Maurice Wallace Pleads Guilty to the Murder of Olamide Adeyooye
After some of the most bizarre behavior in quite a while by an accused, Maurice Wallace, he pleaded guilty to the 1st degree murder of Olamide Adeyooye. In return with the guilty plea came a life sentence.
But after being admonished by the judge and sent into an isolation room to cool down, Wallace returned to plead guilty to all the charges against him – including first-degree murder, concealing a homicide, attempted murder, aggravated battery, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted escape.
He also agreed to a sentence of natural life plus 50 years in prison, which was handed down Friday.
When McLean County Judge Scott Drazewski asked Wallace whether he understood that his plea would keep him behind bars for the remainder of his life, Wallace replied, “Yeah, can’t wait.”

What a fitting ending to the bizarre behavior that Maurice Wallace showed during the trial. At least its over and no one will hear from him again. Hopefully.
Thank you for reporting this. I was having a difficult time following up on this case. I met Olamide when she moved to Berkeley, IL. We were friends through grammar school and junior high and it was one of the most painful things I’ve ever had to do attending her funeral. This man deserves to rot.
