More evidence collected in search for Michelle Bullard
Investigators have discovered new evidence near the area where they found Julie Michelle Bullard’s driver’s license last week.
Investigators searching the area where Julie Michelle Bullard’s driver’s license was found last week have turned up further evidence that likely meant Bullard or her abductor – at some point – was near that location.
When sheriff’s deputies and search teams from Cumberland and Lee counties searched an area Sunday off Bogie Island Road in southern Cumberland County, they discovered the wallet and driver’s license of another woman who was in the mobile home where Bullard was taken from at gunpoint on Jan. 2. Authorities also found two of Bullard’s paycheck stubs, a pair of women’s socks, a ski mask and a handbag.Monday, deputies found a membership card for a gym in Sanford with Bullard’s name on it, as well as a shirt.
The initial story of the forced entry robbery and abduction is as follows:
Bullard, 23, was reportedly abducted just after 1 a.m. on Jan. 2. She was at the Bradley Road home in Broadway of her boyfriend, Will Stence, when a masked gunman burst through the door and tied up the four people inside before taking them into separate rooms and robbing them. When the other three victims freed themselves, they found Bullard was gone, witnesses told deputies.
Last Friday, a motorist found what appeared to be the driver’s license of Michelle Bullard.
Friday, a motorist in Cumberland County reported finding Bullard’s driver’s license in a ditch along Bogie Island Road, which is south of Fayetteville.
Bryant also said the clothing items found were to be analyzed by forensic experts with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
“They’re going to try to get DNA samples from the shirt and the socks. Whether they’ll be successful, I don’t know,” he said.
The area where Bullard’s identification was found is roughly 60 miles from the mobile home she was taken from.
