A team traveling about two hours behind Myers did not see any signs of the man. He had skis with him, but little survival gear.
Aerial searches are underway for the missing Colorado chiropractor.
He did not return to the camp at 14,200 feet, where his climbing partners were waiting. They said Myers took no sleeping bag, bivouac sack, stove to melt snow or thermal pad with him when he attempted to summit.
At the time, weather high on the mountain was deteriorating with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph.
Searchers did not know what route he planned to take down from the summit. Park rangers were using spotting scopes to look for him along the various descent routes.

“It’s a little cooler than we’d like it if we’re going to be in the water,” Johnson said. “Of course, we’re going to be along the edges of the water. You’re going to get wet. You’re going to get a little cool.”
Johnson says the conditions aren’t ideal, but they’re not anything teams can’t handle.
“There are different types of missions – some water, some land,” Johnson said. “We’ve had a variety of different situations we’ve been in.”
Around 7:00 AM Saturday morning, crews were out in 37-degree weather, about ten degrees below average. And wind speeds weren’t kind either, with some winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour in some spots. But crews say they’re prepared for the changing conditions.

62 year old Joe Neff has not been seen since Wednesday, May 13, 2009 when his girlfriend came to the Long Branch Saloon, 68155 U.S. 59, near Poteau, OK and found signs of a violent crime. Blood and signs of a struggle were discovered at his business. Also, police found that thousands of dollars in cash had been taken from a safe in his home. Neff was last seen at about 9 a.m. Thursday in a local store.
Neff was last seen at about 9 a.m. Thursday in a local store. Prior to that, a female friend of his reported seeing Neff at around 7 a.m., said LeFlore County Sheriff Bruce Curnutt.
Investigators interviewed people who have been banned from the bar, but nothing came up during the interviews that led police to believe someone had held a grudge. Neff has not had to ban anyone from the bar recently, Curnutt said.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations spent much of Friday at Neff’s home, on Country Club Road, just outside of Poteau city limits. Authorities conducted a ground search for Neff Friday: however, but planned to expand the search today and Sunday to include bodies of water.
Authorities are investigating a possible homicide as their were signs of violence but no body.
Friends and family of Joe Neff conduct their own search for their missing loved one.
Neff was discovered missing Thursday after an employee at his business found blood and signs of a struggle.
Police have been searching the ground, and they hope to begin searching bodies of water this weekend.
His friends are now just waiting to hear what has become of Joe Neff.

A $10,000 reward has been setup for any information that may lead to Neff’s whereabouts.
If anyone has any information regarding this case, please call the Le Flore County Sheriff’s Department at (918) 647-2317, or the OSBI Tip Line at 1-800-522-8017

43 year old, University of Wyoming professor Craig Arnold had been missing in Japan since April 26, 2009 as he was exploring the Japanese island Kuchino-erabu for a book he planned to write on the world’s active volcanos. It was initially though that Arnold might be injured, but still alive. However, that hope soon died once a search team announced that a trail discovered the previous day showed signs that Arnold suffered a leg injury, then fell from a steep cliff to his death soon afterward.
Award-winning poet Craig Arnold, who went missing in Japan in late April, is presumed to have died after a fall, his employer, the University of Wyoming, announced Friday. The university had established a fund to try to find Arnold after Japanese authorities ended their search.

Arnold’s footprints were found going up the path to the mouth of the inactive volcano, and in the last few days, rescue teams found his tracks near a steep incline, where he may have fallen.
The island is remotely populated by only a few hundred residents and is densely wooded with deciduous trees and bamboo.
