BYU student, Camille Cleverley, had been missing for nearly a week and was last seen riding her bike on August 30, 2007. Her bike had been taken by two teens who stated they theought it had been abandoned earlier this week. Now the unfortunate news comes that the body of Camille Cleverley was found at the base of a cliff approximately 1,000 yards from Bridal Veil Falls on Sunday afternoon.
Another sad and tragic end, rest in piece Camille.
Cleverley’s body was discovered at the base of a cliff approximately 1,000 yards from Bridal Veil Falls on Sunday afternoon. Officials say clothing on the body confirmed that it was Camille, and that it appears she died on the mountain. Exactly what kind of injuries she sustained were not made clear, but investigators say it looks as though she fell from the cliff above.
Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine exactly what happened and they have not yet ruled out the possibility of foul play — even though there were no initial indicators of a homicide or suicide.
The area where Cleverley’s body was found is dense with thick brush and trees and is a spot where many hikers have encountered trouble in the past, officials said.
Camille’s body found
The search for missing Brigham Young University student Camille Cleverley has ended. Her body was located at the base of a cliff near the falls this afternoon.
Search and rescue crews discovered Cleverley’s body at 3:31 p.m. in some brush and trees near a rock-strewn field at the base of a 200-foot cliff about a quarter-mile east of the falls, said Utah County Sheriff Jim Tracy.
Cleverley appears to have died from injuries sustained from a fall, said Tracy. Tracy said he could not yet rule out foul play pending a full investigation. Two detectives and a medical examiner were on the scene as of 4:30 p.m. (Salt Lake City Tribune)

Four year old Madeleine McCann went missing four months ago while she and her family were staying in Praia da Luz, Portugal. After all the investigation, after all the searching for missing Madeleine McCann, Portuguese police are about to do the unthinkable. The mother of Madeleine McCann is about to be named a suspect in the disappearance of her daughter.
The mother of a British girl who disappeared four months ago in southern Portugal is to be named a formal suspect in the case Friday, a family spokesman said, a shocking twist to a case that has gripped much of Europe. Kate McCann was questioned for almost 11 hours on Thursday, and is due back at a police station in Portimao, a town in Portugal’s Algarve region, later Friday morning, family spokesman David Hughes told The Associated Press. (FOX NEWS)
Madeleine: Blood In Parents’ Car?
Portuguese police have suggested to Kate McCann that traces of her daughter’s blood were found in a car the family hired 25 days after the girl went missing, a family friend said.
Mrs McCann, who is being questioned again by police, fears she will be charged today over the death of Madeleine.
In this bizarre turn of events, after all the efforts put forth by the parents of missing Madeleine McCann, either this is one of the most strange efforts by parents to find their missing child or the Portugese police have blown it. Kate McCann was questioned for over 10 hours. Both Kate and Gerry McCann have denied any involvement in their daughters disappearance.
After Mrs McCann was questioned for over 11 hours yesterday, the McCann’s lawyer Carlos Pinto de Abreu, insisted she was interviewed only as a witness.
Portuguese laws severely restrict what those privy to an investigation may say publicly, but Mrs McCann is said to be “amazed and concerned” by the news that her status has changed.
Previously Kate McCann and her husband Gerry had always met police together and officials described the meetings as informal. Both have denied any involvement in their daughter’s disappearance.
But yesterday Mrs McCann was interviewed alone and Mr McCann is expected to be interviewed separately at around 2pm today. (The UK Telegraph)

The plane carrying 63 year old Steve Fossett is missing. The man who has cheated death so many times with attempts to break aviation records in balloons is presently missing in his single engine plane. Searchers are looking in Nevada; however, Steve Fossett did not file a flight plan. It is hard to imagine after all the daring feats that Steve Fossett has attempted that he would be missing in a single engine plane.
The 63-year-old took off alone, with four full tanks of gas, in the small plane Monday morning from an airstrip at hotel magnate Barron Hilton’s Flying M Ranch.
He did not return as scheduled around noon, and a friend reported him missing Monday night, said Ian Gregor, an FAA spokesman.
Thirteen aircraft were doing grid searches over 7,500 square miles and were concentrating on an area of 600 square miles, said Maj. Cynthia S. Ryan of the Civil Air Patrol.
The search area is varied, ranging from high desert terrain with dry lake beds and sage brush, but also some rugged mountain peaks, she said. Gusty winds were hampering the search and could end up suspending the air search effort. (International Herald Tribune)

FAA: No sign since Monday flight scouting land speed record sites in Nevada
The 63-year-old took off alone at 8:45 a.m. Monday from an airstrip at hotel magnate Barron Hilton’s Flying M Ranch, about 70 miles southeast of Reno. A friend reported him missing when he didn’t return, authorities said.
Thirteen aircraft were searching for Fossett in addition to ground crews, said Maj. Cynthia S. Ryan of the Civil Air Patrol. The teams were doing “grid” searches over hundreds of square miles. (MSNBC)
UPDATE I: Search continues for aviation adventurer Steve Fossett
Fossett was flying in a single-engine, Citabria Super Decathlon — a plane capable of aerobatics — with tail number N240R, according to CAP. Fossett, though, had no parachute, which is required for aerobatics.

There has been no sound detected from the plane’s emergency locator radio beacon, which goes off if there is a hard impact.
The aircraft, with serial number 635-80, was manufactured by Bellanca, and is registered to the Flying M Hunting Club Inc. in Yerington. (CNN)

UPDATE II: Rescuers’ fears grow for missing adventurer Steve Fossett
Fears for the missing adventurer Steve Fossett are growing tonight as rescuers continue to search in vain for his small plane that disappeared over mountainous desert on Monday.

17 year old Ryan Lewis is presumed drown in the Delaware River after he tried to help stranded friends. Approximately 100 rescue workers took part in the search for Ryan Lewis. The search is being called a recovery effort.
Marine search and rescue teams dragged the Delaware River off National Park for most of the day. Four divers were also sent in during low tide.
At 9:00 Wednesday night, friends, whose boat ran around during low tide off what locals call No Name Island, called Lewis. Wanting to help, Lewis went into the river to try to reach the boat. He went under a couple hundred feet off shore near the Red Bank Battlefield in National Park.
His desire to help others may have cost him his life.

Floyd Nelson, the father of the NBA Orlando Magic’s guard and former St Josephs University star Jameer Nelson, has been missing since Thursday. Floyd Nelson disappeared from his job on the Chester water front on the Delaware River. The 57 year old Nelson was last seen at about 10:30 am. He was supposed to rejoin a painting crew on a barge by noon. Floyd Nelson has not been seen nor heard from.
Authorities said they don’t know for sure if Floyd Nelson fell into the Delaware River but Chester’s police commissioner said a multi-jurisdictional search effort will continue.
According to officials, Nelson disappeared near the waterfront at Front Street and Highland Avenue. Jameer Nelson arrived at the search scene Friday morning as divers, the U.S. Coast Guard and trained dogs continued to look for the missing man
Chester’s lead detective said some of Floyd Nelson’s personal items were found in a barge where he was assisting a painting crew.
“His car is in the lot, keys in the lounge with lunch and medication. He has high blood pressure,” Captain Joseph Massi, of Chester detectives, said. (NBC 10)
UPDATE I: Water search ends for Jameer’s father
After two days of combing the river bottom with divers and grappling hooks, police called off the water search yesterday afternoon and declared Nelson’s disappearance a missing-person’s case.
Divers couldn’t “see their hand in front of their face” as the search for Nelson entered its second day, Massi said. It ended at around 4 p.m. with no evidence indicating that he had fallen into the water while working at Hays Tug & Launch Service.
“We promised the family we would look until there was no reason to look any further, and we’ve reached that,” said Chester Fire Commissioner James Johnson.
“Hopefully, no news is good news,” he said.
If anyone has any information on Floyd “Pete” Nelson’s whereabouts is asked to call Chester detectives at 610-447-7908.

Liza Murphy, 42, has been missing since August 19, 2007. Her husband, Joseph Murphy, told police that his wife left their home after they had an argument on Sunday. Liza Murphy has not been seen from since. Liza Murphy reportedly left with only the clothes she was wearing, no cell phone, no money, no wallet. Authorities were planning to search the Oradell Reservoir in Emerson, NJ.
The case of missing Liza Murphy has become more suspect as Liza’s husband, Joseph Murphy, apparently tried to kill himself by stepping into traffic. Now don’t we all wonder what would cause Mr. Murphy to try an kill himself and then clam up after the failed suicide attempt?
The search for 42-year-old Liza Murphy, of Emerson, took place as Joseph Murphy recovered at Hackensack University Medical Center, a day after authorities say he stepped into traffic in nearby Westwood.
Joseph Murphy suffered a broken pelvis and other injuries after the self-employed painter was hit by a fire department car. He previously stepped in front of a bus and a Lexus before the fire official’s cruiser hit him, Emerson Police Chief Michael Saudino said.
Since the accident, Joseph Murphy has been uncooperative with detectives questioning him at a hospital intensive care unit, Saudino said. (NJ.com)
Search for Emerson mom expands
Authorities grew increasingly pessimistic Friday as they stepped up their search for a missing Emerson mother.
“To be honest, it doesn’t look good at this point,” Emerson Police Chief Michael Saudino said Friday afternoon. “I find it strange that she hasn’t tried to contact her children, let them know that Mom is OK.”
