Dead Army nurse’s husband charged with murder
23 year old Marine Cpl. John Wimunc has been charged with first degree murder and arson in the death of Holley Wimunc. Authorities have also charged 22 year old Marine Lance Cpl. Kyle Alden with first-degree arson, conspiracy to commit arson and accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. Both John Wimunc and Kyle Alden were arrested at Camp Lejeune.
Marine Cpl. John Wimunc, 23, was also charged with first-degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson in the death of his wife, Army 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc, of Dubuque, Iowa. Her body was found Sunday, three days after a suspicious fire at her Fayetteville apartment.
In May, Wimunc secured a temporary restraining order against her husband. She told authorities he got drunk and held a loaded handgun to her head and his. At the time of her death, the couple was going through a divorce.
“You start with people who are closest to the spouse and you work your way out from that,” Fayetteville Detective Jeff Locklear said of the investigation.
UPDATE I: Remains confirmed to be Wimunc
Hmmm now an Army Nurse, who just so happened to work with Moms and Babies, now is found murdered, the other two young women both pregnant, were murdered? Interesting and the authorities are saying they are not related. Hmmm.. Sounds like a serial murderer is out an about. If these three murderers are not related then someone needs to re-look and re-start the investigations with clean eyes and be neutral. Too many common things that should not be ignored.
Too close not to be related…

I blog on missing persons for http://www.officer.com and am a former police officer. I also live near Camp Lejeune. As to the comment above, I don’t see where these cases are anything but domestic abuse, not serial killers. It doesn’t make the any less awful, but that’s what they appear to be, IMHO.
Good blog, good subject. Like to see more attention paid to the missing because we’re the only voice they have.
