Missing CFK Kicker, Duncan O’Mahony, has been Found Safe

Missing CFK Kicker of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Duncan O’Mahony, had been missing since Friday failed to show to training camp. He was last seen Friday at the Calgary’s airport.

In a Monday news release, the family said O’Mahony is safe, and asked for privacy so they can “bring this situation to a close.”

Neither the football club or Ross Gurney, O’Mahony’s Vancouver-based agent, have commented yet.

Brendan Taman, the Blue Bombers’ general manager, said his team is concerned about O’Mahony, but has to start looking for a new kicker.

When he last spoke with O’Mahony, Taman said there was nothing in the conversation that would suggest anything was wrong.

“Duncan O’Mahony hasn’t shown for training camp due to personal issues,” said O’Mahony’s family in a statement made through the Blue Bombers earlier on Monday.

“We are having difficulties in reaching him. There is a concern for his welfare. We therefore ask that anyone who knows where he is either contact the family or the club.”

6 of 7 Missing Boaters in S.C. Rescued

Five of six missing boaters aboard the overturned catamaran, Super Suds II, were rescued off the South Carolina coast. The coast guard is still searching for the last missing boater.

The group had been on a charted fishing expedition Wednesday when the 26-foot catamaran capsized about 15 miles off Murrells Inlet, authorities said.

Five survivors were spotted with the overturned boat about 11:30 a.m. Thursday and pulled to safety by a Coast Guard helicopter, said Capt. John Cameron, commander of Coast Guard Sector Charleston. A volunteer boater assisting with the search found another person from the boat clinging to a life jacket and hauled him aboard.

He said the survivors said the vessel capsized and everyone went into the water. They all stayed with the vessel for a time, but then two of the people got separated, Cameron said. The boaters identities were not released.

High School teacher Samson Shelton Suspect in Kidnapping and attempted Murder of Ashley Reeves

Ashley Reeves, 17, is being treated at a St. Louis hospital after being found with a broken neck and other injuries. It is believed she sustained these injuries from a teacher from another district. High School teacher Samson Shelton of Smithton was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count. Ashley Reeves was found at 2 a.m. Saturday critically injured after lying 30 hours in dense woods in Citizens Park in Belleville.

Freeburg High School teacher Samson Shelton of Smithton is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping. He’s jailed in Belleville on $1 million bond.

Authorities found Reeves early Saturday in a heavily wooded area at a Belleville park, where she apparently had been lying for about 30 hours.

Investigators say Shelton had an undisclosed relationship with Reeves.
(WFIE 14)

What a shock, he had a MySpace account.

Day after girl was attacked, suspect gave no hint of stress

Just hours after prosecutors say Samson R. “Sam” Shelton tried to murder Ashley Reeves, 17, he appeared “completely normal” as he taught drivers education

Friday morning at Freeburg High School, one of his students said Sunday.

“He was normal, joking around as usual,” said Scott Brethauer, a freshman at

the high school. Brethauer said he saw nothing to indicate anything out of the ordinary in Shelton’s behavior.

For those who thought that it was the All American family with Samson Shelton living the normal life-style, take a look at this.

Shelton’s arrest has stunned students at the school and neighbors in the upscale Wildwood Lake Estates neighborhood in Smithton where Shelton has been living with his mother and grandmother. (a little red flag) The two-story brick home with a three-car garage sits in a country club setting in the 5400 block of Live Oak Drive, with a well-manicured lawn and neatly trimmed bushes.

Shelton, 26, who wrestled locally under the nickname “The Teacher,” was active in a variety of sports. He took part in a fast-pitch softball league, and a recent profile on the team’s Web site said his hobbies included “touching hookers” and pornography. (a larger red flag)

Some who knew Shelton painted a different picture of him Sunday. One neighbor, Craig Schwartz, said of Shelton and his family, “If you’ve ever heard of the all-American family, that’s who they were.”

Check out Steve Huff’s posting, Samson’s Fall, on this bizarre situation between yet another student and teacher.

Looking through Coach Shelton’s 70 friends on MySpace revealed plenty of men his age as friends, but no shortage of scantily-clad or alluring young women, either. There was Peyton, who listed her age as 17. There was also Jamie, still in high school (neither she nor Peyton listed themselves as attending Freeburg High), but 18. She left the following comment for Sam Shelton on April 25th, 2006, around 9 at night:

“i get to see u 2morrow right?”

Tanya Kach, Missing since 1996, Found Alive

Tanya Kach had been missing for over 10 years. She was last seen February 10, Tanya Kach1996; however, was found alive in a residence in McKeesport, PA.

While authorities have not released any details surrounding the case at this point, McKeesport police have confirmed that Tanya Kach was found alive inside a residence in McKeesport Tuesday, reports KDKA-TV.

Kach, who’s now 24, was reported missing on Feb. 10, 1996.

McKeesport Police Chief Joseph Pero says Kach was initially listed as a runaway, but her disappearance turned from there into a missing person case. (CBS 2)

Tanya Kach had been listed on the database at the National Center for Missing & KachExploited Children.

UPDATE: According to reports, Tanya Kach told the owner of a local convenience store that she was a missing girl and that she was being held by a school security guard against her will.

Joe Sparico, owner of J.J.’s Deli Mart, said the woman he’s known for the past six months as Nikki Evans broke down in tears Tuesday and told him she is the missing Tanya Kach, and that a school security guard had kept her locked in a bedroom of his Soles Street house that he shares with his elderly parents.

“To be honest with you, I really didn’t believe her at first,” Sparico said. “I mean, who could believe that. It’s been 10 years. It was just too much for me to believe.”

But when she walked into his store Tuesday morning, she was shaking and crying.

“She said she had something to tell me. She begged me to believe her and help her and not abandon her,” Sparico said.

Girl Missing for 10 Years Found, Was Allegedly Held Captive

On Tuesday she was identified as a 24-year-old woman using the name Nicky Evans, WTAE reported.

“She’s in good condition. She’s with family members in the Pittsburgh area,” Police Chief Joseph Pero told The Associated Press.

Held Captive for a Decade

Sparico told “Good Morning America” the alleged captor is a security guard at a school, and that he brainwashed her into thinking that her family didn’t want her anymore. He and Kach had allegedly concocted a cover story, telling people that she’d met him when he was 18 and he was working as a security guard at a mall.

UPDATE II: Police say missing Pa. woman had been confined to house for years

Tanya Nicole Kach, now 24, had been living at the home of Thomas Hose, 48, just about two miles from her father’s house in this Pittsburgh suburb, police said. The two had met at the school Kach attended before her disappearance.

In what is just an amazing story of being hid in plain sight, Tanya Kach was kept out of sight in seclusion just a couple of miles from her home.

Allegheny County Police Superintendent Charles Moffatt said Kach had been living at the home Hose shared with his parents since 1996, and was not allowed to leave the house for the first four years she was there.

When others came over, Kach was made to stay in a bedroom, Moffatt said.

“She had no contact with people, other than the people that were in the home,” Moffatt said.

Moffatt said that Hose would tell her what to eat and what to wear, something Moffatt referred to as “mind games.” Moffatt said there was no indication that Kach had been physically restrained.

Moffatt said charges were pending but would not elaborate.

James Ecker, Hose’s attorney, said police planned to charge his client late Wednesday with sex crimes involving a minor. The attorney said there was no indication that Kach had been abducted or kidnapped.
