Mario Flavio Garcia, 53, had been referred to as a “person of interest” by Placer County sheriff’s investigators but was named a suspect in the case this week.

Three weeks after a “person of interest” was seen leaving a Placer County casino with a missing Sacramento woman, the man is now being called a suspect.
Placer County authorities named Mario Garcia. 53, a suspect in the disappearance of 27-year-old Christie Wilson, who vanished after leaving Thunder Valley Casino in the early-morning hours of Oct. 5.
Authorities also said that the case has been changed from that of a missing person to a homicide.
While Garcia has not been charged in Wilson’s disappearance, detectives have named him as a suspect because hair found in his vehicle has been matched to the missing woman.
