing in a ganoe, a canoe with an outboard motor, near Merritt Island on Sunday evening. Waters’ truck was found near the entrance to the Pine Island conservation area on Merritt Island and Waters’ boat was found Monday afternoon at Manatee Cove, which is nearly a mile south of Pine Island. The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a missing Brevard County fisherman, Shawn Waters. It is reported that Waters was wearing a life jacket.
Waters’ truck was found near the entrance to the Pine Island conservation area on Merritt Island where he usually parks for fishing trips.
Deputies said Waters’ boat was found Monday afternoon at Manatee Cove, which is nearly a mile south of Pine Island. A resident found the overturned boat, and called authorities after watching Eyewitness News at 11, Tuesday night.
The Coast Guard had been using a helicopter and two boats to conduct the search. A helicopter from Patrick Air Force Base and members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and deputies from the Brevard County Sheriff’s office also helped.
“It is always a tough decision to suspend a search,” said Capt. Paul Thomas of the Coast Guard. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”
Boater finds missing angler’s watercraft
Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Linda Moros said authorities concentrated their search on the area where the boat was found capsized with nothing in it just north of Manatee Cove, about 110 yards off an island in the Pine Island Conservation Area on Merritt Island.
Waters went fishing there Sunday in his flat-bottomed, light-blue “Gheenoe” and failed to return.
A Gheenoe is a flat-bottomed boat similar to a canoe that is equipped with an outboard motor.
The Gheenoe was found overturned by a fisherman around 4 p.m. Monday. The fisherman said he realized the boat he found and took home might belong to Waters after he saw reports about efforts to locate the missing boater on television news, Moros said.
EquuSearch To Help Search For Missing Boater
Officials with Texas EquuSearch said the search and recovery group planned to help look for missing boater Sean Waters in Brevard County Sunday.
Waters went fishing last weekend in Pine Island Conservation Area, and has not been seen since.
Crews spent hours searching the area in the last week looking for Waters, and found his boat overturned and abandoned.
UPDATE I: Body discovered in Manatee Cove identified
The body discovered near Manatee Cove has been identified as Jonathan Shawn Evans Waters, the boater who was reported missing more than a week ago in the Indian River in Merritt Island.
Water’s body was found near a camp where he had been before he went missing. He was found at 1 p.m. today floating face down and 10 feet away from the shoreline.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the incident as a boating accident. There are no signs of foul play.
