The father-in-law of SueAnn Ray has been arrested and charged with concealing her body. Harold Danny Ray, 54, has been charged with other counts like tampering with evidence and and hindering the apprehension of a felon. Nothing like keeping it in the family. SueAnn Ray had been missing for more than five months until her body was recently found in a shallow grave. With the actions and demeanor of Harold Danny Ray during the investigation, this hardly comes as a surprise.

As posted earlier, the body of Amber Lyn Smith has been found by authorities under a rural bridge in Guadalupe County. Amber’s body was identified in part by the tattoos found on the back and ankle of a woman’s decomposing body.
Tattoos found on the back and ankle of a woman’s decomposing body discovered under a rural bridge in Guadalupe County match those of a missing local mother, police said this morning.
Authorities expect to confirm their findings today after the Travis County Medical Examiners Office releases its preliminary autopsy report on the body found Thursday afternoon.
Authorities have now changes this from a missing persons case to a homicide. According to reports the authorities have no suspects; however, they do deem, Amber Lyn Smith’s common law husband, Ronnie James, as a person of interest. As in most cases he was the last to see alive.
Seidenberger said investigators do not have a suspect in the slaying, but did identify Smith’s common-law husband, Ronnie James, as a person of interest.
“He was the last person who saw her alive,” Seidenberger said.
Smith, 28, disappeared last month from her home, leaving behind her purse and identification cards. There were no signs of a struggle inside the house or her car, Seidenberger said
A Texas Department of Transportation worker found Smith’s badly decomposed body:
On Thursday, some of her family members drove near where she had been found, but didn’t stop. A Texas Department of Transportation worker found Smith’s badly decomposed body lying face down under a bridge along FM 725, just south of New Braunfels. The site is about 10 miles from her Seguin home.
The worker was doing routine inspections of the county’s bridges, Seidenberger said. “She was placed there,” he said.
Distinctive tattoos, including one on her right ankle with the word “Ronnie,” all but convinced police Smith had been found.

Body ID’d as missing Seguin mom
We’re all devastated,” said JoEtta Wilson, 56. “We’re all feeling the pain.”
Wilson said Smith, 28, had worked at Child Unlimited for about a year and was on maternity leave when she disappeared the night of Jan. 28.
A memorial fund for Smith’s children has been established at Broadway National Bank.
The “Amber Lyn Smith Children’s Account” will assist with the care of Smith’s two sons. The account is No. 1385124 and donations can be made at any Broadway Bank branch, including the Seguin location at 1475 E. Court St.

The long awaited Medical Examiners report has been released. The ME has determined that Melinda Superville’s death was a suicide due to toxic effects of acetaminophen, hydrocodone and diazepam.
HOUSTON — A Houston chiropractor found dead in northwest Houston took her own life, according to an autopsy report released by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office this week.
KPRC Local 2 reported on Thursday that the medical examiners determined Dr. Melinda Superville’s cause of death was suicide due to toxic effects of acetaminophen, hydrocodone and diazepam.
Investigators said the death was suspicious because a gun was found near her body, however, the gun was never fired. To go along with no note. Also the fact that a gun and pills remained out in the open where the homeless had been known to frequent for one week and a crime scene was not disturbed.
One wonders whether this is one of those cases that there is just not enough evidence to point at anything but a suicide. Now it leaves us to speculate why would a woman take her life?

HOPKINTON — A mother and her infant daughter were found shot to death Sunday — apparently killed by the same bullet in their Cubs Path home — and the missing father has been called “a person of interest” by authorities.
Rachel Entwistle, 27, and her 9-month-old daughter, Lillian Rose, were discovered at 6:30 p.m. in the home at 6 Cubs Path after family and friends could not contact them, Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley said yesterday at a press conference at the Hopkinton Police Department.
Sunday, friends and family called police because they were concerned when they could not contact someone at the house. At 6:30 p.m., police went to the ho a “routine well-being check” and found the mother and baby dead on the bed in the master bedroom, covered in blankets, Coakley said.
Police had no idea a murder had been committed when the bodies were first discovered, Coakley said.
“They were in the bedding, almost not visible,” said Coakley. “There were no obvious signs of foul play. The officers thought it might be a medical, they didn’t know if it was carbon monoxide.”
Coakley said there was “little to no blood” found on the bed, and the bullet wounds were not discovered until later.
He drives a BMW, but Coakley said she was not sure if he was driving the car when he left.
There has no been no evidence of domestic unrest uncovered by investigators, Coakley said. She said no police records were found, and family members spoken to said there was no indication of unhappiness in the marriage.

Missing since December 5 and originally thought to be a run away, the body of 15 year old Kayla Reed was found on January 10 in a San Joaquin County canal. The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office positively identified Kayla this morning.
A worker in the area saw what appeared to be a body in the water, according to Krull.
The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office positively identified Kayla this morning.
Kayla was reported as a suspected runaway on December 5. Her mother last saw Kayla at their home on December 3 at 12:30 a.m.
Police announced Tuesday that they had begun investigating the disappearance as an unknown circumstances missing person case since Kayla had not made any attempts to contact family and friends.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office indicated that, when found, the condition of Kayla’s body was consistent with one that had been in the water for three or four weeks or more, according to Krull.
Krull said there is no way to tell exactly how long she was in the water.
Authorities identified Kayla by comparing a picture of her smiling to the teeth of the found body, Krull said. A torso X-ray was also used to establish her identity.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crime to call Livermore police at (925) 371-4900 or the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 468-4400.
Forensic tests confirm body as missing girl’s
Police suspect foul play; remains found in remote canal
A missing 15-year-old Livermore girl was found dead in a San Joaquin County canal earlier this month, police said Saturday after forensic testing confirmed her identity.
Reed was not positively identified until a forensic odontologist compared a picture of her with the remains, and a recent X-ray confirmed a rib anomaly on her body, Herrera said.
An autopsy couldn’t determine the cause of death because the body is so badly decayed, authorities said. However, police suspect foul play, as it would be unusual for Reed to be in the area where she was found, police said.

The search for the two West Virginia Missing Miners came to a sad conclusion today. Rescuers today found the bodies of two coal miners who disappeared after a conveyor belt caught fire deep inside the West Virginia Aracoma coal mine.
We have found the two miners we were looking for,” said Doug Conaway, director of the state Office of Miners’ Health Training and Safety. “Unfortunately we don’t have a positive outcome.”
The miners became separated Thursday evening as their 12-member crew tried to escape a conveyor belt fire at Aracoma Coal’s Alma No. 1 mine in Melville, about 60 miles southwest of Charleston. The rest of the crew and nine other miners working in a different section of the mine escaped unharmed.
The victims were identified as Don I. Bragg, 33, and Ellery Hatfield, 47. Both were fathers with more than a decade of mining experience and had worked in the Alma mine for five years.
