Body Of Missing Woman, Chairo Garibay, Likely Found
Chairo Garibay, 20, has been missing since December 11, 2005 on her way to church. According to authorities, the body of a woman who disappeared last month may have been found in Yuba County.
According to Yolo County Sheriff’s Department news release, local residents were driving their truck on a dirt road adjacent to the Western Pacific Railroad tracks north of Plumas-Arboga Road on Monday, when their truck became stuck in the mud. They called friends for assistance. And when their friends arrived, they discovered what they believed to be a human body wrapped in plastic in the remote area.
The witnesses contacted the sheriff’s department, which confirmed the discovery and secured the area until investigators could respond, the release said.
“Upon unwrapping the body, we discovered that it was, in fact, in all likelihood, Cheira Garibay,” said Yuba County Sheriff Virginia Black. “We believe the body has been submerged in water. She was wrapped in a tarp, a plastic tarp, and weighted down with chunks of concrete.”

Missing Woman Found A Quarter Mile From Home
Detectives say they have found the body of missing Olivehurst woman Chairo Garibay. The 21-year-old’s body was found wrapped in plastic in a remote area of Yuba County.
According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Chairo was last seen at her home in the 1700 block of Maplehurst Street in Yuba County at 5:00 a.m. on December 11, 2005. She was supposed to meet her parents at church but never made it.
The cause of death has yet to be determined. An autopsy has been scheduled.

UPDATE: January 18, 2006; Head trauma killed missing Olivehurst woman
Then Wednesday, Yuba County Sheriff’s officials told her mother, Magdalena Ferreyra, and stepfather, Leonel Castillo that she had been killed by blunt-force trauma to the head.
Her body was found Monday in a tarp weighted to the bottom of a drainage ditch one-quarter mile from her home, Undersheriff Steve Durfor said. It had been there since roughly the time she was reported missing, he said.
