Body Identified as That of Missing Galt Teen, Aaron Brooks
The body of Aaron Brooks was found Saturday morning at about 9:30 a.m. in a drainage canal was positively identified as the missing teen.
A body found Saturday morning in a Galt Park has been positively identified as that of 15-year-old Aaron Brooks, who disappeared on October 26. Police arrested a suspect in his killing late Saturday.
The body, which has lain in two-feet of water for more than a week, the body was positively identified as that of Aaron Brooks on Sunday.
According to accounts on Saturday police arrested 19 year old Salvatore Carmello Maggio of Wilton for the murder of Aaron Brooks. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on a single count of homicide.
Investigators said a witness told them he saw Maggio emerging from the drainage canal on October 26 at about 5:30 p.m. According to the witness, Maggio was wet, muddy and vomiting. The witness called 911, and both police and fire units responded to the scene. Galt police say Maggio told the responding officer that he had been attacked by three juveniles, who subsequently fled the area. He was treated by medics and sent on his way.
