Elderly Anthony Soriano Missing Since January 6
Anthony Soriano has been missing since January 6th when he failed to return from his daily walk. Soriano’s picture has been added to the National Center for Missing 
Adults organization’s Web site.
Soriano failed to come home from his daily walks across Merced as he normally does about 3 p.m. Jan. 6. Police are continuing to look for the retired truck driver and cannery employee; friends and relatives keep searching in Merced, Mariposa and toward Chowchilla.
Rita Soriano said the family has contacted the National Center for Missing Adults and her father’s picture has been added to the organization’s Web site. The family is thinking about enlisting the help of a Fresno psychic.

- Weight: 140 to 150 pounds
- The balding man has greenish-gray eyes and always wears a cowboy hat.
Rita Soriano said the family has received about a half-dozen calls in the week since Soriano was reported missing. Someone called Sunday to report they had seen Soriano on Thursday walking toward Mariposa on Highway 140; another person reported seeing him Saturday walking south along Highway 99 near Gerard Avenue.
About 600 fliers with Soriano’s picture have been circulated lately. Between 30 and 40 friends and family members are helping search for Soriano, who worked for California Canners and Growers and later Stribling’s Nursery before retiring.

- Circumstances of Disappearance: Unknown. Anthony was last seen at approximately 11:00am at his residence in the vicinity of the 1000 block of W. 12th St. in Merced, CA. He left the residence to go for a walk but never returned. Anthony was possibly later seen walking along Hwy 99 going south toward Chowchilla, CA.
