Pierce County officials have identified the skeletal remains found recently in Lakewood as belonging to Adre’Anna Jackson, a 10-year-old girl who went missing in December.

Police are scouring the 3-acre vacant field in which the remains were found in the Woodbrook neighborhood of Lakewood, and may be searching for clues there for several more days, said Lakewood police Lt. Bret Farrar.

He said it was too early to assume that Jackson was murdered and placed in the field. Accidental death is also a possibility, he said.

  1. When are we going to learn?
When will we as a society wake up and realize that all is not well in our own community and that it might behoove us to squish our tendency toward politically correctness, even for a moment, to realize what’s really happening.
According to National statistics, there are 549,038 REGISTERED sex offenders in our country, at this time. (that’s not including the hundreds of thousands, or more predators who just haven’t been caught yet) fifty one of them lived in Adre’anna’s neighborhood at the time of her disappearance…and studies also show that offenders RARELY can be rehabilitated.
Coincidence? I think not. Most offenders are NOT in prison and the ones that actually see the inside of a prison rarely stay there for long. Most sex offenders are largely unknown to their society, meaning, in addition to being watchful of the ones you know about, you have to keep an eye out for others who haven’t publicly expressed obvious intent to anyone, other than a child. The problem, is, is that by the time it’s ‘expressed’ to a child, it’s usually too late and with one incident, the child’s innocence is lost forever and the vicious and sickening cycle of perversion and violence continues to cycle on.
I’m tired of hearing about victimized children in this ‘civilized’ country and think we need to implement stronger programs to track offenders, such as technological programs that can be developed and utilized to improve communication between law enforcement and other agencies, the schools and hospitals. We also need to develop programs to better educate families and keep children safer. And last but in no way least, we need mandatory and strict sentencing policies to herd these people up and remove them like the animals they are. Seriously!!! If we don’t agree that sexually preying on a child is animal-behavior then something is sickening in all of us and that is not acceptable!!! Wake up people!!
Let something useful come out of this precious little human being’s death — let some realistic policies be developed so our polite society is forced to get real — for once!
