AMBER ALERT Issued in Florida for Missing 15 Year Old Alyssa Frank (William Joe Mitchell – Sex Offender) (UPDATE FOUND SAFE)
An Amber Alert has been issued for missing 15 year old Alyssa Frank from Bartow, FL. Alyssa Frank is believed to be in the company of William Joe Mitchell. Law enforcement considers Mitchell a sex offender.

She is 5’9″ and weighs about 200 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.
Early indications were that she ran away from home, but after investigating authorities became concerned that Frank may be in the company of William Joe Mitchell.

- in the past has given officials two birthdays showing his age as either 46 or 47
- Height: 5’11″
- weighs about 158 pounds
- brown hair
- blue eyes
- Mitchell has several tattoos. On his left arm there is the name “Lisa” and a cross. The word “Love” is tattooed on his fingers. On his right arm he has the words “We” and “Bill” written.
- Mitchell drives a 2000 black Chevy Lumina with the tag number G02 5EL.
- His last known address is 1413 Lane Avenue North in Jacksonville.
In 2002, Mitchell was charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a victim 12-15 years-old. (NBC 2)

Amber Alert issued for Bartow teen
In 2002, authorities say, Mitchell was charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 15 years old. Detectives say he has no known connection with the girl’s family, but during the investigation it has been discovered that Mitchell and Alyssa have had several conversations. They now believe he traveled from Jacksonville to Polk County, and that the two are together.
UPDATE I: Missing Florida Girl Alyssa Frank Found, Suspect Still on the Loose
A teenage girl who ran away to rendezvous with a high-risk sex offender she met online was found safe at a store 400 miles from her home on Tuesday, while the search for the 46-year-old man continued, a sheriff said.
Authorities had issued an Amber Alert, blasting photographs of the two and a description of the suspect’s car across the state after the girl sneaked out of her home early Monday.
UPDATE II: Sex Offender William Joe Mitchell Arrested in Virginia
A sex offender accused of running off with a 15-year-old Florida girl has been arrested, police said Saturday. The girl was released at a Wal-Mart store earlier this week.
William Joe Mitchell, 46, was arrested by Virginia State Police at a gas station in Winchester, Va., according the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in central Florida. (ABC News)

I certainly hope this girl realizes she is lucky to be alive.
I hope she receives more attention from someone in a position to be a positive influence.
