At first it was believed that the photos that were left on the doorstep of Johnny Grosch’s mother were that of the missing boy. Now it looks like the matter is a hoax and a terrible sick prank.
What were believed to be new photographs of a boy kidnapped nearly 25 years ago, have turned out to be a hoax.
Johnny Gosch, 12, disappeared back in 1982 while delivering newspapers on his daily route. Authorities concluded that he had been kidnapped, although his body was never found. His photo was became one of the first of a missing child to be put on a milk carton. A couple of weeks ago, someone left a set of photographs in an envelope on the doorstep of Gosch’s mother.

Police now say that the photo’s in question originally believe to be Johnny Grosch, who went missing in 1982, actually date back to the 1970’s.
Police are investigating a lead out of Florida that the pictures recently delivered to his mother’s front door date back to the 1970s. A retired investigator from the Hillsborough County sheriff’s office in Tampa says the photos of boys tied up and gagged are not Gosch. The sheriff’s office is now going through every roll of microfilm in its archives to find the police report, which has the photos attached.

DES MOINES, Iowa – The photos of bound and gagged boys that were sent to an Iowa woman whose son disappeared 24 years ago were investigated in the late 1970s and are not her missing son, a retired Florida sheriff‘s investigators said Wednesday.
“I remember this case,” he said. “I identified the kids portrayed in the photos. It was definitely investigated by me several years prior to the disappearance of Johnny Gosch.”

John Mark Karr was extradited to California yesterday from Colorado to face past charges of child pornography. Karr faces 5 counts of child pornography possession that date back to 2001.
Karr, 41, who faces child pornography charges here, spent the night in a Santa Rosa jail after landing at Oakland International Airport late Tuesday.
Five misdemeanor counts of child pornography possession have been pending against Karr in Sonoma County since April 2001, when authorities arrested him and seized his computer, alleging that the hard drive contained five sexually oriented images of children.
John Mark Karr was recently arrested in Thailand and brought back to Colorado in connection with the JonBenet Ramsey murder. It was later determined through DNA that Karr was not a suspect in the crime. However, John Mark Karr still faces the porn charges in California.
Karr pleaded not guilty to all counts and was jailed for six months, but he left the country before he could be tried. Prosecutors decided to pursue the charges after Karr surfaced last month as a suspect in the JonBenet killing.
During preliminary hearings in 2001, Karr’s public defenders waived his right to a speedy trial as they tried to get a judge to invalidate the search warrant that allowed Sonoma sheriff’s deputies to enter Karr’s home and seize his computer.

Earlier this week a 37 year old unidentified female from Ohio was said to have been reported missing aboard Carnival Cruise Lines, “Imagination”. She has now been identified as Tammy Grogan, 36, of Toledo, OH.
The investigation continues into the disappearance of a Toledo woman from a Carnival cruise ship. Family members confirm Tammy Grogan, 36, was reported missing Monday. Grogan was traveling on a cruise to Key West and Calica, Mexico.
Grogan was last seen by a family member early Sunday morning after leaving a port in Mexico. Monday, her family reported her as missing.
Carnival Cruise released a statement which says, “At this time, no foul play is supsected.”

Macon police are now searching for a mentally challenged man who has been missing 12 days.
Reginald Aaron, 22, was last seen at his job at Burger King on Gray Highway at about 9 a.m. Sept. 1, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.
Aaron’s grandmother reported him missing Tuesday, the release stated.
Co-workers believe he could be in the Bloomfield neighborhood or in the vicinity of Napier Avenue and Radio Drive, the release stated.
According to the release, Aaron is described as a slender black man about 6 feet 4 inches tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants and a white work shirt.
