Description:
- 5’4” tall
- weighs between 90-100 lbs
- She was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
Her family thinks that foul play is involved in her disappearance for a couple of reasons:
- Earlier this month, Terry was badly beaten up at school and her family has since pressed charges against her attackers.
- Since then, Terry has been bullied at school and on several occasions, harassed on her way home.
- On Monday, her family’s home was broken into and vandalized. The letters CWI were spray painted all over the exterior of the home.
If anyone has any information please call the California City Police Department at 760-373-8606.

I do now know this girl or her family in any way, I dont even live in California City anymore. However I feel deeply for her family and pray for her safe return. My friend in California City who I keep in close contact with told me about it, and I feel compelled to keep myself updated on the latest news. I have 2 young children myself and would not be able to cope if anything happened to one of them. I hope that someone will come foward with some information on the whereabouts of this girl. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. God Bless

BAKERSFIELD – A body was discovered in the desert of California City, and could be that of a missing teenage girl.
Cal-City is about 75 miles from Bakersfield.
FBI agents and local detectives have been trying to make that determination since the body was discovered late Sunday.
Police are waiting for dental records to identify the body found in the desert.
But the little boy who found the body believes it’s that of the missing girl Jasmesha Terry, 14.
“We just looked under carpet and there was a male, a female, whatever-it is just lying there in a fetal position,” said Carlos Vargas, who discovered the body.
Vargas, 11, was with a group of friends looking for a dog when they discovered the body in a field behind the Desert Edge Apartments.
“We are going to wait until we get confirmation from dental records,” said California City Police Lt. Steve Colerick. “The decomposed body was at such a state and the clothes on her was not familiar to us or the family.”
Witnesses said they last saw Terry get off the school bus two weeks ago.
“During that time, we have located articles that belonged to her and were utilizing those articles to track down her whereabouts,” Colerick said.
But still, no sign of Terry; only clues to a potential murder.
FBI agents searched her uncle’s apartment Monday. The body was found in the lot behind his building, and now police said he is a person of interest.
Investigators marked the potential killer’s footmarks with cones.
Now Vargas is having nightmares about what he saw while the community is holding out hope for Terry.
“Kids to us are number one,” Colerick said. “That’s why we’re here trying to have a quality of life and this affects one family, it affects us all.”

CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. — The body of a female found in a dirt field in California City last week has been identified as Jamesha Terry, 14, who has been missing for several weeks.
The coroner’s office is calling it a suspicious death, but need to complete further analysis before they can rule her death a homicide.
That’s what homicide detectives from the California City police department are waiting for before they go ahead and launch a full investigation.
Terry went missing March 19 and had last been seen getting off a school bus in front of the Cal City market.
FBI agents and Kern County coroner’s officials used dental records to identify the body that was badly decomposed.
Terry was found before 6 p.m. Sunday in a field on the 21000 block of Neuralia Road.
Authorities searched Terry’s uncle’s apartment, which is 100 yards away from the field, and questioned him Monday, although he is not considered a suspect at this point.
Neighbors had said he went missing for several days, but a family member tells 23 News he was missing because he was visiting his brother in San Bernardino County.
