Search for Missing Teen Resumes for Brianna Maitland

As per the Burlington Free Press, police resumed their search for missing teen Brianna Maitland on Friday and plan to continue looking with trained dogs and dozens of officers and volunteers today.

The two-day search in Berkshire and Montgomery has long been planned and wasn’t organized as the result of new information gathered by investigators, said Vermont State Police Lt. Brian Miller.

Police wanted to comb the forested region before snow cover set in, he said.

State Police Lt. Jocelyn Stohl, who commands the Rockingham barracks and is a leader of the search, said 44 people and 17 dogs would be deployed during daylight hours to look for remains or other evidence.

Brianna Maitland, 17, was last seen leaving her nighttime job as a dishwasher at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery on March 19, 2004. Her abandoned car was found the next day.
