Gilroy Family Agonizes Over Missing Daughter, Christie Wilson

The family of missing missing 27 year old Christie Wilson can only say the following after two long agonizing week, “We want to bring her home. We want that part of this nightmare over as soon as possible.

A Gilroy family is losing hope of finding their daughter alive. She has been missing for two weeks.

Christie Wilson, 27, of Sacramento, was last scene Oct. 4 leaving a Placer County casino with a man. But no one has heard from her since.

Images of Wilson and Mario Garcia, 53, were captured on casino surveillance video. Investigators are calling Garcia a “person of interest” in the case.

It only leaves many of us to wonder why such “persons of interest” are walking among us with past histories like they have? With past histories like this I guess we are to presume they will never occur again.

Garcia has been arrested on unrelated weapons charges and is in custody. Investigators said they found a hair in his car that may belong to Wilson.

Garcia has a criminal history that includes charges of rape, kidnapping and assault. His bail has been set at $1 million.

Update from KXTV, Investigators “Making Progress” in Missing Woman Case

Placer County investigators have located two of the three people they wanted to talk to in connection with the disappearance of a Sacramento woman

Authorities also said they talked to another casino customer yesterday who’d had contact with Wilson but was not one of the three seen on tape playing with Wilson and Garcia.

Lt. George Malim of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department said detectives are following all leads in the case and making progress every day. “We’re confident we’ll be making an arrest out of this,” Malim said.

Taylor Behl Missing,Follow Up on Car Being Found

CBS is Reporting on their web page:

Though he’s not a suspect in the case, the man was one of the last people to see Taylor the night she disappeared.

“They had been talking for a while online,” Cino says, “and it’s possible she considered him a confidant of sorts. She couldn’t have known too many people around here at that point.”

Taylor left her dorm room and vanished after taking only her cell phone, student ID, a little cash, and the keys to her car, police say. That car was spotted over the weekend by an off-duty officer.

“It’s a very big piece in the puzzle,” Richmond Police Chief Raymond Monroe says, “and, hopefully, once we have an opportunity to search the vehicle further, it can give us more information.”

The Times Dispatch also reports:

The dog could smell her, but he couldn’t find her.

The scent of Taylor Marie Behl, a missing Virginia Commonwealth University freshman, was one of two scents that were picked up by a Louisa County police dog brought in Saturday night to search her recovered car.

The other scent produced what police chief Rodney Monroe described as a “successful track,” which produced several leads that investigators were aggressively pursuing last night. Monroe would not say what the dog discovered or where its nose led investigators.

But the lead was a sign of further progress in the intensive criminal investigation into the disappearance of the 17-year-old Vienna girl, who has not been seen or heard from since leaving her dorm room two weeks ago on Sept. 5.

Andy Lathrop Update

Andy Lathrop, the Wisconsin 20 year old , has been missing in Japan for two weeks now. The family is thinking that there may have been an abduction in the case, as opposed to drowning which was initially thought.

They have set up a website, www.findandy.org, and are planning a fund raiser to cover family expenses for their trip to Japan.

MENASHA — Two special police detectives have been assigned to the search in Hakodate, Japan, for Andy Lathrop, the missing Menasha intern who vanished two weeks ago.

For family members who returned home Sunday after a week of searching for the 20-year-old Menasha man, news of the extra manpower was encouraging.

“It’s good to hear the news this morning that they’re not giving up,” said Andy’s father, Steven Lathrop, an electrician at a Menasha paper mill.

Thoughts that Andy fell victim to a climbing accident or possibly drowned have been lessened by the fact that his body has not washed ashore or been found in any of the extensive searches of the water and rocky beach area where he was last seen and the adjacent mountainous area.

Now, authorities may be exploring other options, including possible abduction.

“I think they’re looking now at a different area, that maybe he was taken,” said his mother Lesley Lathrop, an intensive care nurse in Appleton. “I just don’t feel that he’s still on that island; otherwise he’d be seen.”

Lathrop, who was supposed to return to the U.S. five days after he went missing Aug. 15, had finished his work as an intern with Labo International Exchange Foundation when he disappeared while traveling.

Hillel Ben-Avi Missing in the Mummy Range of Colorado

HillalbenaviFrom the AP

Rangers and search-and-rescue teams combed the rugged Mummy Range in the northern part of the park Tuesday for a hiker from Texas who has been missing since Sunday.

Hillel Ben-Avi, 45, of Austin, Texas, was last seen while climbing 13,502-foot Fairchild Mountain, about 60 miles northwest of Denver.

It was the second time in a month that someone has disappeared in the Mummy Range. Park Ranger Jeff Christensen died July 29 from head injuries suffered in a fall while patrolling the area alone.

Ben-Avi was hiking ahead of his brother, who last saw him near the summit. When his brother reached the summit, Ben-Avi was not there, park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson said.

Two helicopters, two dog teams and about 70 searchers were looking for the missing man Tuesday.

Hillel is a Radiologist out of Austin, Texas according to his biography.

Missing Yankee Fan found

The 13 year old boy that went missing from the Yankees game was found safe in Queens. No information on how he got there is available at this time, but we are relieved he was found safely.

1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) A 13-year-old boy from Stamford, Conn., who disappeared from a men’s room in Yankee Stadium, has been found in Queens, police said.

Hundreds of police and security guards searched for Majelique Lewis after he vanished during a trip to the bathroom during the seventh-inning stretch of a Yankees-Angels game, police said.

His mother immediately reported him missing to security, who notified police about an hour later, about 10:05 p.m. A search of the stadium, including parking lots, restricted areas and locked rooms, was fruitless, police said. Officers also searched nearby fast-food restaurants and train stations without results.

But police say the boy was located in front of a building in Jamaica, Queens early Sunday morning in good health. Police spokesman Bernard Gifford said he had no information on how the boy had left Yankee stadium in the Bronx undetected and traveled to Queens.

Every stadium exit is monitored by security cameras and Lewis’ mother did not spot him on hours of recorded images, police said. He attended the game with his 65-year-old mother, brother and two sisters, police said.

Lewis has no behavioral or mental problems and no history of running away, police said.

“He’s an average kid,” said Arthur Shannonhouse, who answered the phone at Lewis’ home and identified himself as the teenager’s father.

Between 10 and 15 children are reported missing at every Yankees game and are almost immediately located, police said.

Missing Prosecutor’s Laptop Found in River

ProsecutorMini Cooper

I saw this case about 2 months ago, and then it basically dropped off. So here is the latest a laptop was found in the river. I believe it is a work computer yet, they say this doesn’t seem to be related to his cases. I find that strange because a robbery would not end up with a hard drive removed and missing, and the rest of the computer in 4 feet of water in the river.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. — A laptop computer that belonged to a county prosecutor who has been missing for more than three months was found in a river near the spot where his car was abandoned, police said Monday.

Two fishermen found the computer, which was missing its hard drive, on Saturday at the bottom of the Susquehanna River, Bellefonte police said. The fishermen turned it over to state police who determined it belonged to Centre County District Attorney Ray F. Gricar.

The computer’s hard drive had either fallen out or had been removed before it was thrown into the river, police said.

“It’s another piece to the puzzle but it doesn’t lead us anywhere,” Bellefonte Police Chief Duane Dixon told reporters.

8 year old Lydia Rupp found safe in Mexico

In a case we are have followed on this blog, 8 year old Lydia Rupp was found safe in Mexico, the man who had been living with her and her mother took her and all her belongings. He is now awaiting extradition to the US.

While this Amber Alert got little to no attention from the MSM, many blogs put up the alert as soon as the Alert was issued. When we got to 2 (Utah and Nevada) active Amber Alerts I encouraged many to email Fox, CNN and MSMBC to at least get the stories on their website. Now, within 1 hour of the news coming out of the finding of Lydia, it made a Fox news update. If the Amber Alerts are not covered by the media isn’t their effectiveness limited? I have been told the Amber Alert is a local tool for missing cases, my opinion is in 4 hours after a child goes missing it is probably not a local story anymore. How many state lines can someone cross in 4 hours?

TIJUANA — A convicted sex offender was arrested and the 8-year-old Nevada girl he is suspected of kidnapping was found in “good shape” at a shelter in Ensenada, police said Friday.
Fernando Aguero, 47, was arrested in the afternoon and was being moved to Tijuana where police planned an evening news conference, authorities said.

Aguero is suspected of kidnapping Lydia Bethany-Rose Rupp, 8, from her home July 22 in Fernley, Nev., near Reno.

“She is saying that she is fine,” said Rodolfo Luna, a liaison officer with Mexico’s State Preventive Police. “She appears to be in good shape, with no complaints.”
