Natascha Kampusch Held Captive for 8 Years Gives First Interviews to Media

The details of one of Austria’s most notorious crimes have kept the nation spellbound since Natascha escaped from her abductor, Wolfgang Priklopil. She discusses her story for the first time.

The story of Natascha Kampusch has sparked a media and human interest frenzy the like thatNatascha Kampusch 1 has not been seen in Austria. Natascha Kampusch’s tale of being held captive by her abductor Wolfgang Priklopil for 8 years has enticed the curiosity of all. Natascha showed her face for the first time since her escape from her 8 year long captive hell. Natascha dreamed of escaping and fleeing her captivity although she had not planned to the day that she finally did.

The eighteen-year-old said her escape hadn’t been planned that day and that it was a flight of opportunity. She thought about fleeing many times but knew that if her attempt failed she would never come out of the windowless dungeon she was kept in for eight years.

Also, Natascha Kampusch admits that there were several times she dreamed of killing her captor. Is it any wonder with the torment she went through that she did not carry out her thoughts.

“I also had nasty thoughts… Sometimes I dreamt of chopping his head off, if I had an axe,” the teenager told the magazine, but added that the man’s suicide was “a waste” as no one should resort to suicide.

Natascha Kampusch would ask herself according to reports why of all people did this happen to her? During her eight year ordeal all she could do was dream of escaping.

Kidnap victim Natascha Kampusch has said all she could think of during her eight-year ordeal was how to escape and despaired when she learned that people believed she was dead.

“I asked myself again and again ‘why among all the million people did this happen to me?’,” Natascha told News magazine.

Priklopil had locked Natascha in the windowless cell in his house in Strasshoff, some 15 miles outside the capital, after abducting her on her way to school in 1998.

“I felt like a chicken in a hen battery,” she said.

“I promised myself that I would never lose the thought of escape.”

I tried to ask for help using my eyes, says kidnapped girl

The Austrian girl who was held captive in an underground cell for eight years has told how she tried in vain to signal for help with her eyes when she met people during occasional outings with her captor.

Last night, Feurstein said: “There were moments in the interview that really gave me the creeps. She told me she made eye contact with people time and again, and wanted to signal them, ‘Please help me’. And nobody reacted.”

Kampusch Interview “Gave Journalist the Creeps”

Christoph Feurstein, the ORF journalist who landed a career-deciding interview with Austrian abduction escapee Natascha Kampusch said to the BBC that talking to her gave him the creeps.

Kampusch claimed she had made eye-contact with people trying to ask them for help, but no one got her signals. This and other moments in the interview shocked the journalist, and the effect of Kampusch’s words was increased by the fact that she was not disguised or hidden in any way.

Trial Set to begin for Dean Schwartzmiller, Accused Serial Child Molester

The trial for 64 year old Dean Schwartzmiller, who authorities state may be the most prolific Schwartzmillerchild molester in history. The story of Dean Schwartzmiller simply shows the problems in how child molesters are dealt with and the slaps on the wrists that are given. Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller was previously arrested nine times; however, managed to avoid lengthy prison terms, coach youth football, move in with another convicted sex offender

Now, more than a year after Dean Schwartzmiller was arrested for allegedly abusing two 12-year-old cousins, his trial is set to begin in a Santa Clara County courtroom.

Schwartzmiller, 64, has pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of child molestation and child pornography in connection with the boys, whom he befriended in December 2002. Opening statements are scheduled to begin Monday in a trial that could last more than a month. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

Schwartzmiller is suspected of possibly molesting over 36,000 victims.

A convicted child molester jailed in California may have committed sex crimes against thousands of victims, police said Thursday after finding computers, notebooks and meticulous, handwritten lists of boys’ names and apparent codes for various sex acts.

During a search of his bedroom in San Jose, police discovered binders full of child porn and numerous logs with lists of more than 36,000 children’s names — mostly boys — and codes that appear to indicate how he abused them.

Teenager, Natascha Kampusch, held in Dungeon for 8 years as sex slave

Natascha Kampusch was ten when she was kidnapped on her way to school Natascha was then imprisoned in a tiny pit dug into the garage floor of her captor’s. What is only more unbelievable than Natascha’s story of being held as a sex slave is her dramatic escape and the fact that she is alive after all this time.

Natascha Kampusch, who was ten when she was kidnapped on her way to school, was imprisoned in a tiny pit dug into the floor of her captor’s garage.

Natascha told officers she was kept as a sex slave in a tiny windowless cell behind a heavy metal gate. She was forced to call her captor ‘Gebiete’ – an old-fashioned term for ‘Master’ used in fairy stories.

Initially, it was reported that she had escaped from Priklopil’s car when his BMW was stopped for a routine police check.

But it emerged that she had fled from his two-storey house in Strasshof near Vienna and was found by an elderly woman. Police quickly raided the property, finding Natascha’s passport and her tiny cell. Priklopil had already fled after discovering she was missing.

State Sponsored Child Exploitation, CO Girls can Marry at 15???

We are witness every day to the exploitation of our children by those that are older and in positions of authority. Teenagers are getting into compromising situations that they are ill prepared to handle. Some cases are where teens are having sex with there teachers. In other more bizarre cases we have teens flying off to the Middle East to meet with people they met on the internet.

Well, 15 year old girls need not worry in Colorado anymore. Your parents might have to and the communities you live in, but you will not. The brilliance of the Colorado Court of Appeals overturned the lower courts ruling and made it ok for 15 year old girls to enter into a common-law marriage. Unbelievable.

A 15-year-old girl can enter into a common-law marriage in Colorado, and younger girls and boys possibly can, too, a state appeals court ruled Thursday.

While the three-judge panel stopped short of setting a specific minimum age for such marriages, it said they could be legal for girls at 12 and boys at 14 under English common law, which Colorado recognizes.

The ruling overturned a lower-court judges decision that a girl, now older than 18, was too young to marry at 15.

The panel said there was no clear legislative or statutory guidance on common-law marriages, and that Colorado courts have not determined an age of consentage of consent.

For traditional ceremonial marriage, Colorado law sets the minimum age at 18, or 16 with parental or judicial approval.

So a 15 year old cannot drink, smoke or enter into a binding contract; however, some how in the eyes of the Court they have the decision making capability and maturity to marry. The unbelievable stupidity of the Courts lately is something to just shake one’s head at. Encouraging teens to marry is one of the most irresponsible things our liberal Courts have handed down in recent time.

So much for safety of minors or exploitation. Why do we say exploitation? Lets take a look at the case that prompted this disastrous decision.

Willis Rouse, 38, argued that he and the girl began living together in April 2002 and applied for a marriage license a year later. Did we mention that Rouse is serving time for escape and a parole violation? Did we also mention he was 38? The 15 year old’s mother even consented to the marriage and accompanied the girl and Rouse to obtain a license. Did we mention that Rouse was 38 and his bride to be was 15?

A judge invalidated the marriage, saying anybody under age 16 needed judicial approval for either common-law or ceremonial marriage.

Not any more according to the higher court. The Colorado court has made a decision that is paramount to State sponsored child exploitation. Every day we deal with predators attacking the children of this country, and we get this out of Colorado?  OK, someone just needs to come out and say it.

WTF is a 15 year old girl doing with a 38 year old man with the blessing of her mother!!!

Without a marriage license this would be exploitation and rape. What are we supposed to presume what happened between these two prior to the attempted marriage?

The Law makers in Colorado need to step in here and do the responsible thing. Such a law cannot be allowed to exist in the 21 century with manipulative child predators and ignorant non-caring parents who think its fine for their daughter to marry someone 23 years her elder. This is not the 19th century where girls married early to give birth to children so they could help out on the farm.

How are we supposed to help protect our children, if we have courts that make rulings that are in direct conflict with that very principle? I hope the 15 year old’s is Colorado that decide to take advantage of this ruling do not decide to celebrate their nuptials with champagne. That would be illegal. You can marry, but not drink … how screwed up is this?

UPDATE: Looks like we actually do have some law makers upset. They best not just talk about it, but actually do something for a change.

Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald said she was appalled by the ruling and said lawmakers need to look at the issue next year when the Legislature reconvenes.

“That’s a child. You’re taking advantage of an undeveloped person, putting them in a situation that’s for life. That’s something we need to take a look at,” the Democrat said.

No you do not need to take a look at it … YOU NEED TO CHANGE IT!!!

MySpace.com Subject of Sex Assault Probe

There has been many questions lately as to the goings-on of MySpace.com accounts. The latest craze of individuals, especially teens sharing far to much information has made for many terrible and exploitative situations. Such is the latest scenario out of Connecticut where police are investigating whether as many as seven teenage girls have been sexually assaulted by men they met through the popular Web site MySpace.com.”

The girls, ages 12 to 16, are from Middletown and say they were fondled or had consensual sex with men who turned out to be older than they claimed. None of the incidents appeared to be violent, said Middletown Police Sgt. Bill McKenna.

He said it was difficult to determine the exact number of victims because some girls have been reluctant to disclose that they met their assailants online.

The social networking Web site allows users to create profiles that can include photos, personal information and even cell phone numbers.

There have just been a continual rash of stories like this where some luckily wind up being a harmless encounter; however, most turn out to be much worse. The concept that teenagers will accept as the truth who they are conversing with on the internet is shocking. The fact that it may not be a 16 year old boy but in fact a 28, 38 or 58 year old man and potential sexual predator just sometimes never comes into their conscious. The following are just some recent internet meetings that went too far with a complete lack of judgment.

Missing St. Paul Teen,Abbi Lee Welch, Reported Found

A 15-year-old girl who was reported missing from St. Paul and who police thought may have left to meet a man she met on the Internet, is home safe, her father said tonight.

Abbi Lee Welch was last seen at about 9 p.m. yesterday in St. Paul’s North End, near Rice Street and Lawson Avenue. She told friends that she met a man on www.myspace.com and he was coming from Kentucky to pick her up, police had said.

Missing Brittany Lynn Lovett, 15, Believed to be with Brian Agnew, 19, who She Met On Internet

The police state that they know the whereabouts of a missing 15-year-old Columbus girl, Brittany Lynn Lovett. She is said to be with Brian Agnew, 19, who she met on the internet.

Police Searching for 27 year old Jason Iannazzi and 14 year old Cheynne DeCicco

Police are searching for 27-year-old Jason Iannazzi of Watertown, MA 14-year-old Cheynne DeCicco of Brea, CA. Her parents reported her missing earlier this month. Where did they meet? The Internet of course.

Erin Nembhard FOUND!!!

A missing teenage girl, who ran away with a man she met on the Internet who then took her to the home of a known sex offender, walked into the Opa-locka police station Monday asking to go back home.

Monica Sharp, a 17 year old from Richmond, has been missing since Sept. 18, 2005

A missing Virginia teenager may be in the company of a man (Jeffery Nichols, 57) from Belleville, according to Richmond, Va., Police.

Sharp’s family and police suspect she may be with Jeffery Nichols, 57, of Belleville.

Then of course there is the tragic case of Taylor Behl: Taylor Behl’s internet blog Aides in the Investigation

All too often teenagers are using MySpace.com, Tickle, Xanga, Zorpia, MSN Spaces and providing far too much information for the world to see and having far too open a conversation with individuals they would never have face to face. The worst part is they actually cross the boundary of cyber space to physical meetings.

Teenagers please use common sense and parents beware; however, companies like MySpace do have responsibility in all of this as much as they would like to think they do not. The following statement was provided by MySpace.com:

MySpace.com said it was committed to providing a safe environment for its users. The site, which includes safety tips, also prohibits use by anyone younger than 14, though a disclaimer says the people who run the site can’t always tell if users are lying about their ages.

Funny MySpace.com, what would happen to proprietors that sell liquor if they took the same tact? They say they are 21, therefore I can sell alcohol to them? Hardly. If you know that predatorial practices occur then it is your responsibility to create checks that will create a safe environment. The law of unintended consequences is that sexual predators gravitate to these sights that are dominated by teens and those in their young twenties. Knowing that, it is your obligation to do much more than just ask if someone is 14 and take their word for it.

You have created the social environment, now control it.

Mom, Boyfriend Charged in NYC 4-year-old son, Quachon Brown’s, Death

Yet another terrible situation in New York City with the child welfare agency. It is reported that Administration for Children’s Services caseworkers had visited the apartment where Quachon lived in November 2005 and reported it “to be in order.” Well, once again with the case of children case workers the term “in order” could not have been further from the truth.

A woman and her boyfriend were arrested Tuesday in the alleged beating death of her 4-year-old son, the latest in a recent series of child abuse fatalities that have rattled the city’s child welfare agency.

Alicia Smith, 26, faces a manslaughter charge in the death of Quachon Brown, police said. Her boyfriend, Jose Calderone, 18, was arrested on a second-degree murder charge.

Investigators believe Calderone physically abused the child, a police official said.

In less than two months from when case workers visited the home of Quachon Brown, “in order” became everything but. When police had entered the Bronx apartment they found Quachon dead with what appeared to be a fractured skull and other injuries.

Police responding to a 911 call early Monday found Quachon dead in the family’s filthy Bronx apartment. Investigators think the boy had died Sunday.

Autopsy results were pending, but police said there was preliminary evidence that the child had a fractured skull, a damaged liver and atrophied leg muscles.
(AP)

When will these stories end and children’s services take their positions more seriously? These people handle cases of the most vulnerable among us. Maybe they should start acting like it.
