Body Found at Savannah Hotel, Last location of missing Robert Hornbeck
An unconfirmed body was found at the DeSoto Hilton on Liberty Street in Savannah, GA. This was the last known location of missing Spc. Robert Hornbeck.
Savannah-Chatham police are on the scene investigating after a body was found on the property of the DeSoto Hilton on Liberty Street. The body has not been identified at this point.
That hotel was the last known location of missing Third ID soldier Robert Hornbeck, who disappeared on Easter Sunday. Hornbeck has since reportedly been sighted alive in other places, including Statesboro, however none of those reports have been confirmed.

UPDATE: Body Thought to Be Missing Soldier Found
Simply amazing that Savannah, GA turned out to be a more lethal location for Army Specialist Robert Hornbeck that Iraq. It appears that they have found his body.
SAVANNAH, Ga. – A body believed to be that of a missing Fort Benning soldier was discovered inside a piece of air conditioning equipment Friday at a downtown hotel after guests complained of a foul odor in the lobby.
“Detectives are conducting a comprehensive and thorough investigation to determine the reasons behind this man’s death,” said Lt. Mike Wilkins, a police spokesman. “At this time, investigators do not have any reason to believe this person was the victim of a crime.”
An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.
Eric Hornbeck, the soldier’s father, was informed of the discovery by police.
