Gary Michael Hilton
UPDATE I: “Person of interest” found in search for hiker
Police in Georgia say a man wanted in connection with a 24-year-old hiker missing was found tonight at a convenience store in Atlanta’s suburbs.
Gary Michael Hilton of DeKalb County, was found by police and taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation office for questioning. The missing hiker, Meredith Emerson, wasn’t with him.
She’s originally from Longmont but has been living outside Atlanta.
UPDATE II: Police question ‘person of interest’ in Ga. hiker’s disappearance as search for woman resumes
Also on Saturday, authorities went to Forsyth County in the Atlanta suburbs, where Emerson’s black Labrador retriever named Ella was found Friday at a grocery store, Bankhead said. Authorities identified Ella using her implanted microchip, Union County investigator Kimberly Verdone said.
Officials continued Saturday with their questioning of Gary Michael Hilton, who authorities said was seen with Emerson several times Tuesday.
Police picked up Hilton at a convenience store in the Atlanta area, Verdone said. She previously described the 61-year-old man as a “person of interest,” not a suspect.
UPDATE III: Search for missing hiker narrowed
Meanwhile, the “person of interest” connected to Emerson’s disappearance is not cooperating with investigators, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton told the Journal-Constitution earlier Saturday.
Authorities said Gary Michael Hilton, 61, remained at “an undisclosed location” and is being questioned in the disappearance of Emerson, whose dog, Ella, turned up a day earlier at a Cumming-area grocery store.
Paxton said Saturday that investigators have surveillance tape showing that Hilton had been in the area where the dog was found, but added, “We don’t have the luxury of him cooperating in the search for the woman.”
GBI officials wouldn’t confirm media reports that some of Meredith Emerson’s belongings were found in a dumpster outside this Quik Trip on Keith Bridge Road in Cumming, not far from the Kroger where Emerson’s dog was found. WSB reported that officials searched the dumpster, dusted a pay phone at the Quik Trip for fingerprints and had removed the receiver from the phone.
UPDATE IV: Police found items belonging to missing hiker Meredith Emerson in a dumpster Saturday in Cumming, GA
Police found items belonging to missing hiker Meredith Emerson in a dumpster Saturday in Cumming, outside a store where surveillance cameras captured the man investigators are calling a “person of interest” in the case.
The discovery triggered a new search for Emerson, 24, as police fanned out into a wooded area near the store searching for any clues.
The Kroger store is the same location where Emerson’s dog was found Friday night.

UPDATE VI: Missing Ga. hiker, 24, believed dead
Sad but enivitable findings in the case of missing Meredith Emerson. Investigators have recovered three bloody fleece tops similar to the kind Meredith Emerson wore.
Investigators had recovered three bloody fleece tops like the kind Meredith Emerson wore and said they held out little hope of finding her alive.
“It’s gone from a search and rescue to a search and recovery,” Union County sheriff’s investigator Kimberly Verdone said.
Three bloody fleece tops believed to be Emerson’s and a bloodstained piece of a car’s seat belt were found in a trash bin beside a convenience store where Hilton had used a pay phone, the warrant stated. Hilton had attempted to vacuum and wash portions of his 2001 Chevrolet Astro van, which was found without the rear seat belt, according to the document.

13 year old Brittnee Plant has been missing from Mesa, AZ since November 21, 2007. Brittnee is believed to be with an individual named Chris according to her mother. Britnee Plant called her mother once on November 26; however, hung up before her mother could ask any questions. Brittnee Plant may be with a 19-year-old man she met at a shopping mall
The teen, Brittnee Plant, has been the subject of a desperate search since she vanished Nov. 20 from her home. Although it appears Brittnee ran away during the night with an adult male identified only as “Chris,” her family and authorities fear that she is in danger and being held against her will.
Brittnee’s friends have told authorities that “Chris” had been trying to convince Brittnee to run away with him for some time. Police have no other leads on the identity of “Chris” or Brittnee’s whereabouts and are asking the public for help in finding the young girl.
Brittnee Plant
She is described as 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds.
She was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans with writing on them, black and red shoes, and a necklace with a heart pendant
Anyone with any information on Brittnee Plant to call Mesa police at (480) 644 – 2211.
Mesa teen’s disappearance a mystery
“She said, ‘Hey, Mom, I’m calling to say I love you guys,’?” Stephens said.
But then she hung up the phone. Stephens said she thinks someone walked into the room as her daughter was calling, prompting the girl to end the conversation abruptly. And since she hasn’t heard from her daughter at all for more than a week, she is especially worried.
“It’s just not in her character. She’s a normal teenager,” Stephens said. “She’s a good girl, and I know that she would continue to call or at least let us know she was OK.”
Police and Stephens said the girl was having “teenage” problems before she disappeared.
Police said Brittnee might be with a man named Chris, but they don’t have any other information on him. Stephens said Chris is homeless and has tried to lure her daughter away before.
Police ask for help finding Mesa girl, missing two weeks
UPDATE I: Girl, 13, missing 2 weeks found at Mexico border

Emily Sander, 18, is last seen leaving the Retreat bar in El Dorado with Israel Mireles on Friday, November 23, 2007. She has not been seen nor heard from since. Her car was found the following day at the Retreat, a bar east of El Dorado.
The search for answers in the disappearance of Emily Sander, a Butler Community College student, led authorities to Room 21 of the El Dorado Motel, where a manager reported an altercation may have occurred.
Authorities will not release details of the evidence they found Saturday in that room, but said they believe Emily Sander was the victim of violence.
Sander, 18, was last seen Friday at the Retreat, a bar east of El Dorado, leaving with Israel Mireles, 24. Her car was found the following day at the bar.
El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren said Mireles is the last person known to be seen with Sander.
Emily Sander case timeline
UPDATE I: Friend: Missing Kansas Student Led Double Life as Internet Porn Star
This case was just thrown a bizarre curve ball. It appears that the missing Emily Sanders may also be an internet porn star named Zoey Zane.
A missing Kansas college student believed to be the victim of foul play apparently led a double life as an Internet porn star by the name of Zoey Zane.
Nude photos of 18-year-old Emily Sander appeared on a Zoey Zane Web site before she vanished, and investigators are looking into whether her modeling had anything to do with her disappearance last Friday.
“She enjoyed it. She is a young teenage girl and she wanted to be in the movies and enjoyed movies. She needed the extra money,” Nikki Watson, a close friend of Sander’s at Butler Community College, told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “Nobody in El Dorado knew besides her close friends.”
Sander’s brother, Jacob Sander, confirmed that the nude woman pictured on the site is his sister.
El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren said FBI and state experts on Internet crime have been called in.
“Investigators are aware that Miss Sander was apparently involved in a Web site situation,” he said. “Allegations that this may factor into her disappearance are being thoroughly investigated.”
Sander was last seen leaving a bar in El Dorado, about 30 miles from Wichita, with a man identified as Israel Mireles, 24, authorities said. Sander and Mireles had met that night at the bar, according to Watson.
UPDATE II: Body of secret porn star found in Kansas
Authorities said the preliminary physical description of the body found about 50 miles east of El Dorado matches that of missing college student Emily Sander. Investigators refused to give details about the state of the body or how it was found.
