“The school didn’t tell them that she was missing. They went to the school and asked why she didn’t come home,” her father Jesus said through a translator.
(ABC Action News)

Mayra’s mother Elva, when reached at her home in the 3800 block of Pelau Circle in Sarasota on Wednesday, told The Herald in Spanish that a neighbor saw her daughter Tuesday. 12-year-old Amber Harris, who has been missing since Nov. 29, 2005, may have been sighted at the Council Bluffs gas station in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
A missing Omaha girl may have been spotted at a Council Bluffs gas station in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
Authorities received a report of a suspicious vehicle with several occupants at the Shell Speedee Mart located at 3624 Ninth Ave. around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
An employee informed the responding officer that a girl who resembled 12-year-old Amber Harris, who has been missing since Nov. 29, 2005, had gotten out of a brown van and was “slightly forced” back inside. Another passenger in the van came into the store and removed a missing poster of Harris from the bulletin board and took it back to the van.
Due to a lack of evidence of foul play Harris has been listed as a possible runaway.
Because of a lack of evidence of foul play, Harris has been listed as a possible runaway, according to www.crimelibrary.com, a missing children’s Web site. However, Harris’ parents, Michael and Melissa Harris, have said they firmly believe she has been abducted. The child is considered to be missing and endangered.
Friends and family of the missing girl are now offering a $2,000 reward for her safe return.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts and/or this case is urged to immediately contact the Omaha Police Department at (402) 444-5600.

Illinois State Police are still searching forthe bodies of a pregnant teen and her 4-year-old cousin, missing since early November. The authorities are searching Cahokia Canal for Anquiatte “Tweety” Parker, 19, and Cermen Lamont “C.J.” Toney Jr. were last seen on November 6, 2005.
Anquiatte “Tweety” Parker, 19, and Cermen Lamont “C.J.” Toney Jr. were last seen on Nov. 6 in East St. Louis after leaving Toney’s grandmother’s home.
Parker told her boyfriend in a cell phone conversation that she and Toney, who she was baby-sitting, were going to Collinsville to see a friend.
Parker’s car was found three days later in a V Lounge parking lot on Fairmont Avenue in State Park Place.
The car was found in the vicinity of Canteen Creek, which lies northwest of Fairmount Park Race Track. The creek turns west and later joins Cahokia Canal. Just west of that merger, a railroad bridge and grate obstruct the waterway.
McKinney Construction, of East St. Louis, donated the use of a trackhoe and operator to clean out the grate on Cahokia Canal on Monday morning.
A reward is being offered for information in the case. Police ask that anyone with information call 346-3701.

I would be remiss if I did not mention at the close of 2005 Kelly Jolkowski at Project Jason and the great work that she does with missing persons and their families. For those of you unfamiliar with Kelly, she is the mother of the missing Jason Jolkowski. She is also the Founder and President of Project Jason, that does some amazing work in the missing persons field.
Kelly, let me just say from Scared Monkeys … thank you for your hard work and efforts. The Scared Monkeys Missing & Exploited blog along with the Scared Monkeys main page is going to try to be implementing some new things in 2006. When I chatted with Kelly earlier this month regarding her new project I told her that I would be more than happy to spread the word and see if we could not drum up some support and volunteers for this noble effort.
Kelly Jolkowski has started another project that I have personally become involved in called Campaign for the Missing 2006.
What is Campaign for the Missing 2006?
Campaign for the Missing 2006 is a grassroots effort to pass legislation in each state that will serve to improve the law enforcement community’s ability to locate and ensure a safe return of missing persons. It will address the national problems of missing persons and the identification of human remains and provide the framework for improving law enforcement’s response. It will also improve the collection of critical information about missing persons, prioritize high-risk missing persons cases, and ensure prompt dissemination of critical information to other law enforcement agencies and the public that can improve the likelihood of a safe return.
The Department of Justice, working with Federal, State, and local law enforcement; coroners and medical examiners; victim advocates; forensic scientists; key policymakers; and family members who have lived through this tragic experience, developed the model to be presented in each state’s legislature. This is an updated list of participants in the campaign: http://voice4themissing.blogspot.com/2005/12/122005-campaign-for-missing-2006.html
We have also posted in this Missing Persons Forum a discussion thread for you to take a look at. If you would like to get involved and make a difference contact Kelly directly and email me also. Make a difference in how future cases will be investigated so that attention is given to missing persons and efforts are not lost in red tape and convoluted procedures.
What do I need to do?
The campaign seeks persons in each state who are willing to write to their own district’s elected official to ask for sponsorship.
These are some of the initial steps involved:
1) If you are interested in helping make a difference in the lives of thousands of missing persons and their families, send an email to campaign2006@projectjason.org Give us your name and the state in which you live.
2) Look up the name and contact information for your state senator. This is the official who works with state law rather than federal. You may look up your representative here http://www.ncsl.org/public/leglinks.cfm
3) Send either via email or US mail the prepared letter you will find included on the blog (in the link below) to that representative. You are asking them to sponsor this bill and to present it to the senate.
4) If you get a negative response, write to other senators until sponsorship is obtained. (My hope is that there will be more than one person in each state working on this, so that no one person is working on it.)
Please note that this is NOT a letter writing campaign. It is more extensive than that. Read all the links to understand what is asked of participants.
Please read the following for additional information: http://voice4themissing.blogspot.com/2005/12/121305-campaign-for-missing-2006.html
The above link also provides detailed information about the model legislation. This link contains the updated participant list. There may be someone you know on there. http://voice4themissing.blogspot.com/2005/12/122005-campaign-for-missing-2006.html
Please consider joining us in this effort. Thank you.
I know that there are many of you out there that want to make a difference in Missing Persons cases. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference. Get involved and change the way things are done for the better. I know many of you out there want to make a difference. The following is a note from Kelly on her blog,
So, the question now remains: Are you willing to take action to help the families you read about on this blog and the countless thousands of other families who live in the “not knowing”? What if it was your son, daughter, mother, father, brother, or sister?
What if you were me and you did not know if your own son was a body lying in a morgue somewhere? What if you were me and you wondered if you would ever see your child again?
I am but one voice for the missing, crying out not just for myself and my son, but for all of those who are not among us, and are close to our hearts.
While it may seem an insurmountable task to get the model legislation passed in all 50 states, that doesn’t matter to me. If we do not try, then we will never succeed. If we do try, then we have a chance.
There is always hope.

Friends and family said their final goodbyes to 10 year old Alejandra Gutià ©rrez who was laid to rest. “This is over with. She’s finally going to rest in peace. She’s going to live out her youth in heaven,” Guadalupe Nià ±o said.
The Gutià ©rrez family’s ordeal came to an end Thursday as 10-year-old Alejandra Gutià ©rrez — who’s been dubbed “Fort Wayne’s daughter” since she went missing Dec. 8 —was laid to rest Thursday in her Mexican hometown.
Alejandra will be El Cuitzillo’s daughter, as well. A crowd of several hundred people filled the village’s church to overflowing and accompanied her through nearby streets on a 2-mile walk to the village cemetery.
The Gutià ©rrez family flew to Mexico City on Tuesday, arriving in the pre-dawn hours to a family welcome. Public viewing of Alejandra was Wednesday night, attended by about 400 mourners, according to Lucà a Gutià ©rrez, Alejandra’s sister.

UPDATE from King 5
Video of search of Adre-Anna’s parents neighbor, Dave Jacobson
KING 5 News has learned that investigators looking for the missing Lakewood girls are tracking down new leads. They’re now examining evidence taken
Investigators have strong suspicions about Adre-Anna’s father and his friends.
According to Dave Jacobson, the police accused him of sexually abusing Adre-Anna.
Evidence report, underwear, bra and children’s pants. Police also found what to be “bone chips”
According to Dave Jacobson,
Jon Federici brought a yard cart and garbage can over to his house around the time Andre-Anna was last seen.
“He told me at the time it contained excess garbage and he could not dump it right away. And he wanted to store it over here.”
According to authorities the cart and garbage can were stored close to bags of cement on Jacobson’s property. Previously, Police had also seized empty cement bags in a dumpster.
Police did report finding three empty cement bags in a dumpster nearby during the search. But they say they do not believe they are connected to the investigation.
Jacobson has denied any allegations to abuse. Dave Jacobson claimed the underwear was that of an ex-girlfriend. The children’s pants belong to the ex-girl friends grand child.
Did Dave Jacobson not think any thing of Jon Federici wanting to store excess garbage on his property at the same time Adre-Anna Jackson went missing? One may be able to explain away the items the police found on his property, but not the lack of judgment of not questioning the garbage.

Police have searched the home of a friend of Adre-Anna Jackson’s parents as part of their investigation into the disappearance of the 10-year-old girl.
The home was searched Thursday, KIRO-TV reported. Police seized clothing and other items. The man told KIRO-TV that officers accused him of sexually molesting the girl. He denied the allegations.
Police have said that in addition to talking with Adre-Anna’s parents, they are questioning anyone the parents or their daughter knew as part of the investigation.

Case of missing girl, 10, baffles police
Frustration, fear and frayed nerves are plaguing the people who know Adre’Anna Jackson, a 10-year-old Tillicum girl who disappeared three weeks ago somewhere between home and school.
Detectives are working to identify and interview approximately 51 sex offenders who live in the immediate area, Farrar said. But it has been time-consuming since officers have had to confirm that the offenders were where they said they were at the time Adre’Anna disappeared, he said.
“Nobody’s been ruled out as a suspect, but then nobody’s risen to the level of a prime suspect,” he said. “We don’t have any good, solid information to lead us to one theory or another, so everything is still on the table.”
Anyone with a connection to Adre’Anna has been questioned and re-questioned, Farrar said. The FBI is involved in the search and put a national spotlight on Adre’Anna’s case, he said.
