22 Year Old Stepha Henry Missing Since May 29th, 2007 in Ft Lauderdale, FL
Stepha Henry has been missing since May 29, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She attended a reggae concert and got into a car with a man and has never been seen or heard from since.
Description:
- Sex: Female
- Age: 22
- Race: Black
- Height: 5’2″
- Weight: 110
- Hair: Red
- Eyes: Brown
The two went to a reggae concert on Sunday, then late Monday night, Stepha told her aunt she was going to Club Peppers, a nightclub in Fort Lauderdale. Her family watched her get into a dark-colored 4-door Acura Integra with a man, and that’s the last they saw of her.
Police say video taken by a promotional company at Club Peppers that night shows Stepha there, and detectives say people saw her at the club, and saw her leave. Police also questioned the man she rode with to the club. He says they separated once they got there. The only other clue for police is that Stepha checked her cell phone voice mail at 4:13 a.m. But Stepha never made it back to her aunt’s house. (AMW)

Car sought for clues to woman’s disappearance
Police said they have no suspects in the case. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Henry’s parents — Steve and Sylvia — have moved to Florida temporarily from New York to try to draw more public attention to the case.
Henry was visiting her aunt in South Florida for Memorial Day weekend along with her teenage sister. On the evening she disappeared they had been to a barbecue with friends. (CNN)
The tragedy of this case is that Stepha Henry is a graduate of criminal justice. Doesn’t this sound a lot like the Imette St. Guillen case.
Her aunt, Carletha Clarke, told the Trinidad Guardian newspaper that police did not contact her until June 6, more than a week after the disappearance.
“I’m very disappointed, because being so long, anything could have happened.”
Henry is an honors graduate in criminal justice and was planning to go to law school next year.
Her parents said she has always been fascinated by crime.

If she had been white, she would’ve been on all thecable news.
_________
M&E: There are plenty of white people that never make the news as well. Unfortunatly the TV news has some screwed up vision as to what a missing person must look and act like.

I totally agree. The majority of headlined missing cases on National News lately have been white people. This has always been the case.
__________
M&E: I think there is a larger issue. The media does not show close to enough of any of the cases. Families of missing people need to know and understand that there are other outlets to get their stories out. Many times when there is a ground swell of internet support for a case, the MSM then gets involved. Its not like producers don’t scour the web for stories.

I can help you locate Stepha……….all you have to is ask me…….request me to do so, and I will.
Layla is here to help.

Layla – if you can help, please do. Black or white, rich or poor, this beautiful young lady needs to be found. If you can help, have compassion for Stepha’s family and all that know and love her and are no doubt out of their wits with fear.

I really cant waste anytime on arguing about white and black. Since I heard this story it have bother me. I feel for her parents and my preys goes out to them. I just hope God is with her and will bring her home. Forget the media because they cant do what God can. The only thing we can do in this case is pray. And stop making it a race issue. I am a black women and I am from Trinidad. I dont think we should bring race into this. Remember God is Good and know one can over power him.

Yes, it is a shame and hurtful that the issue of race has to be brought up in this case, but at the same instant; thats the truth of the matter. But, let’s not confuse the issue. The Jessie Davis story was carried on every news agency that I have watched since her mother found her 2-year-old grandson home alone. In the search for her the FBI also assisted. And 10 days later police were led to her whereabouts. Stepha Henry has been missing 25 days and she has not recieved anywhere near the amount of coverage that was shown to the Davis family. CNN ran stories daily concerning the Jessie Davis case. So where is the FBI in the Stepha Henry missing person case? Why has there not been the mass media attention? And this has nothing to do with “ground swell of internet support”. Every life should be considered precious and recieve the same diligence as any other life. One way to have individuals stop seeing the differents in black and white is to show the same support (massive news coverage “daily”, involve the entire community, for the FBI to sent “teams” to assist, etc.) to every missing, abducted, murdered, etc. Stepha Henry family has the right to know what happened to their daughter as any other family in this situation and should not be considered less important for any reason. THE HENRY FAMILY DESERVES AND ARE ENTITLED THE SAME RESPECT AS ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS TO GO THROUGH THIS TYPE OF TRAGEDY.
____________
SM: The family of Stepha Henry is welcome to some on our site and do interviews on the Dana Pretzer show any time they wish. They just need to contact us. We would more than welcome their story to be told in their own words.
I will never defend what the MSM does … as they have an agenda unto their own.
However, in many cases the MSM follows the hue & cry that is built on the web.
We try to follow as many cases as we can and help in them to get the word and and sometimes more.

I hope that the same crew that went to Canton, OH to look for Jessie will have the same compassion for Stepha’s family and go help look for her. Maybe now that Jessie’s case has resulted in an arrest some attention can be paid to this young lady and countless other missing beloved people.
_________
SM; Do you even care that “this group” as you refer to them … does search for many missing persons that never make the news of all colors?
I would dare say they could find the cure for cancer and you might complain what took them so long.
Have you ever donated $’s to a non-profit so they can search? Hmm …

I think the harsh SM response to Courtney’s comment was unwarrented. I just think she was pointing out that Texas E was not involved in the search and perhaps they ought to be. Besides, she called them a crew not “this group”.
__________
SM: The fact of the matter is that it would appear that both of you would rather make negative comments about a search organization, than emphasize the positive. Which is rather telling.
Its not a matter of compassion as to whether TES searches for one person over another. They ought to be involved? Who even knows if law enforecement or the family has asked them to search.
Rather comical and telling that you cannot seem to praise a selfless organization that helps others. Why is that? Instead you make comments as to where they should be. Hmmm …

The NAACP can take the time to bury the “N” word, but won’t/didn’t take a second to acknowlwedge one of our own people of color is missing let alone others across this country. Let one of their children or family members come up missing (hum wonder if that would make the news?). This only goes to show we still aren’t advanced nor will we as a race until we care for the whole race not only the individuals

This really touches my heart. I am a 22 year old black women who also goes to the club she went missing from. I don’t understand how they are not able to locate her or the car becuase, in Club Peppers everyone knows each other. Not only that, how hard is it to find a four door Acura Integera. Acrua stop making those cars long ago. It just scares me how crazy people are. This world is so tainted and corrupted…

i am someone who grew up with stepha. she is two years younger than i am and we were living in the same apartment building owned by her uncle when i was nine years old. stepha, myself and another young lady by the name of Elizabeth used to play jump rope in the hallway while our parents were at work. she was always a cheerful girl, with the goofiest laugh that just made you want to laugh also. when i saw her picture being posted on the news, i remember breaking down inside. This can only be silent because I have’nt seen Stepha in Years and i don’t know where the rest of her family or Elizabeth has moved to so that i can share my personal condolences. I try to check the websites on the daily basis to see if there was a success in the search for my once upon a time best friend. please keep me posted via e-mail. Elizabeth if you are reading this please try to contact me @ http://www.libbyoolivstenography@yahoo.com

I think the police need to spend more time with the guy who drove Stepha to the night club. He borrowed an Integra from a friend of a friend. Ok who is the friend and who is the friends friend. Also I read the latest witnesss that Stepha left with 2 girls in the Integra. I don’t know if that is right but if it is that seems very fishy to me. Also I think its time to bring in Dale Henman the FBI profiler or a reputable Psychic.

Look you guys, I think you may be wrong.
My friend Lily Arambulo has been missing from the Miami area since June 2, 2007 and she has not been all over the media.
In fact, the local news are not interested in reporting about her case at all.
And she is 22, long brown hair, light brown eyes, 4’11, violin tattoo on lower back.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.
