24 year old Pfc. James Gonzalez, who has been thought to be missing has been found and arrested. Gonzalez was arrested Wednesday night after being found unharmed, according to U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command spokesman Christopher Grey. Pfc. James Gonzalez, a soldier at Fort Hood in central Texas, failed to return to base July 13 as scheduled.
Army Pfc. James Gonzalez
There are no indications that Gonzalez was abducted, Grey said in an e-mail sent to The Associated Press. Law enforcement officials in Laredo were interviewing Gonzalez Thursday, and Grey said he’d be turned over to the Army’s custody later that day.
There were conflicting reports about the circumstances surrounding the soldier’s arrest.
Grey said it was during a traffic stop. Local law enforcement sources say it was at a house in Laredo, Texas, they’d been conducting surveillance on during the investigation.
He has since been charged with being AWOL.
It has been reported that Pfc. James Gonzalez was missing, presumed kidnapped and that a ransom had been asked for his return.
A Fort Hood-based soldier has been missing for about a week since telling family members he was heading to a Texas border town, and the FBI says the Army was told the missing private had been kidnapped, the soldier’s brother said Tuesday.
The family of Pfc. James Gonzalez, 24, last saw him July 11 at his mother’s house in Robstown, near Corpus Christi, said his older brother, J.C. Gonzalez. James Gonzalez said he was headed to Laredo that afternoon to hang out with friends before returning to base July 13, his brother said.

3 year old Briant Rodriguez has been missing since May 3, 2009 in San Bernardino, CA since he was kidnapped by two gunman who broke into the Rodriguez home, robbed the house, and tied up his mother and four other siblings.
The men, each carrying a handgun, burst through the front door, tied up the woman and the five children, then ransacked the house and stole money and other property, sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said.
Beavers said the boy’s father was at work at the time.
The men left with Briant, telling the still-bound mother and the other children not to call police.
An Amber Alert was issued for the 3 year old about 9 hours after he was abducted.
Briant Rodriguez Description:
- 3 year old Hispanic boy
- 3 feet tall
- weighs 40 pounds
- brown eyes
- long, curly brown hair
- He was wearing a yellow shirt, blue-striped shorts and black sandals when he was taken.

UPDATE I: Authorities release pictures of suspects in 3 year old Briant Rodriguez’ abduction
Police in San Bernardino, California, released pictures of two suspects in the abduction of a 3-year-old boy who was taken at gunpoint from his home last weekend.
Investigators traced samples of the tape used to tie up the family to a home improvement store where they believe the suspects purchased the tape the Friday before the abduction.
The unidentified store’s surveillance camera captured two men who matched the description of the kidnappers given by Briant’s mother, purchasing tape believed to have been used in the abduction, Beavers said.
Description of suspects:
Both suspected kidnappers of 3 year old Briant Rodrigue are Hispanic males. One is 5-feet, 5 inches tall, between the ages of 18 and 20 with a thin build, unknown hair and eye color, last seen wearing a black baseball hat, blue jeans and green T-shirt. The other is 5-foot-10, around age 24 with a thin build, black boots, a black shirt and a bandanna.
PICTURE OF SUSPECT VEHICLE
The photo above shows an early 1990s dark green Ford Bronco believed to be driven by the unknown suspects. A spare tire is mounted to the back of the truck.
UPDATE II: Google Search Engine Has Joined the Hunt
Google has entered the search as well. When the user types in “Briant Rodriguez,” a “missing poster” will pop up on the right-hand side of the page with information regarding the missing child. Bob DeLeo, executive director at Google, said, “This is very, very serious. This is beyond an abduction. The more images you have out there, the more likely it is that the perpetrators will be turned in and the child will be found.”
The FBI has moved the Briant Rodriguez case to the top of their Facebook page.
UPDATE III: Investigators likely found Briant Rodriguez alive in Mexico
A 3-year-old San Bernardino boy who was kidnapped by armed men two weeks ago has likely been found in Mexico, officials said.
Investigators received a call on Friday from officials in Mexicali that a child matching Briant Rodriguez’s description had been dropped off at a building there. FBI agents, sheriff’s detectives and the boy’s mother, Rosana Millan, immediately flew to Mexicali.
Although Mexican officials have not yet allowed them to see the boy, investigators said they believe it is him.
“It sounds very positive,” said sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Beavers.

A 16 year old Helena girl Deanna Niven was been missing since Sunday evening, April 12, 2009 in Alabaster, AL. Deanna Niven was last seen at the Alabaster Walmart where she left at approximately 6:30 pm. When DeAnna did not return home and her parents could not contact her, they began searching for their daughter. When they arrived at the Walmart her family discovered Deanna’s van with her cell phone inside.
Police are currently looking for a vehicle in connection with the disappearance of Deanna Niven. There is reason to believe Deanna could have left in an older model silver Dodge Caravan.
Through images captured on surveillance video it is believed that Deanna Niven possibly willingly entered a van of another individual in the parking lot. The man in the vehicle appeared to be a man in his 20’s.
It’s believed that other individual is a man in his 20′s. Surveillance video shows what is believed to be either a silver 1996 to 2000 Plymouth Voyager or a 1995 to 2008 Chrysler Town and Country or Dodge Caravan. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, but Lt. Anthony says police are focusing on just one right now, “what’s most important right now is we find her and make sure that she is safe.”

The Schade family, Matt, Rowena, Devon, 11, and Sean, 8 are missing and have not been seen since March 20, 2009. The family left their home in Creighton, Nebraska in a black Ford Taurus, license plate number 12-G997, under what the sheriff says is allegations of possible family violence.
“We had had a report of family violence, and that is why we started the investigation. At the time the Deputy returned on the 20th, we had no grounds at that time to continue the investigation,” Janecek said.
Two days later, when the family couldn’t be located, the Knox County Sheriff started an investigation into their disappearance.
“We would just like to find out that they are all right and the family is tremendously worried,” said Janecek.
