Jeffrey Blake Stone Missing Since March 24, 2008 Found Dead in a Freezer (Nathaniel Wayne Lee and Troy Andrew Smiley Arrested for Murder)

15 year old Jeffrey Blake Stone had been missing since March 24, 2008 when he disappeared from his home Attalla, AL. Now comes the grizzly find … the body of 15 year-old Jeffrey Blake Stone was found in a freezer. The sad news of the discovery of Jeffrey Blake Stone’s body was only made worse by the manner in how he was killed. It appears from all accounts that Jeffrey Blake Stone was murdered as a thrill kill by Nathaniel Wayne Lee and Troy Andrew Smiley.

“It appears this senseless murder of this 15-year-old had been planned for weeks,” Sheriff Todd Entrekin said.

“And once they got him over there, they executed their plan for no other reason than to get the rush from killing somebody.”

Entrekin said it is believed Stone, who had been reported missing on March 24, was killed the day he went missing.

What is this world coming to? What a senseless murder.

Stone was reported missing in late march. Two young men are being questioned by deputies, and charges are expected later today.

The Etowah County Sheriff says the body was found in a chest-type freezer at a home in the Littleton community.

Investigators say they believe Stone was killed and initially buried somewhere else, and then moved to the freezer sometime last week.

The freezer found just down the road from where Stone lived.

Two Etowah County men have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Missing Jeffrey Blake Stone

Nathaniel Wayne Lee, 19, of 1176 Littleton Cut-off Road, Attalla, and Troy Andrew Smiley, 22, of 1084 Anna Drive, Attalla, have been served with warrants and are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center.

No bond was set.

Stone had been missing since March 24, and it’s believed he was killed that day. Stone was fatally shot.

Investigators received a new lead Tuesday morning that pointed them to a shallow grave on a logging road, Sheriff Todd Entrekin said. He said evidence at that site prompted investigators to obtain a search warrant for a home not far from where Stone lived with his father and stepmother, Jeff and Lynn Stone.

Etowah Thrill Kill Arrests

Wednesday night: 19-year-old Nathaniel Wayne Lee and a 22-year-old Troy Andrew Smiley are in custody, charged with murder. Detectives say the pair lived just down the road from the Stone family, where they did not work, but instead the Sheriff says they “smoked dope together” and hatched a plan to kill someone: just for the rush of killing, according to the DA. “For a 15-year-old child to be taken out of the world for two folks to have a thrill is just very disturbing to me and I think I speak for all the investigators in the Sheriff’s Department as well,” Harp said.

    1. I knew Jeff he went to my school and he was a very sweet kid. He tried to get along with everybody and never tried to cause any trouble. He did not deserve to be killed he has many friends who miss him and are very upset by what has happened. No one deserves to be killed and stuffed in a freezer!
