12-year-old Mayra Sandoval Missing Since January 10 getting off a school bus in front of Booker Middle School on Myrtle Street in Sarasota.
Mayra Sandoval was last seen Tuesday getting off a school bus in front of Booker Middle School on Myrtle Street in Sarasota. Her mother said Thursday that she is not the type of person to run away, and after three days, Elva Sandoval is “worried sick” about her daughter’s condition.
“The school didn’t tell them that she was missing. They went to the school and asked why she didn’t come home,” her father Jesus said through a translator.
Investigators say Mayra Erisuris Sandoval is “missing under suspicious circumstances,” according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office statement.

- Last seen wearing a light blue or beige fleece sweatshirt bearing the word “Mickey,” blue jeans and white sneakers.

Investigators said Mayra may have been seen at about 8 p.m. Tuesday walking near University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge Road. She may have been in the company of an unknown man between the ages of 18 and 25.
Mayra’s mother Elva, when reached at her home in the 3800 block of Pelau Circle in Sarasota on Wednesday, told The Herald in Spanish that a neighbor saw her daughter Tuesday. The neighbor told Elva Sandoval that a woman, who appeared to be 20 to 30 years old, picked up Mayra from school, went to the Sandoval residence and picked up some clothes.

Sheriff’s detectives have notified the “A Child Is Missing” alert program, which will make broadcast telephone calls to the area where she was last seen.
