Rachel Bruno, 20-year-old granddaughter of state Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno has been missing since Thursday.On Sunday, Bruno aides spread the news that the senator’s granddaughter was missing and provided a photograph of her. She is 5-foot-10, 110 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes.However, Monday she contacted family members to state that she was OK.
ALBANY, N.Y. — The missing granddaughter of state Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno is likely being helped by friends and has probably not left the Albany-Troy area where her family lives, a state police spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Until she spoke briefly with her mother on the phone Monday and said she was fine, Rachel Bruno, the 20-year-old granddaughter of the state Legislature’s most powerful Republican, had not been heard from since Thursday. She was last seen by family members Wednesday and did not go to work Friday.
In the call to her mother, Rachel Bruno did not say where she was or why she had left.
A statement issued by state police late Monday afternoon said “it appears that she is not the victim of foul play or in imminent danger.”

Police: Missing granddaughter may have friends’ help
ALBANY, N.Y. The missing granddaughter of the state Senate’s majority leader is probably still in the Albany area where she’s likely being helped by friends.
That’s according to state police who are investigating the whereabouts of 20-year-old Rachel Bruno, who has since had a brief telephone conversation with her mother.
Police say the granddaughter of Senator Joseph Bruno spoke with her mother yesterday afternoon and said she was fine.
