From The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Avery: ‘I’m going to jail … I can’t talk to you no more’

Steven Avery, who has been a focus of an investigation into the disappearance of a 25-year-old woman, told the Journal Sentinel shortly before 1 p.m. today that he was being taken into custody. “I’m going to jail. I can’t talk to you no more,” Avery said.

Man wrongly convicted now in center of new investigation

Since Saturday, investigators have searched the 40-acre Avery’s Auto Salvage lot near Mishicot and the family’s residences, seizing Avery’s car and the salvage yard’s flatbed truck in the hunt for signs of Halbach. The truck has since been returned.

“Is it a coincidence that this happened on his property? Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Maybe there’s more to do with it,” Halbach said when interviewed at his sister’s home in Hilbert, next door to their parents. “We trust that the (sheriff’s officials) will do a thorough search and investigation and eventually it will lead to answers.”
