46 year old Mindy Jordan is missing while on a cruise from NYC to Bermuda aboard the Norwegian Dawn. Mindy Jordan reportedly went overboard at about 7:50 pm Sunday. According to Norwegian Cruise Lines Mindy Jordan was apparently trying to climb between balconies on the cruise ship.
The Coast Guard says the ship was approximately 45 miles northeast of Atlantic City when the woman was reported overboard Sunday night. It departed from the company’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal at 4 p.m.
The Coast Guard launched two helicopter crews, which searched for two hours before returning to base due to the weather.
The vessel proceeded on its scheduled itinerary, and is set to arrive in Bermuda on Wednesday.
The Cruise line issued the following statement:
the cruise line said the ship immediately began a search and rescue operation, but did not provide further details. On Monday, the Coast Guard said continuing winds over 50 mph and heavy rain prevented it from resuming the search.

smell test #1 failed unless the man had no option to get off the ship. I also wonder why he offered such little information about the incident to the family??? clowning around?????i mean he should have told them in DETAIL what happened and what he tried to do to save her.

I just returned from the fatal voyage. What a tragedy. To be onboard, and see how unsafe you really are was disturbing. We were not given much information while it was happening, but it was a sad thing to watch the rescue attempt. Trust me folks, this lady had no chance. It was not too stormy when it happened, but within a few hours, the weather became brutal. We waited and searched for many hours. The mood onboard was one of shock.
It has changed the way I look at cruising, and I hope that there will be real answers that we all can have access to, so that we can put this behind us.
Our trip was severely affected by those events. I only hope that Norwegian Cruise Line has the integrity and ethics to refund some of the cost of everyones vacation.

Its such a tragic event that occurred. The only thing i can think of is that he had something to do with her death. Everything is not caught on video. Even with the video of him going into thee room next door there may be something missing. He abused her in the past also which makes him even more as a suspect. Also, he was not sympathetic at all to her mother. He called and said your daughter fell off the ship and dies in a very monotone voice. His story is so much different then the story that the news is putting out. He said they were just clowning around…the news time line says that he was in a different room. Another fact is that they got into a fight while they were out to dinner just 30 min. before she fell off. That isn’t sketchy is it? I don’t believe that it was an accident for one minute especially if you know the family.
