Diana Gama, a 12 year old girl, is missing. She is pregnant and it is believed that her mothers ex-boyfriend is the father. It is also believed that her mother’s ex-boyfriend Hermilo Morales, 34, is traveling with Diana Gama. (video available)
Anyone with more information about Diana or Morales was asked to call Fullerton police at (714) 738-6715, or the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
The mother of Diana Gama, the 12-year-old girl who is missing from her Fullerton home, told Paul Dandridge Friday morning that the girl is pregnant and her mother’s ex-boyfriend might be the father.
Gama, 12, a student at Nicholas Junior High, reportedly called her mother to tell her she was safe and “where she wanted to be,” said Lieut. John Petropulos of the Fullerton police department.
Gama is believed to be traveling with her mother’s ex-boyfriend Hermilo Morales, 34, who has not shown up for work since the girl was first reported missing.
Laura Eimiller of the FBI said the agency got involved in the case Friday because it had the resources to look for Gama in Chicago, or Mexico, where she might have gone with Morales since he has known family in both locales.
FBI Searches for Girl, 12, in a Possible Kidnapping
The FBI and Fullerton police are investigating the disappearance of a 12-year-old Fullerton girl who has been missing since Wednesday, when she did not come home from school, authorities said Saturday.
FBI officials believe that Diana Karen Gama may have been kidnapped by Hermillo Ocampo Morales, 34, the estranged boyfriend of Diana’s mother. The FBI has obtained a federal warrant for Morales’ arrest, said Laura Eimiller, an FBI spokeswoman in Los Angeles.
“At this point it would be unfair to be speculative about the girl’s motivation, but we feel that he’s obviously taken her away from her family,” Eimiller said Saturday.
Hermillo Ocampo Morales’ car was found in Orange County. The following is a description of Diana Gama and Hermillo Morales:
Diana — 4 feet, 2 inches tall and 100 pounds — has dark hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing faded blue jeans, a white jacket with blue sleeves, and a pink top with a blue stripe.
Morales, who Fullerton police said may have his 11-year-old son with him, is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He also has a mustache, and a gold front tooth, the FBI said.
NBC4: FBI Joins Hunt For Missing Teen From Fullerton
Morales lived with the girl’s mother, Guillermina Salmeron, and the family for almost two years, NBC4 reported. About three weeks ago, the mother asked Morales to leave because she believed he was “mistreating” her daughter, Channel 4 reported.
“You can’t imagine the pain I’m feeling right now, that my daughter would be gone like this,” the girl’s mother said.
About 6 p.m. Thursday, Diana called her mother to say she was OK but was not coming home.
Salmeron, who has four other children, said her daughter told her, “Mommy, I can’t come home, I don’t want to return.”
But she also said she heard Morales’ voice in the background, “telling her what to say, but my daughter’s voice was anguished, and then he cut her off suddenly, yelling. I could tell he was angry.”
“There were no indications that he was a bad person,” Salmeron added. “And I don’t know if my daughter is with him voluntarily or not, and I don’t understand his reasoning why he would take her.”

After 8 years on the National Registry for Missing and Exploited Children, Nathalie Garcia was found on Tuesday. The 12 year old girl was found at Malvern Junior High School. Jessica Coman, one of Nathalie’s classmates saw her photograph on a pamphlet from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Unbelievable. What great news.
After 8 years on the National Registry for Missing and Exploited Children, on Tuesday a 12 year old girl was found at Malvern Junior High School.
Malvern Police say Nathalie Garcia was taken from San Antonio, Texas by her biological mother in 1997, when she was just 5 years old. Police say the mother did not have custody of her, because of a previous incarceration, and later kidnapped her during a visitation.
The 8 year old case was cracked on Tuesday, when Garcia’s classmate, Jessica Coman noticed her photograph on a pamphlet from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
“I`m like proud of myself, but I think what if something bad happens to her. What if she`s not happy? It kind of makes me feel guilty,” said classmate Jessica Coman.
“I think this defines her by who she is and who she`ll become, by something she did at 12 years old — I`m amazed,” said Coman’s mother Angie.
SA Girl Staying In Arkansas
An Arkansas judge rules that a San Antonio girl is going to continue living with her biological mother in that state, and make regular trips to San Antonio to see the woman that raised here until she was 4-years old.

Her mother, the accused abductor, wants to fight the case in court, officials said.

Several families met with Joe Mammana, the man who offered his help in their time of need. Joe Mammana has come to the aide of many missing persons families by offering large rewards in hopes that it may lead to some form of information being brought forward to solve the investigations.
Those families met Joe Mammana, a Philadelphia man who first made headlines by posting a $100,000 reward in the Natalee Holloway case, where the college student was reported missing in Aruba.
Since then, Mammana has made the same generous offer in local cases, including the disappearances of Julie Popovich, Tony Luzio Jr., Michelle Hadsell and Carla Losey. Now, he’s offered an increased reward in the 1996 disappearance of Rob Mohney.
Joe Mammana is in town as a keynote speaker for the annual Crime Stoppers breakfast, which will be held Wednesday morning.
In wanting to make a difference Joe Mammana has offered what he feels is his best way to make a difference in missing person’s cases. It has brought together many unlikely people including Beth Twitty, the families of several missing persons and Joe Mammana.

The state of Pennsylvania plans to begin posting pictures of missing children in the 21 Pennsylvania Turnpike’s service plazas facilities. They will be working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children organization and taking advantage of the millions of individuals that pass through the service centers each year in hopes of gaining further exposure to missing children.
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Hoping to take advantage of the millions of travelers who stop at the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s 21 service plazas each year, the state plans to begin posting pictures of missing children in the facilities.
Working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the state expects to have the first posters up in plazas within a week, becoming the first state to regularly dedicate space to information on missing children.
The idea to display the posters titled “Picture Them Home,” along with contact information if a person spots a child, came from a Turnpike employee.
The NCMEC wants Pennsylvania to serve as a model as it approaches other states with the idea, and hopes to add posters to service plazas all over the country.

If you think it looks familiar, look again. No its not New Orleans or the Gulf Coast regions. It is New England. To be specific, its Keene, NH. Known this time of year for its picturesque fall foliage and leaf peepers; this weekend tragedy and mother nature struck. Three more deaths are being blamed on heavy rain and flooding in the Northeast, raising the death count to 10.
From North Carolina to Maine, continuous rain forced hundreds of people from their homes, knocked out power and flooded roads. And the situation could get worse.
While the floodwaters have receded in some areas, the National Weather Service said rain is expected for the next several days. The rain was also described as a factor in three traffic deaths in Maine.
Earlier, in eastern New York, officials found the body of a 6-year-old boy who’d been swept away in a swollen river, and the man who dove in to try to save him.
Just like during the devastation that occurred during the hurricanes Katrina and Rita; the torrential rain storms took their toll on property, buildings and life.
“Not since the ’38 hurricane. The ’38 hurricane was worse than this,” resident Dale Wilson said. “I think the last flood we had here was in ’79. It took out some of the roads, but nothing like this.”
Debris littered the streets as the waters receded. Many homes were damaged, some beyond repair.
“We’ve done all we can do. It’s gone,” resident Paul Palmisano said. Palmisano’s house was perched precariously on the banks of the river, the ground eaten away by the surging waters.
“Everything we have is in there,” he said. “If it falls in the river, we have nothing.”

Father asks for help in finding kidnapped son, Erik Buran, as warrants issued for kidnapping.
A Reno father is asking for the public’s help in finding his 4-year-old son believed abducted by his mother in April. Lyon County issued a warrant June 27 charging Karen O’Grady, 49, with felony kidnapping in the abduction of her son, Erik Buran, on April 25. According to father, Robert Buran, he and his ex-wife have shared joint custody of Erik since their divorce in 2001. Buran had Erik three days a week, and O’Grady had him four days. Just before the abduction, Buran had filed for sole custody of his son and had lodged a complaint with Child Protective Services alleging O’Grady’s boyfriend physically abused Erik. Since then, a Reno judge awarded Buran sole custody.
Erik is listed as missing by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Nevada Child Seekers, Child Find of America and the Vanished Children’s Alliance.
Texas Missing Persons Clearinghouse Online Bulletin -Poster
• Erik Buran is 4 years old, 3 feet, 6 inches tall, with bluish-grey eyes and sandy blonde hair.
• Karen O’Grady is 49 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, with blue eyes and brown hair. She also uses the last names of Akers, Buran and Ligon.
• Anyone with information about their whereabouts or about a motor home O’Grady or her companion purchased just before they disappeared is asked to call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department at 577-5096.

Project Jason: Voice for the Missing has an amazing piece on Erik Buran and has been following the story since the beginning. They bring up a rather perplexing issue when it comes to Amber Alerts, although it seems that rules were bent when it came to missing teen, VCU freshman, Taylor Behl. It would seem to me that when it came to the safety of a child no rule is beyond breaking. Why no Amber Alert issued is sad. This program was set up to alert people and help find children, not create frustrating road blocks.
I want to remind you of the post I made on September 16th, entitled “Rules Meant to be Broken?”. This post outlined the State of Virgina’s Amber Alert criteria, admittedly broken for Taylor Behl. As of news stories today, police still state they have no evidence of foul play in her case. The State never responded to my letter, which asked how they were able to do this for Taylor. In Nevada, Robert Buran has been told that Erik does not meet their criteria because it is a case that involves parental abduction. Robert tells me that his research shows that since the Amber Alert began in Nevada in July of 2003, 15 Amber Alerts have been issued. 9 of those 15 were cases of parental abductions, with one being issued by the jurisdiction that tells Robert “no”.
