Body Found in Jackie Hartman Missing Persons Search
There appears to be a break in the Jackie Hartman missing persons case. A searcher on an all-terrain vehicle discovered a body on Sunday in the area where they were searching for Jackie Hartman.
“We have found a body,” Duncan said. He added that investigators believe the body is related to the disappearance of Hartman. She has been missing since Jan. 28 and police and volunteers have searched for her body in the rugged landscape between Fountain Hills and Payson, where the man suspected of killing her, Johnathan Ian Burns, used his cell phone in the hours just after her disappearance. ATV riders may have found body of missing Gilbert woman
Gilbert police investigators believe the discovery is related to the missing person case of Jacquelan “Jackie” Hartman, police spokesman Sgt. Andrew Duncan said.
Police found a body Monday morning in an area off of the Beeline Highway, east of McDowell Mountain Regional Park, authorities said.
Police are waiting for the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner to confirm that it is the body of the nursing student. It could take one or more days, Duncan said.
Jackie’s father, David Hartman who has been who has been organizing and conducting searches for his daughter since she went missing, said he was also waiting for the coroner’s report to confirm that it was his daughter.
“I’m still in the dark,” he said. “I didn’t know how I was going to feel, but it doesn’t feel complete. Once I see it for myself, maybe I’ll feel different.” (AZ Central)
