Shaquille O’Neal Becomes Miami Beach Cop

How does Shaquille O’Neal get referenced on The Missing and Exploited blog? Not by scoring 37 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. That is impressive but not as impressive as what Shaq did today. At 7 feet tall, the newest Miami Beach police detective will not be hard to miss. Shaq

The newest police detective on Miami Beach won’t be hard to find — he’s 7 feet 1 inch tall, and weighs more than 300 pounds. Miami Heat star Shaquille O’Neal took his official oath Thursday afternoon.

Local 10 was on hand to exclusively cover O’Neal’s swearing in at Miami Beach Police Headquarters.

I give Shaq a lot of credit for pursuing a goal as admirable as being someone who wants to help with societies problems, not create them. Shaquille O’Neal said “it has been his dream since childhood to be a police officer”. Until that basket call career got in the way that no one could ignore. Could anyone blame him?

O’Neal said that since he is almost done playing ball, and because he has “been a leader, not a follower and stayed out of trouble,” he can pursue his goal of becoming a law enforcement officer.

However, for all of Shaq’s accomplishments in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, The Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat, its his wants to protect children that gets Shaq a big congratulations and standing ovation. According to reports, he will be working as an investigator with the child pornography unit. The children need all the help they can get from predators. OK sexual predators of Florida … meet your worst nightmare … its 7′ – 1″, Shaquille O’Neal.

“For this incident I don’t want to be credited as an individual who does police work,” O’Neal said in a statement. “I want to be credited as a Miami Beach police officer.”

O’Neal, 29, even has a custom-fitted uniform and size 22EEE boots. Law enforcement officials know they have a potential recruiting spokesman in the charismatic NBA superstar but say O’Neal has not asked for any special privileges.
